10,000x Rebate System: Every Return Makes Me Stronger
Chapter 46: Trip [2]Amon took a deep breath and activated [Merchant’s Divine Insight].
The moment the skill opened, the world around him seemed to change.
Faint information began appearing over almost everything he looked at.
The trees, small plants, and pavement all had values, and even the buildings surrounding them carried their own information.
Amon’s eyebrows slowly knitted together. ’What the hell?’
Almost every value he saw was negative.
Some trees were marked with values such as -15 Silver.
Several buildings had values reaching thousands of negative Federal Notes.
More importantly, beneath every single description was the same warning.
---
[Warning: Contaminated.]
---
Amon stared through the window with a confused expression. ’Contaminated?’
He had never seen Merchant’s Divine Insight display something like this before.
Even ordinary objects had some kind of value, but the warning made this situation completely different.
’Is the entire city contaminated?’
Before he could examine the surroundings more carefully, something suddenly grabbed his hand.
Amon turned his head and found Ambrosia looking at him with concern. "Is everything alright?"
Amon glanced down at their hands before gently pulling his hand back. "Yeah, everything’s fine."
Ambrosia continued looking at him for a few seconds, apparently unconvinced, but eventually she let the matter go.
The cab continued moving through the streets.
Amon quietly deactivated Merchant’s Divine Insight and looked outside again.
’I’ll figure it out later.’
For now, he didn’t want to ruin the vacation by making Ambrosia worry.
The silence between them lasted for the rest of the journey until the cab finally reached the center of Krut.
The three of them stepped out of the vehicle.
Amon immediately walked toward the trunk and grabbed all three small bags before either of them could reach for them.
Sidney looked at him. "Be careful with mine."
Amon stopped and slowly turned toward her. "...Why?"
Sidney’s expression became slightly awkward. "I have expensive things inside."
Amon narrowed his eyes. "What kind of expensive things?"
"None of your business." She quickly looked away.
’...The fuck is wrong with her?’
Amon stared at her for another moment before sighing and carrying the bags anyway.
Sidney was wearing a light summer dress that reached just above her knees, with a simple belt around her waist and comfortable sandals on her feet.
The outfit was much more suitable for the humid weather than the clothes she normally wore.
Despite her slightly troublesome personality, she had inherited many of Ambrosia’s features.
Her dark hair with orange highlights framed a face that looked innocent whenever she wasn’t glaring at someone.
While her eyes carried the same sharpness that Amon had seen in Ambrosia.
Amon glanced toward Ambrosia as well.
She was wearing a loose white shirt with rolled-up sleeves and a long, lightweight skirt that moved gently whenever the wind passed through the street.
Her outfit was simple, but the combination of her mature appearance and relaxed expression made her stand out among the tourists around them.
"Mom." Sidney suddenly grabbed Ambrosia’s arm. "Look at that."
She pointed toward a small food stall across the street.
Ambrosia followed her gaze and smiled. "Want to try it?"
Sidney nodded immediately like a child.
Amon sighed. "Fine."
The three of them crossed the street and approached the stall.
The food turned out to be some kind of grilled meat wrapped in thin bread with vegetables and a spicy sauce.
Sidney took one bite and immediately widened her eyes. "This is good."
Amon smiled. "I can make better food than this."
Sidney glared at him while taking another bite. "Shut up."
Ambrosia laughed beside them. "Why do you always fight like kids?"
The two of them remained silent at her remark.
They continued walking through the city afterward, stopping at small shops and food stalls whenever something caught their attention.
Amon tried several local dishes he had never seen before, while Sidney became increasingly interested in every sweet shop they passed.
At one point, Ambrosia bought a strange fruit drink and immediately made a disgusted expression after taking the first sip.
Amon couldn’t stop himself from chuckling. "You were the one who wanted to try it."
"I thought it would taste better." Ambrosia grumbled, playing with the straw.
Sidney took the cup from her. "Let me try."
She drank some before making the exact same expression.
Amon rubbed his face, still smiling. "Both of you have terrible judgment."
Ambrosia lightly hit his shoulder. "You could have warned us."
"How would I know what it tastes like?"
"Then stop laughing."
Amon continued smiling as he watched the two of them argue over the drink.
After the death of his father, it was the first time they had gone out together.
The trio simply walked around.
They ate food from small stalls, visited a few stores, and even stopped near a small lake where several tourists were taking pictures.
Ambrosia eventually handed her phone to a stranger. "Excuse me, could you take a picture of us?"
The stranger smiled and accepted the phone.
The three of them stood together.
Amon stood in the middle while Ambrosia and Sidney stood on either side of him.
"Smile!"
The camera flashed.
Sidney immediately leaned closer to Amon. "Take another one."
"Why?"
"The first one was terrible."
Amon looked at the picture. "You look fine."
"I said take another one."
Amon sighed. "Fine."
They took several more pictures, and eventually even Amon began enjoying himself.
By the time they finished exploring the city, the sun had already begun descending toward the horizon.
The warm orange light spread across the buildings as the three of them returned to the resort.
Amon carried the bags again as they approached the reception desk.
The receptionist greeted them before giving them the details of their reservation.
When the final bill appeared, Amon immediately pulled out his phone.
"I’ll pay."
Ambrosia looked at him. "You?"
Amon nodded and transferred the money.
The transaction completed almost instantly, which made Ambrosia’s expression become suspicious. "Where did you get that much money?"
Amon smiled. "Don’t worry about it."
"Amon..."
"I’m fine."
Before Ambrosia could question him further, Sidney suddenly spoke from behind them.
"His whore girlfriend probably gave him some money."
Ambrosia’s expression immediately changed.
"Sidney!"
The girl flinched slightly.
"Don’t say things like that."
The girl just shrugged off her words without a problem.
Ambrosia shook her head. "That’s disrespectful."
Amon slowly turned toward her with a cold smile.
Sidney noticed his expression and immediately looked away. "...What?"
"Nothing." Amon picked up the bags again. "Let’s go."
The three of them entered the resort and walked toward the room they had booked.
Their accommodation was considerably larger than Amon had expected.
It had two separate bedrooms, a large living room with comfortable sofas, a fully equipped kitchen, and even a private swimming pool connected to the balcony area.
The enormous glass doors overlooking the pool allowed the evening light to fill the room.
Sidney immediately dropped her bag. "This place is actually amazing."
Amon looked around before nodding. "Yeah, it’s pretty good."
Ambrosia placed her luggage beside the sofa. "I’m going to take a shower."
She disappeared into one of the bedrooms before grabbing her clothes and entering the bathroom.
A few moments later, the sound of running water began echoing through the room.
Amon looked toward the bathroom before slowly turning around.
Sidney was standing near the sofa, and the two of them were now alone.
Amon’s expression slowly changed.
A faint, cold smile appeared on his face as he walked toward her.
