Joseph Cordo only glanced toward the strange shadow in the sky before turning his attention back to the stage.

He behaved as if whatever was moving above the mountain had nothing to do with him.

He gave the announcer a small nod, and the man immediately stepped forward with a practiced smile.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the auction will now begin. Please prepare your bidding boards and refrain from causing unnecessary disturbances."

The first item was brought onto the stage, and the crowd immediately became lively as several people began raising their boards.

"Twenty thousand gold coins."

"Twenty-five thousand."

"Thirty thousand."

The bidding continued while Amon barely paid attention to what was happening in front of him.

His eyes remained fixed on the darkness above the mountain, but the enormous silhouette had already disappeared from sight.

’Where did it go?’

Amon couldn’t understand why something that large had been flying above them without anyone reacting.

Even stranger was Joseph Cordo’s behavior. ’He saw it too, yet he doesn’t seem worried at all.’

Amon’s uneasiness continued growing until Ambrosia gently grabbed his hand beneath the table.

She looked at him with concern. "Amon, what happened?"

Amon turned toward her and forced a small smile. "It’s nothing. I was just thinking about something."

Ambrosia stared at him for another moment before slowly nodding.

Amon finally turned his attention back toward the stage when the next item was brought out.

This time, his eyes immediately became interested.

A thin green book floated above a crystal pedestal, surrounded by faint particles of spiritual energy.

The announcer’s expression became noticeably more excited.

"Our next item is something particularly valuable for those interested in spiritual cultivation."

The crowd immediately became quieter.

"This is a Spirit Cultivation Method that was obtained from the elves."

Several people immediately began whispering among themselves.

"Although this is only a low-grade cultivation method, its efficiency is considerably higher than most methods of the same grade."

The announcer paused before revealing its greatest advantage. "More importantly, this method does not conflict with other elemental cultivation methods, allowing the user to cultivate it alongside their existing method."

Amon’s eyes narrowed slightly. ’That’s actually pretty useful.’

The announcer raised his hand. "The starting price is fifty thousand gold coins."

A bidding board immediately rose from somewhere near the front.

"Sixty thousand."

Another board followed.

"Seventy thousand."

"Seventy-five thousand."

The price continued climbing rapidly as wealthy guests competed for the cultivation method.

Amon, however, remained completely still.

The strange feeling in his chest hadn’t disappeared. If anything, it had become worse.

’...Something is wrong.’

He didn’t know what was coming, but every instinct he possessed was telling him to leave.

Then a red System window suddenly appeared in front of his eyes.

Amon’s pupils contracted as his face immediately lost its color. ’What the fuck?’

He didn’t even have time to think about the quest before the mountain suddenly shook.

A tremendous roar descended from above.

Amon immediately grabbed Ambrosia and pulled her away from the chairs.

"Run!"

They had barely moved when something enormous crashed down from the sky.

A massive wyvern slammed into the auction area, crushing several people beneath its body and sending chairs flying in every direction.

Screams erupted throughout the cavern as the crowd finally realized they were under attack.

Amon looked up and saw a young man with golden hair standing proudly on the wyvern’s back.

The man spread his arms as though he were performing on a stage.

"My name is Lucian Aurell!" His voice echoed throughout the mountain. "I am the Harbinger of Justice!"

The wyvern opened its enormous mouth and released a torrent of flames.

The auction instantly descended into chaos as fire swept across the stalls and people desperately tried to escape.

Amon didn’t bother watching as he grabbed Ambrosia and ran toward the forest surrounding the mountain.

As they escaped, Amon looked back and immediately noticed something strange.

Joseph Cordo wasn’t running with everyone else.

Instead, he calmly pulled out a small device and activated it.

A strange light covered his body before his flesh began transforming into liquid that got soaked into the ground.

Amon’s expression turned ugly. "Of course he knew something would happen!"

He immediately lifted Ambrosia onto his shoulder and increased his speed.

Ambrosia was startled by the sudden movement, but she quickly realized just how fast Amon was moving.

"You’re much stronger than I thought."

Amon ignored the compliment and continued sprinting through the dark forest.

Ambrosia looked back at the destruction before her expression changed. "I know that man."

Amon glanced at her while avoiding a thick tree. "Who is he?"

"Lucian Aurell. He’s one of the strongest adventurers in the kingdom."

Amon frowned as another roar echoed behind them. "Then why the hell is he killing everyone?"

Ambrosia sighed. "He’s obsessed with being a hero and believes he’s some kind of savior."

Amon shook his head. "Killing everyone isn’t exactly heroic."

"I know." Ambrosia gave him a bitter smile. "He’s a madman who would probably eat someone’s dick if he believed it would somehow serve justice."

Amon’s expression became strange. "That’s a disturbing level of dedication."

By then, many of the auction guests had already fled into the jungle.

They desperately pushed through the trees, hoping the darkness would hide them from Lucian and his wyvern.

Unfortunately, Lucian seemed to have expected exactly that.

His loud voice echoed through the forest.

"Run wherever you want!" His laughter followed as the wyvern flew overhead. "But be careful of my children!"

Amon’s expression immediately changed. ’Children?’

Something suddenly slammed into him from the side.

Amon lost his balance and crashed into the ground, but he instinctively wrapped both arms around Ambrosia and protected her as they rolled through the dirt.

He quickly pushed himself upright and pulled out his battle axe and sword from the spatial bracelet.

A strange creature stood several meters away.

It resembled a small dinosaur made from clay, with a thick body and sharp teeth that looked far too real.

The creature released a distorted roar before charging toward him.

Amon pushed Ambrosia behind a nearby tree. "Stay there while I deal with this."

The monster lunged with its head aimed at him.

Amon stepped aside at the last moment and swung his axe into its exposed side.

The blow tore away a chunk of clay, but the creature barely slowed down.

Amon’s eyes narrowed as he noticed the damaged area slowly pulling itself back together.

’Regeneration?’ He quickly changed his approach.

Instead of attacking its body again, he waited until it opened its mouth and drove his sword directly through the creature’s head, then sent a Frost spear with his other hand.

The monster broke apart in an instant.

Amon stared at its body for a moment before noticing another one nearby.

A man was desperately trying to escape several of the creatures, but they surrounded him before tearing him to the ground.

Amon’s expression hardened. ’There are way too many.’

He immediately grabbed Ambrosia, picked her up, and began running again.

More creatures emerged from between the trees, their numbers increasing with every passing second.

Soon, Amon could hear dozens of footsteps chasing them.

’This isn’t a group.’ He looked back briefly. ’It’s a fucking army.’

Amon increased his speed until the sound of rushing water suddenly reached his ears.

He immediately changed direction and pushed through the trees.

A massive waterfall appeared before them, its white water crashing into the darkness below.

Amon stopped at the edge as Ambrosia looked at him with confusion. "Amon, what are you thinking?"

He slowly turned around.

The jungle behind them began filling with the same clay creatures.

One after another, they emerged from the darkness and started moving toward them.

Ambrosia’s expression became frightened when she looked at the waterfall.

"Amon..."

He turned and glanced at the waterfall.

Even if he could kill the monsters, there was no way he could defeat the adventurer leading them.

There was nowhere else to go.

"Amon, what are you thinking?"

Amon tightened his grip around her. "Trust me."

Before she could ask anything else, Amon turned around and jumped.

The two of them disappeared over the edge of the waterfall as the monsters rushed toward them.
