Amon finally arrived at the Adventurer Bureau the following afternoon.

As he walked through the familiar entrance, he couldn’t help wondering why Richard had specifically asked him to come.

It had already been a whole day since the incident beneath the mountain, yet the events of that night still felt strangely fresh in his mind.

Ambrosia had spent most of the morning organizing everything she had gathered.

She had managed to collect were enough to build a strong case against the Cordo family.

’Hopefully, she doesn’t put herself in danger again.’

He walked through the busy lobby before making his way toward the stairs.

Amon eventually reached Richard’s office and knocked twice before opening the door.

Richard immediately looked up from his desk.

A smile appeared on his face when he noticed Amon. "You’re here. Come in and take a seat."

Amon walked inside and sat down in the chair opposite him.

He leaned back comfortably before looking at the older man. "So, what was so important that you needed me here?"

Richard’s smile slowly disappeared. "I wanted to talk to you about something serious."

Amon’s expression became slightly more attentive.

Richard folded his hands together on the desk before speaking. "The number of dungeon-related incidents has increased significantly over the last few days."

Amon’s eyes narrowed. "More dungeon abnormalities?"

Richard nodded slowly. "Exactly."

He picked up a document from the desk and placed it in front of Amon.

"Several newly formed dungeons have been behaving strangely. The mana inside them becomes unstable without warning, and some of the monsters are far stronger than their recorded levels suggest."

Amon remained silent as he looked at the document.

Richard continued speaking. "We’ve already lost several new adventurers because of it."

Amon’s eyebrows lowered. "They’re dying inside low-level dungeons?"

"Yes."

Richard’s voice became heavier. "The problem is that we don’t understand why it’s happening. We’ve sent experienced adventurers to investigate, but even they haven’t been able to determine the cause."

Amon leaned farther back in his chair. "So there isn’t any solution yet?"

Richard shook his head. "Not one that we can rely on."

Amon stared at the ceiling for a moment before returning his attention to Richard.

The information immediately reminded him of the dungeon in Rove and the strange abnormalities he had encountered there.

Richard suddenly pulled another document from the pile.

"There’s something else." He pushed it across the desk. "You requested permission to enter a low-to-mid-level dungeon."

Amon glanced at the document and nodded. "Yes."

Richard studied him carefully. "Do you really intend to go?"

Amon nodded again. "I do."

That dungeon contained the other half of Seraphina’s Frostheart Cultivation Method, and Amon had no intention of letting the opportunity disappear simply because the dungeon had become more dangerous.

Richard frowned. "You understand that these abnormal dungeons are considerably more dangerous, right?"

He paused before answering. "I’m not going alone. I have a partner."

Richard remained silent for several seconds.

"Fine." Richard sighed. "Just be careful."

Amon nodded before relaxing back into his chair.

After a moment, another thought came to his mind. "By the way, do you know Lucian Aurell?"

Richard’s expression immediately became strange. "You heard about the massacre?"

Amon blinked. "What massacre?"

Richard stared at him before letting out a tired sigh. "You really don’t know."

Amon shook his head.

Richard leaned back in his chair. "Someone manipulated Lucian Aurell into attacking six different hidden black markets across the kingdom."

’Wait, six of them? Really?’

Richard’s voice became grim. "The attacks were devastating. At least a thousand people are believed to have died, although the final number hasn’t been confirmed yet."

Amon remained silent. ’So it wasn’t just the auction in Krut.’

Richard continued, "Lucian apparently believed all six locations were connected to criminal organizations."

Suddenly, a thought surfaced in Amon’s mind as he asked. "Did all six black markets belong to the Cordo family?"

Richard hesitated before nodding. "There isn’t enough evidence to prove it, but I believe they did."

He leaned forward slightly. "Do you know something that I should know about?"

Amon shook his head without changing his expression. "No."

Richard studied him for a moment but eventually accepted the answer.

Amon quickly changed the subject. "Why hasn’t the Royal Family stopped Lucian?"

Richard’s expression became serious again. "Because Lucian isn’t an ordinary adventurer."

He paused before explaining. "He’s one of the King’s personal beneficiaries. Years ago, Lucian saved the King’s life during a dungeon disaster."

Amon’s eyes widened slightly. ’Wait, Lucian looked so young though...is he older than he looks?’

"Because of that, the King owes him a considerable debt." Richard’s fingers tapped against the desk.

"Lucian is also one of the Seven Great Powers of the kingdom."

Amon’s expression became more serious. "Seven great powers?"

"They’re individuals whose strength is important enough to influence the balance of the entire kingdom."

Richard sighed. "If one of them suddenly dies, the consequences could be enormous. That’s why the Royal Family can’t simply execute Lucian, even if they wanted to."

Amon remained silent for a while before slowly nodding. "So he’s basically too useful to kill."

"That’s one way of putting it."

Amon let out a quiet sigh and stood from his chair. "Then approve my dungeon request."

Richard nodded. "I’ll take care of it. You don’t need to worry."

Amon turned toward the door and began walking out.

Suddenly he stopped and looked back at Richard. "One more thing."

Richard raised an eyebrow.

"I don’t know why, but something felt wrong about Krut City."

Richard nodded slowly. "I’ll look into it."

Amon gave him a final nod before leaving the office.

As he walked down the stairs, his expression became thoughtful. ’Hopefully, Richard finds something.’

---

Amon returned home later that afternoon.

He walked inside and found Sidney standing in front of the open refrigerator.

Sidney was standing in front of the open refrigerator.

She wore a thin white tank top that clung tightly to her full breasts.

Her extremely short black shorts rode high on her hips and barely covered the underside of her round ass.

Every small shift of her weight made the thin material creep higher, revealing more smooth skin.

Amon stopped at the kitchen entrance. "Are you looking for something?"

Sidney mumbled without looking back, her voice still lazy from sleep. "I’m hungry."

He walked over to the counter. "Anything specific you want?"

Sidney looked at him suspiciously. "Why are you suddenly being so generous?"

Amon frowned. "I’ve always been generous with you."

She closed the refrigerator and crossed her arms. "You’ve been acting like you hate me lately."

"I don’t hate you," Amon said calmly. "I just don’t like your attitude."

Her face immediately became annoyed again.

Amon continued, "And about the punishment, I’ll stop doing it if you start behaving properly."

Sidney reached toward the counter and picked up a glass.

Before Amon could understand what she was doing, she deliberately dropped it onto the floor.

Crash!

The glass shattered across the tiles.

Sidney continued smiling innocently as she looked at him. "I’m never changing my attitude."

Amon stared at the broken glass before he slowly looked back at her.

Sidney’s smile remained perfectly intact.

Amon took a long breath through his nose and rubbed his forehead. ’One of these days, I’m seriously going to choke her out.’

Sidney tilted her head innocently. "What?"

Amon stared at her for another few seconds before finally turning toward the kitchen counter. "Sit down."

Sidney blinked. "Why?"

"Because feeding you is important before the punishment."

She smiled again and obediently pulled out a chair.

Amon opened the refrigerator and began looking through the ingredients.

Behind him, Sidney quietly watched him with a small smile on her face.

...Like she was waiting for the punishment more than food.
