10,000x Rebate System: Every Return Makes Me Stronger
Chapter 52: Returning HomeThe first light of dawn was beginning to spread across the sky when Amon and Ambrosia finally returned to the resort.
Both of them looked exhausted after spending the night in the forest.
Neither of them said much as they quietly entered their room.
Amon closed the door behind them before turning toward Ambrosia. "You should get some rest."
Ambrosia rubbed her tired eyes and nodded. "We have to leave in about two hours anyway, so I’ll sleep until then."
"That’s what I was thinking."
She started walking toward her room before stopping and looking back at him. "Tell Sidney that we’re leaving soon."
Amon nodded. "I’ll wake her up."
Ambrosia gave him a tired smile before disappearing into her room.
Amon let out a long sigh and walked toward Sidney’s room.
Fortunately, he had the master key, so getting inside wasn’t difficult.
Sidney was still deeply asleep on the large bed.
She lay on her stomach with only a thin black bra and matching lace panties covering her.
The soft fabric of the panties had ridden up slightly between her cheeks, and the morning light that slipped through the curtains traced the smooth curve of her bare back and the full shape of her ass.
Amon’s eyes moved to the open bag beside the bed.
Inside he could clearly see a bright pink vibrator and a pair of fluffy pink handcuffs.
’What the hell was she thinking, bringing those things in the trip.’
He looked away with a tired sigh and walked closer to the bed.
He rubbed his palm once, then brought it down hard across her ass.
Smack!
Sidney jerked awake with a sharp gasp, her body tensing as the sting spread across her skin.
"We’re leaving in a few hours," Amon said flatly.
Sidney groaned and buried her face back into the pillow. "Wake me when it’s time..."
Amon’s hand came down again, another firm slap that made her soft flesh jiggle.
As he stepped outside, Sidney’s sleepy voice followed him. "And don’t forget my bag."
"I won’t." Amon closed the door and rubbed his face.
He let out a small breath before turning his gaze toward the outside.
His mind wandered back to the mountains as he wondered, ’...What happened to all those items that were put up for sale?’
Surely, some of the items might still be there. ’...It might be stupid, but should I check the place out?’
He remained silent, debating whether it was the right decision. ’Urgh, I hope the risk is worth it.’
He took a deep breath before leaving the resort.
---
Half an hour later, Amon returned to the open area beneath the mountain.
The place looked completely different from the lively bazaar he had seen the night before.
Burned stalls were scattered across the ground, broken weapons lay beneath piles of debris, and the remains of the auction area were covered in ash.
Several bodies had already been removed, but enough evidence of the massacre remained to make the entire place feel strangely quiet.
Amon slowly walked through the wreckage. "Most of the good stuff is already gone."
He kicked aside a broken piece of wood and sighed.
He had secretly hoped that the chaos would leave behind something valuable, but whoever had cleaned up the place had been thorough.
"That stupid Harbinger of Justice probably took everything."
Amon continued searching anyway and after several minutes, he finally stopped.
’Wait.’
He activated Merchant’s Divine Insight and slowly scanned the debris.
Most of the remaining objects were worthless, but something beneath a collapsed display caught his attention.
Amon crouched down and pulled away several pieces of wood.
As he saw a thin green book was lying underneath.
His eyes widened. "The Spirit Cultivation Method."
The exact same method from the auction had somehow survived the destruction.
Amon immediately picked it up and checked its value.
His grin became even wider when another object appeared beneath it.
A blue crystal stone was partially buried in the dirt.
The Azure Spirit Stone.
Amon’s happiness immediately shot through the roof.
"Jackpot."
He quickly placed both items inside his spatial bracelet before looking around one last time.
When he confirmed that nobody was nearby, he immediately turned around and left.
---
Later that morning the three of them sat together on the train heading home.
Amon sat in the middle seat. Ambrosia rested her head on his right shoulder while Sidney leaned against his left.
Both women were exhausted and had fallen asleep almost as soon as the train started moving.
Amon looked between them before quietly sighing. "At least they’re sleeping peacefully."
He didn’t bother moving them as he leaned back against the seat and opened his System interface.
Amon looked at the first reward he got from helping Ambrosia.
[Truthseeker’s Eye.]
Amon activated the newly acquired skill as his vision changed almost instantly.
The world remained exactly the same, but two distinct red and green colour began appearing around people.
He could now distinguish between truth and falsehood more clearly, detect inconsistencies in statements, and identify concealed information that ordinary perception couldn’t reveal.
More importantly, the skill could detect traces of deception within magical contracts and written documents.
Amon nodded slowly. "This is actually pretty useful."
He then opened the second reward.
[Spatial Steps.]
[Description: A movement technique that allows the user to briefly fold the space between two points.]
[Effect: The user can instantly move a short distance by stepping through a spatial gap.]
[Limitations: Range and frequency depend on the user’s spatial affinity and mana reserves.]
Amon’s eyes immediately brightened. "So I can teleport?"
The description was slightly more complicated than simple teleportation, but the basic principle was similar.
Amon immediately wanted to test it.
He glanced toward the empty space beside him before looking at the two people sleeping on his shoulders.
’Maybe later.’
He didn’t want to disturb them just to experiment with a new skill.
Amon leaned farther back into the seat and closed his eyes.
The gentle movement of the train gradually became soothing.
Despite the danger, the investigation, the auction, and nearly getting himself killed, Amon couldn’t help feeling satisfied.
He had gained a valuable cultivation method, an extremely expensive spirit stone, two powerful skills.
More information about the strange events happening around the kingdom.
Amon quietly smiled. ’That trip was actually pretty good.’
Just as he was getting comfortable, the system notification returned.
He slowly opened his eyes and stared blankly at it.
---
[New Wife Candidate Detected.]
[Target: Ambrosia Doxie.]
[Would you like to register Felicia Vale as a potential wife candidate?]
[Yes / No]
---
’....Are you stupid system.’ Amon thought, anger bubbling in his blood. ’Why the fuck would I want my foster mother to be my--.’
Before he could even complete his thoughts, another system message appeared.
----
[The System chooses Wife Candidates depending on the host’s desire to have them.]
----
"....."
Amon remained as still as a statue for the rest of the trip.
