Amon slowly rode his Mana Bike through the morning streets.

The morning air was cool against his face, and Ambrosia sat behind him with one hand resting lightly against his shoulder.

She looked around for a while before speaking. "When did you learn to drive so well?"

Amon’s hands remained steady on the handlebars. "My father taught me once."

She looked at him suspiciously. "I don’t remember Gordon ever telling me that."

Amon chuckled awkwardly. "It happened a long time ago. I guess it just never came up."

Ambrosia narrowed her eyes at the back of his head but eventually let the matter go. "You really are becoming quite the strange young man."

Amon smiled. ’If only you knew.’

Amon occasionally slowed down whenever they reached a crowded intersection.

After several minutes of silence, Ambrosia spoke again. "There have been a lot of strange things happening in the world lately."

Amon glanced at her through the corner of his eye.

"You tell me." He looked toward the road ahead. "There’s even a war going on in a neighboring kingdom. Things have been getting pretty strange lately."

Ambrosia’s grip on his shoulder became slightly tighter.

"That’s what worries me," she said seriously. "I feel like someone is deliberately trying to mess with the world."

Amon’s eyebrows rose slightly. "Deliberately?"

"I don’t know how to explain it."

Ambrosia looked toward the distant buildings. "But so many unrelated things have been happening at almost the same time..."

She paused before quietly mumbling. "Something bad might really happen to the world."

Amon’s expression became thoughtful. "You really think something is going to happen?"

Ambrosia smiled faintly. "It might just be a woman’s intuition."

Amon chuckled. "Let’s hope your intuition is wrong."

"Let’s hope so."

The conversation ended there, and the two continued riding toward the courthouse.

About twenty minutes later, they finally reached their destination.

Amon slowed the Mana Bike and parked it along the opposite side of the road.

The courthouse stood before them. Its enormous stone pillars rose toward the sky.

It was decorated with carvings of scales, swords, and blindfolded figures holding golden balances.

Years of rain and wind had darkened the pale stone, giving the entire building an imposing and solemn appearance.

A massive staircase led toward the entrance, with two ancient statues standing on either side as silent guardians.

Ambrosia climbed down from the bike and straightened her dress.

She looked at Amon and smiled. "Thank you for bringing me."

Amon nodded. "Be careful."

"I will." Ambrosia waved at him before turning toward the courthouse.

Amon remained seated on the bike, watching her as she approached the road.

She stepped off the pavement, and everything happened in a matter of seconds.

A small object suddenly flew from somewhere across the street. The dart struck Ambrosia directly in the arm.

Her eyes widened as she looked down at the small projectile sticking out of her sleeve.

"What...?"

Her sentence never finished as her body suddenly lost its strength.

Ambrosia stumbled forward, her knees giving out beneath her.

Before she could hit the ground, a dark-colored car suddenly came speeding toward her.

The rear door opened, and two people reached out from inside and grabbed her.

Ambrosia was pulled into the vehicle in a single motion, and the car accelerated away.

Amon’s expression turned cold. "Fuck!"

He immediately twisted the throttle.

The Mana Bike roared to life as he shot into the road. He didn’t care about traffic anymore.

His eyes remained locked onto the fleeing vehicle while his mind raced through everything that had just happened.

’The dart was probably some kind of paralysis or sleeping agent.’

Amon grabbed his phone with one hand while keeping control of the bike with the other.

He immediately called Richard, and the man picked up after only a few rings.

"Amon?"

"My mother was kidnapped!" Amon got straight to the point. "They took her right outside the courthouse. I’m following them."

Richard’s tone changed instantly. "What? Where are you?"

Amon quickly gave him the location and then looked ahead. "I’m behind them right now."

"Don’t do anything reckless!" Richard’s voice became urgent. "Be careful, Amon! And whatever you do, don’t kill anyone in broad daylight!"

Richard sighed heavily before he added. "If someone dies, make it look like an accident."

Richard continued before Amon could respond. "I’ll send adventurers with tracking and assassination skills to help you."

Amon nodded. "Send them quickly."

He ended the call and immediately opened another contact.

Felicia answered shortly afterward. "What happened?"

"The Cordo family kidnapped my mother." Amon’s voice was cold as he continued riding. "I don’t need any help right now, but I’d be grateful if you could book a hospital room."

There was a brief silence on the other end. "I will handle it."

Amon ended the call and placed the phone inside his spatial bracelet.

He looked ahead, and the road suddenly split into two directions.

In a matter of seconds, another identical car appeared.

Amon’s eyes narrowed. ’Two cars?’

Both vehicles looked almost exactly the same, and both were moving at nearly identical speeds.

Amon focused his eyes, and he could make out several figures inside each vehicle.

At least five people were sitting inside both cars.

’They’re trying to distract me.’ Amon’s expression became colder. ’If I choose the wrong one, they’ll probably use the opportunity to take her somewhere else.’

He quickly shifted his attention between the two cars.

Both vehicles were deliberately changing positions with each other.

Suddenly, the rear window of one car rolled down, and a man leaned out.

Something glowing appeared in his hand.

Amon immediately recognised it. "Mana bomb?"

The man threw it, and a glowing sphere flew toward Amon before exploding in the middle of the road.

BOOM!

The explosion sent debris and dust flying through the air.

Amon leaned his body to the side and narrowly avoided the blast.

Another mana bomb came flying toward him.

Amon shifted his weight and passed it without slowing down.

The explosions continued behind him, shaking the road while frightened drivers quickly moved out of their way.

Amon kept his eyes on the vehicles. ’They’re probably trying to throw me off.’

He increased his speed, and the cars eventually left the crowded city streets behind.

Buildings became fewer and fewer until the road turned almost completely deserted.

The sounds of the city disappeared behind them.

Suddenly, both cars slowed down.

Amon reduced his speed as well.

An empty stretch of road surrounded by patches of wild grass and scattered trees remained around them.

’They might be planning to kill me here.’ Amon’s grip tightened around the handlebars.

If they had kidnapped Ambrosia because of the Cordo case, then they probably didn’t want anyone following them.

If Amon was the only person chasing them, killing him here would solve another problem.

The two cars separated slightly.

One moved toward the left side of the road while the other remained farther ahead.

Amon watched them carefully. ’Which one has Ambrosia?’

Amon lowered his body over the Mana Bike as one of the cars skidded and stopped while the other remained a little farther away.

Amon kept his eyes on both of them. He quickly recognised that the car farther ahead had Ambrosia in it.

The car close to him opened up, and five people slowly walked out.

’...Ah, I am going to fucking kill you all.’

His right hand tightened around the accelerator, and the Mana Bike suddenly surged forward.

"Wait! What is he doing--."

"Move! Move!"

Ignoring their shouts, Amon accelerated with everything the vehicle could give him.

He jumped out at the last second and rolled to his feet.

BOOM!

The Mana Bike slammed violently into the side of the car, hitting two of those who weren’t quick enough.
