10,000x Rebate System: Every Return Makes Me Stronger
Chapter 79: BrutalityAmon took advantage of the moment without wasting even a second.
The instant the Mana Bike crashed into the car, he rolled across the road and immediately pushed himself back onto his feet.
Amon reached toward his spatial bracelet and pulled out his battleaxe.
Two of the men who had been struck by the bike were already lying on the ground, groaning in pain.
One clutched his broken leg while the other struggled to push himself up, blood running from a cut across his forehead.
Amon didn’t bother with them as his eyes moved toward the remaining three men.
They had already drawn their weapons.
One carried a short sword, another held a thick metal baton, while the third had a pair of curved daggers.
’Three against one.’ Amon tightened his grip around the axe. ’This will be quick.’
The man with the sword charged first.
He swung the weapon toward Amon’s neck with enough force to kill an ordinary person.
Amon simply raised his battleaxe.
Clang!
The sword struck the axe and was immediately pushed aside.
Before the man could recover, Amon stepped forward and drove his shoulder into his chest.
CRACK!
The man’s ribs bent beneath the impact.
He stumbled backward, coughing violently as Amon grabbed his wrist and twisted.
Another crack echoed through the empty road.
The man’s sword dropped from his hand.
"AH!"
Amon kicked him in the stomach.
The man flew backward and crashed against the side of the damaged car.
The second attacker came from behind, and the metal baton swung toward Amon’s head.
Amon ducked underneath it.
The baton passed over his hair, and Amon immediately turned around and swung the blunt side of his battleaxe into the man’s knee.
CRACK!
The man’s leg buckled, and he dropped to one knee, his face twisting in agony.
Amon grabbed him by the collar and slammed him into the ground.
The impact knocked the air from his lungs.
Before the man could recover, Amon grabbed his arm and stomped down on his forearm.
Another sickening crack followed, and the baton fell from his fingers. "Fuck! I am a really nice person, but you fucks are sick!!"
Amon yelled as he turned toward the third man, who hesitated to attack.
The man tightened his grip on his daggers before rushing forward with both weapons raised.
The first dagger came toward his stomach, but Amon stepped aside easily.
The second dagger followed toward his ribs.
Amon caught the attack with the shaft of his axe before grabbing the man’s arm.
He pulled, and the attacker stumbled forward.
Amon drove his knee into the man’s abdomen and followed with an elbow to his jaw.
Blood sprayed from the man’s mouth as he staggered backward, but Amon wasn’t finished.
Amon grabbed his shoulder and twisted his body violently.
CRACK!
The man’s shoulder was dislocated. He screamed and dropped one of his daggers.
Amon kicked the back of his knee, forcing him onto the ground before striking his thigh with the flat side of his axe.
The man’s muscles spasmed from the impact.
He tried to crawl away, but Amon grabbed the back of his shirt and pulled him back.
"Cordo family sent you, didn’t they?"
The man gritted his teeth. "Go to hell."
Amon’s expression remained calm as he struck the man’s arm with the handle of his axe.
CRACK!
The man’s answer immediately changed into a scream.
"Who sent you!?"
"Cordo family!"
Amon let go of the man as he walked toward the car that was parked just farther away.
Those men inside had their windows rolled down as if they were waiting for a good show.
But the horrified look on their faces showed they didn’t like it.
"Fuck!"
Amon heard the driver curse from the top of his lungs.
Suddenly, the car spun around and accelerated straight toward him.
Amon sprinted to meet it as if he didn’t care about his body.
At the last possible second, he activated the Drakeheart Scale Armor.
Black scales erupted from the locket and covered his entire body in a living, skin-tight layer.
The front windshield shattered as his armored body crashed through it.
Glass exploded inward.
Amon landed inside the cramped interior of the moving car, the scales protecting him from the worst of the impact and the flying shards.
The people inside screamed as the car swerved violently across the road.
Amon barely managed to steady himself.
The interior was cramped, with five people packed inside.
Ambrosia was unconscious near the rear door, her body slumped against the seat.
Amon’s expression immediately changed.
"Ambrosia!"
Before he could get to her, those assailants inside the car began to attack him.
One swung a heavy knife at Amon’s neck.
The blade scraped harmlessly across the black scales and left only a shallow white scratch.
SHING!
The wrist blade extended from Amon’s hand.
Amon drove one wrist blade straight through the man’s shoulder, twisting it to tear muscle and tendon.
The man screamed and fell back against the seat, his arm useless.
A second passenger tried to press a mana baton against Amon’s side.
The discharge crackled across the scales but failed to penetrate.
Amon slammed his elbow into the man’s throat hard enough to crush cartilage, then followed with a short punch that shattered the man’s jaw.
Teeth and blood sprayed across the car floor.
The third man who sat in the front row managed to get an arm around Amon’s neck from behind and started choking him.
Amon reached back, sank both wrist blades into the man’s thighs, and ripped them sideways.
His muscle tore with a wet sound.
The man’s grip failed as he howled in pain.
Amon twisted, drove a knee into his ribs, and felt at least two of them give way.
The entire fight happened while the car continued speeding down the empty road.
The driver shouted something, but Amon couldn’t hear him over the chaos.
Ambrosia remained limp against the door, still unconscious from the dart.
Amon shoved the three injured men toward the opposite side of the car, using his armored body as a barrier to keep them away from Ambrosia.
One of them still tried to stab at his side. The knife skidded off the scales again.
Amon grabbed the man’s wrist, bent it until the bones snapped, then drove a wrist blade up under the man’s ribs.
The driver finally lost control of the situation.
He reached for something under the seat, another mana bomb.
Amon saw the motion and lunged forward. He slammed the driver against the wheel.
Without any mercy, he dragged one wrist blade cleanly across the man’s throat, cutting the windpipe without fully severing the major arteries.
The driver made a wet, choking sound and collapsed forward.
At the same time, he activated the mana bomb in the last second, even though he was on the death’s door.
"Fuck!"
Amon yanked the door open, scooped Ambrosia against his chest, and launched both of them out of the speeding car.
The wind violently rushed into the vehicle.
They hit the ground hard. Amon twisted in mid-air so that his armored body took the full impact, curling around Ambrosia to shield her.
The scales absorbed most of the force, but the landing still drove the air from his lungs.
Behind them, the car continued for another two seconds before the mana bomb detonated.
BOOM!
A bright flash and a wave of heat rolled over them as the vehicle flipped and tore apart in a burst of metal and fire.
Amon lay on the cracked asphalt, still holding Ambrosia tightly against him.
His armor was scored and dusty, but intact.
He carefully shifted, pressed his ear to her chest, and listened.
Even though it wasn’t as fast as it normally should be, she was still breathing.
’...She was alive.’
Amon remained on the road while the burning wreckage lay not far away.
His fingers tightened around Ambrosia.
"...Fuck my life."
Amon cursed under his breath and stared toward the sky.
