"Junior Brother."

"I have absolute faith in your strength."

"You alone are worth ten disciples."

"Please hold that side," Gu Chen cried out from behind, raising his hands, and showing thumbs up to Gu Fan, "We believe in you!"

Several disciples immediately understood what Gu chen was doing and they secretly exchanged awkward looks.

’Young Master Chen...’

"So much trust?!" Gu Fan laughed, "I feel touched."

Meanwhile, the Phantom Sirens did not waste time bragging and chitchating like the demonic cultivators from before. They were here to kill and go back to their hideout.

And the Phantom Sirens attacked first. Their chains shot forward like silver snakes towards Gu Fan.

But to their surprise, instead of retreating... Gu Fan charged as well.

"What?!" The Phantom Sirens were startled, "He is coming toward us!"

"Die, you handsome little meat!" a tall and busty Phantom Siren sneered, whipping her right arm forward to launch her sharp steel chain-blade directly straight toward Gu Fan’s throat with terrifying speed.

Gu Fan smiled, showing his teeth like a predator, "Unfortunately for you, I tend to make killing me hard."

And as her chain-blade whipped toward Gu Fan’s throat.

Gu Fan simply raised one hand.

Clang!

Gu Fan caught the spinning chain-blade right in mid-air with precision.

"What?!" The masked Siren’s eyebrows furrowed in shock, aggressively trying to pull her weapon back, but Gu Fan’s iron grip was completely immovable, "My Weapon... Let it go!"

"Get over here, you cheap whore," Gu Fan snarled, wrapping the thick steel chain around his forearm and yanked the chain towards himself with force, "My turn!"

The strong pull tripped the female assassin off her feet, dragging her through the thick swamp straight toward his muscular chest.

And exactly as she flew into his striking range, Gu Fan reached out with his right hand, grabbed her by the slender shoulder, and without a moment of hesitation, Gu Fan planted his boot square into the center of her chest, and ripped her right arm entirely out of its shoulder socket with a deeply sickening, incredibly loud sound of snapping bone and tearing flesh.

RIP!

"AAAAAGGGHH!" the Phantom Siren shrieked at the absolute top of her lungs in pure, unadulterated agony, as a blood sprayed out of her ruined shoulder stump, covering Gu Fan’s dark robes in thick, steaming gore.

The Phantom Siren squirmed on the ground like a dying fish, throwing her legs like crazy, holding her severed arm.

"Don’t be so dramatic. It is just a scratch," Gu Fan simply threw the bleeding arm away like a piece of useless garbage, aggressively kicking the screaming woman into the mud.

The severed arm flew through the air before landing beside another Phantom Siren.

The woman stared at the arm, then looked at her senior sister and then back at the arm.

"..."

"You monster!" The female roared furiously lunging at Gu Fan’s exposed back as she thrust both of her sharp chain-blades toward his spine.

Her chain-blades danced like silver dragons. He spun on his heels with terrifying speed, stepping inside her guard before she could even actively follow through.

With one hand he grabbed her by the wrist, while his other hand covered her masked face.

"Let’s see how beautiful you truly are under that cheap mask," Gu Fan whispered completely coldly, aggressively channeling his Corrosive Qi straight into his heavy palm.

And the very next second, a corrosive dark purple Qi erupted from his skin, melting right perfectly through the silver mask first. Then her flesh. And then the muscle.

"Mmph! MMMMPHH!" The siren screamed in paralyzing pain, but her muffled shrieks soon died inside her melting throat, as Gu Fan’s corrosive Qi completely melted her skin, her eyes, and her muscle tissue into a highly bubbling, steaming sludge of rotten meat and exposed bone.

Finally when he was done, Gu Fan casually released his grip, and the female assassin dropped dead onto the swampy ground, her head reduced to a dissolved skull leaking thick, black, bubbling acidic fluids.

Her face dissolved into bubbling black sludge before her body collapsed lifelessly, and the battlefield suddenly became silent.

Even the Phantom Sirens hesitated.

One whispered nervously,

"...Senior Sister."

"I think..."

"Shut up!"

Even the injured, battered Gu Clan disciples, who were actively supposed to be defending the perimeter, completely froze in deeply trembling horror, as they watched their so-called ’trash’ young master turn the ambush into an horrifying slaughterhouse.

Meanwhile...

Gu Chen elegantly pushed back two assassins using his elegant and smooth sword art. His sword danced beautifully. His movements were flawless.

Gu Chen smiled inwardly feeling so good for himself as he effortlessly played around, putting on a show for the Gu Clan disciples.

’Surely everyone is watching...’ Gu Chen thought to himself, "Now what will Gu fan do?’

However when he glanced sideways, he was in for a shock. Nobody was looking at him.

Every disciple was staring at Gu Fan and not him.

He heard one mutter, "...He ripped her arm off..."

Another swallowed, "...He burnt her face."

A third quietly stepped out from behind someone else, "I am suddenly feeling much safer..."

Gu Chen’s smile froze.

"..."

His eyes searched for Gu Fan and when he saw him, instead of finding a mangled corpse, Gu Chen saw Gu Fan bathed in blood, laughing out loud like an unhinged, sadistic demon god as he swept through the female assassins using nothing but raw violence.

He watched Gu Fan duck under a sweeping chain-blade, plunging his claw straight into another Siren’s stomach, ripping a massive bloody chunk of her thick intestines out as she dropped dead on the ground before she could even scream in pain.

"This bastard!" Gu Chen’s face twisted in unimaginable rage as he gritted his teeth so heavily that his gums began to bleed.

His elegant, and righteous swordsmanship was entirely overshadowed by Gu Fan’s deeply terrifying, and overwhelming dominance.

And the elite Gu Clan disciples weren’t even looking at Gu Chen, they were captivated by Gu Fan, staring at him with their eyes wide open and jaws dropped with awe, respect and an overwhelming fear that had deeply ingrained in their souls. They were having trouble deciding who had been the true monster all along?

On the other hand, the Phantom Sirens when saw their numerical advantage dwindle so rapidly under the absolute horrific dance of Gu Fan, they soon realised that they had kicked a hornet’s nest.

Seeing no other way around it, a tall Siren blew a highly piercing whistle signaling an immediate retreat.

"RETREAT!" One after the other, more and more sirens yelled and began to pull their distance from the Gu Clan disciples. Even the two sirens fighting Gu Chen did not push their luck and flew back hastily.

The surviving female assassins abandoned the dead sisters, and using their agile movement arts leaped back straight up into the thick canopy, rapidly retreating entirely deeper into the dark woods toward the Weeping Gorge.

"Run slower!" Gu Fan however was not going to let them slip out of his grasp so easily. He laughed loudly while chasing the assassins, "We still haven’t gotten to know each other... Don’t break my heart. Come back. I promise... I will be gentle."

"You girls call yourselves professionals?" Gu Fan continued to taunt, "Shouldn’t you finish what you started?"

"You..." One Phantom Siren became so furious that she stopped and turned back. However the next second, she was flying across the swamp after Gu Fan casually kicked her away.

The remaining Sirens finally understood.

This wasn’t prey.

It was a disaster wearing human skin.

"Do not let them regroup!" Gu Chen roared, pointing his glowing silver sword straight at the escaping shadows, "Quickly pursue them to their heavily hidden lair!"

Gu Chen then turned towards Gu Fan, who was wiping the blood off his hands onto a dead Siren’s tight leather clothes.

"Brother Fan," Gu Chen called out, forcing a fake smile, "Your methods are... somewhat crude."

"But reasonably effective," Gu Fan looked at him and taunted, "So are you trying to thank me or what?"

"I am praising you." Gu Chen barely managed to get those words out of his lips.

"Then smile a little more," Gu fan shook his head, "Even your praise sounds like constipation. If you are having trouble with your stomach, do you want me to get you some pills?"

Several disciples immediately coughed to hide their laughter. Gu Chen still held the reigns in the clan, and they could not even think of making enemies with him.

"You..." Gu Chen’s eyebrow twitched as he pointed his finger at Gu Fan, but stopped himself from saying anything further in front of the other disciples, "I will be more careful next time Brother fan."

"Whatever!" Gu Fan ignored the backhanded compliment, his eyes locked into the direction the Phantom Sirens were rushing towards.

"The day keeps getting better."
