Aksai did not waste the precious window he had created for himself.

The moment he confirmed that Kalina had abandoned the idea of rushing him head-on, he immediately began the next phase of his plan.

There was no hesitation. He knew exactly who his opponent was. A late-stage Lord from the Shinayin Empire.

With a flick of his wrist, a small sealed jade vial appeared in his palm. He removed the sealing talisman without wasting a second.

Three different pills rested inside.

Each one had a different purpose.

Each one had been prepared for tonight.

Aksai swallowed the first pill immediately. It was the Blood Surge Pill.

The medicinal essence spread throughout his body almost instantly. His heartbeat grew stronger. Warmth flowed through every vein. His blood circulation accelerated.

Every muscle became more active. His body’s natural recovery speed increased noticeably.

Aksai quietly felt the changes happening inside him. He nodded to himself.

’Time to be a little masochistic upon myself.’

He did not doubt that he was bound to get injured. This was a willing act he had to indulge in.

No matter how many traps he prepared...

No matter how many tricks he used...

Facing Kalina without suffering injuries was impossible.

She was simply too strong. Therefore, instead of hoping to avoid damage completely, he prepared his body to endure it.

Every second of faster recovery could decide life or death later in the battle.

Although Aksai had druidic blessing named Druid’s Heart that functioned more or less the same way as the pill, he decided not to use them at the moment.

Thus, he decided to not make use of any direct druidic powers against her. If she were to learn about his druidic identity and somehow managed to communicate the same to her allies before she died, it would spell bigger trouble for Aksai.

Aksai didn’t dare to underestimate Kalina and the might of the empire in any way.

Without waiting for the first pill to settle completely, Aksai swallowed the second one.

Venom Absorption Pill.

The pill dissolved almost immediately.

His meridians felt strangely cool. The poison resistance inside his body rose rapidly.

Ordinary poison would now have very little effect on him. As a poison druid, he was immune to most poisons that were below his cultivation base.

The pill allowed poison cultivators to temporarily absorb poison essence directly into their meridians and convert part of it into cultivation energy.

Those bombs contained poison far stronger than Venom Dominion.

Venom Dominion produced poison equivalent to Aksai’s own cultivation.

But the poison inside the Gu Poison Bombs was entirely different.

Controlling swarms of Gu Insects during an intense battle against someone like Kalina was beyond his current abilities. So he chose a much simpler solution.

Before tonight’s battle, he had already coated his entire body with a specially prepared herbal lotion. Its smell was almost impossible to notice.

However, to Gu Insects, it was completely different. The scent naturally repelled them. As long as the lotion remained active, the released Gu Insects would instinctively avoid approaching him. They would instead seek every other living target nearby.

Satisfied with his preparations, Aksai took out the final pill.

Spirit Veil Pill.

A strange disruptive wave spread through his Spirit Essence. The fluctuations leaking from his body gradually weakened. His aura became quieter and less noticeable.

The pill did not make him invisible.

Nor could it completely deceive the powerful Spirit Senses of cultivators stronger than him or already aware of his presence.

He had set up a hunting ground. Not for a powerful lion. But for a patient hunter who knew exactly how to wear down prey much stronger than himself before delivering the final blow.

While Aksai was busy completing his own preparations, Kalina had not remained idle.

She had retreated to the opposite side of the barrier for a reason. The brief distance Aksai had created for himself also gave her enough breathing room.

Spirit Essence gathered around her body. Unlike the fluctuating waves produced by ordinary Innate Spirit Spells, her Spirit Essence remained perfectly stable.

It quietly revolved around her Spirit Essence Core before flowing through her meridians with astonishing precision.

The True Meaning hidden inside her Complete Tantra slowly awakened. An invisible pressure spread through the surrounding space.

As a result, the spell’s power rose far beyond its ordinary level.

She slowly raised one hand. Without any unnecessary movements, she pointed toward the countless vines surrounding her.

The next moment, the entire area exploded into crimson flames.

A sea of fire surged outward.

Every vine within its path instantly caught fire. The thick wooden branches that had previously looked almost indestructible rapidly blackened.

The countless sharp barbs melted away. The vines trying to wrap around Kalina never even reached her. They burned into ash long before touching her clothes.

The flames continued spreading.

Anything made from wood simply could not withstand such terrifying fire.

At the same time, the massive earth pillars surrounding her also began moving.

No... They were not moving on their own.

The vines attached to them pulled them inward from every direction.

The sealing formation attempted to crush her between the pillars while restricting her movement.

Kalina merely snorted. She waved her hand once more. The crimson flames changed direction instantly. They slammed directly into the incoming stone pillars.

Huge fractures spread across their surfaces.

A moment later, the pillars exploded one after another. Broken rocks flew throughout the barrier. The formation nodes collapsed almost instantly.

Without the support of the pillars, large portions of the sealing formation immediately weakened. The vines hanging from the ceiling also attempted to descend upon her.

Thousands of thorn-covered branches rushed downward like giant snakes.

Kalina calmly looked upward. Her expression never changed.

Another burst of flames erupted. The descending vines were instantly swallowed. They burned so completely that even the falling ashes disappeared before reaching the ground.

Within only a few breaths, everything around Kalina had been reduced to scorched earth. The once complicated killing zone became an empty circle centered around her.

No vines remained.

No pillars remained.
