A Farmer's Journey To Immortality

Chapter 914: Obtaining Sword Bone P4

The mirror-like cube wasn’t merely a space-isolation artifact.

It could exert tremendous spatial pressure on everything trapped within it.

The smaller the cube became, the greater the pressure. Even though it only had about three uses left, it was one of Aksai’s most reliable trump cards.

And that was precisely why Aksai had brought it out now.

Boom!

Another enormous shockwave erupted inside the cube.

Aksai’s eyes narrowed.

"Quick. We don’t have much time."

Jina, Naisha, and Loken simultaneously channeled their Spirit Essence into their respective Array Eyes.

The rectangular formation immediately stabilized. Formation patterns intertwined around the cube and as a result, the surrounding space became increasingly rigid.

Varesh’s expression turned colder as he sensed the change.

He had originally intended to destroy the Array Eye and kill Aksai.

Instead, he had been trapped inside another mysterious space-element artifact.

And now the formation master had even deployed additional Array Eyes to reinforce it.

At this point, seeing no way out, Varesh slowly closed his eyes.

After a brief moment, as if finally making up his mind, he opened them again.

A trace of coldness flashed through them.

His Sword Mind moved.

A strange fluctuation spread through his body.

Then—

BOOM!

His blood essence began burning.

A crimson-golden radiance appeared beneath his skin.

His aura suddenly soared.

The Sword Intent surrounding him became several times denser in an instant.

This was a secret sword cultivation technique.

It could temporarily amplify his Sword Essence and Sword Intent by burning his blood essence.

The price was naturally enormous.

Blood essence was the foundation of a cultivator’s vitality. Burning it wasn’t something a Lord-level cultivator would casually do.

But Varesh had already reached the point where he no longer cared. He didn’t dare to hold back anymore. With three more Lords joining Aksai at this point, if he waited for some more time, who knew what troubles would await him?

He also sealed the wound above his heart with his Sword Intent, effortlessly stopping the bleeding.

Most true sword cultivators only had one trick up their sleeves, which was their pure sword cultivation path. As such, they only used sword cultivation moves in different ways to obtain intended results. And the strange thing was, it almost always worked for them. This was because their whole existence was fine-tuned to make those tricks work.

For example, Aksai could not have used Sword Intent as a healing or first-aid ability even if he had cultivated his Sword Intent to the same level as Varesh. This was because Aksai did not have a Sword Body.

This was the main difference between a true sword cultivator and those who had Sword Intent but not steadfast followers of the sword cultivation path. Anyone could have a Weapon Intent. It needed a corresponding legacy to make that Intent work in various ways.

Receiving the Sword Intent as a first-aid, the damaged flesh around the wound was forcibly stabilized. For a brief period, the injury would no longer interfere with his movements.

Varesh could finally fight at almost his full strength. His eyes became sharp as he raised his Natal Sword.

"Break."

SHING—!

The black sword released a terrifying Sword Cry. A massive Sword Light condensed around its blade.

Then Varesh swung.

BOOOOOOM!

The entire cube shook.

A terrifying crack appeared across its mirror-like wall.

Varesh didn’t stop.

Another strike.

SHING!

Another crack.

A third strike.

BOOM!

The cracks spread across the entire spatial artifact. It even affected the very spatial space that the cube commanded. This was the effect of Varesh’s Sword Mind operating on a different level than normal under the effects of the Essence Blood burning.

Aksai’s expression changed slightly. He had already predicted this outcome. Still, seeing one of his reliable trump cards being destroyed with his own eyes caused a slight sting in his heart.

Damn it. That cube still should have about two more uses left. This bastard just ruined my trump card.

The space-element cube was powerful but it wasn’t an absolute prison. Varesh was exactly the kind of opponent who could break through it.

One had to know that even someone like Saarken who was a late-stage Lord with far more experience than Varesh could not do what Varesh had done. Destroying a space-element artifact wasn’t to be taken lightly.

Aksai didn’t hesitate.

"Now!"

The moment the cube reached its limit—

CRACK!

The entire artifact shattered.

Countless spatial fragments scattered through the air before disappearing.

Varesh stepped out.

His black Natal Sword immediately returned to his side.

But before he could take even a single breath—

Hummm!

A strange fluctuation came from the distance.

Varesh’s Sword Sense reacted instantly.

Several Void Arrows appeared from the fog.

SHOOOOOM!

They shot toward him from different directions.

Varesh’s expression didn’t change.

He had already learned his lesson.

This time, he wasn’t going to separate his Natal Sword from himself.

"Hehe. You still want to assassinate me? Haah! The same trick won’t work twice on me. Shield!"

His Sword Mind moved.

The black Natal Sword flashed around his body.

SHING! SHING! SHING!

Sword Light intertwined.

The blade moved so quickly that it created a spherical Sword Shield around Varesh.

The first Void Arrow arrived.

BOOM!

The Sword Shield blocked it.

Another Void Arrow followed.

BOOM!

Then another.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

One after another, the Void Arrows struck the Sword Shield.

The arrows were weaker than the first one but there were far more of them.

Their sheer numbers forced Varesh to remain defensive.

His Natal Sword continuously moved around his body, intercepting every Void Arrow.

For the moment, Varesh couldn’t pursue Aksai.

His eyes became cold as his Sword Sense spread outward.

Only then did he notice the formation surrounding him.

A rectangular battle formation had already been established.

Three figures stood at its corners.

Jina.

Naisha.

Loken.

And outside the formation—

Aksai.

Varesh’s expression became ugly.

When did they establish this?

The rectangular formation wasn’t particularly powerful.

But it possessed a strange restriction.

His speed had been reduced.

The difference was subtle.

His movements were only slightly slower.

His Natal Sword was also slightly less agile.

For an ordinary cultivator, this debuff would barely matter.

For a true sword cultivator—

It was enough.

His entire fighting style relied on precision and speed.

Every tiny reduction mattered.

And then the Demon Vines arrived.

RUMBLE!

Snake-like vines surged from the ground.

They wrapped around the battlefield, forcing Varesh to divide his attention between the Void Arrows and the vines.

Varesh’s eyes became colder as he understood.

Aksai had never expected the cube to hold him forever.

It had merely been another layer.

Another delay.

Another opportunity to weaken him.

And now he was trapped inside another formation while being bombarded by the Woodland Clone.

Varesh laughed coldly.

"Very well."

His blood essence burned again.

BOOM!

His aura surged.

The black Natal Sword released a terrifying Sword Cry.

SHING—!

Sword Intent erupted from the blade.

The Sword Shield around Varesh suddenly disappeared.

The Natal Sword returned to his hand.

Varesh took one step forward.

Then he swung.

BOOOOOOM!

A gigantic black Sword Light swept across the rectangular formation.

The formation trembled violently.

Jina’s expression changed.

Naisha staggered.

Loken’s face paled.

The Sword Light tore through the formation’s interconnected structures.

CRACK!

The rectangular formation shattered.

The three Formation Lords simultaneously suffered backlash.

Aksai’s body shook and blood rushed up his throat. He forcibly swallowed it.

The other three staggered as well, their faces becoming pale.

But Varesh didn’t give them any opportunity to recover.

He knew exactly how much Essence Blood he had burned.

He didn’t have much time.

His current strength was temporary.

Every breath mattered.

"Die."

His Sword Momentum erupted.

VMMMM!

His entire body transformed into a streak of black Sword Light.

The Sword Light pierced through the weakened isolation layer.

SHING—!

The barrier shattered.

Varesh emerged from the isolation layer.

And the first thing he saw was the Woodland Clone.

The miniature woodland existence was still holding the space-element bow.

Its branches trembled.

It was already preparing another Void Arrow.

Varesh’s Sword Light flashed.

SHING!

The Natal Sword pierced through the clone.

The Woodland Clone froze.

Then—

BOOM!

Its body exploded into splinters and fragments.

Aksai’s expression changed. He immediately suffered another backlash as a strange pain erupted in his soul.

The moment his Woodland Clone was destroyed, the connection between them transferred the damage directly to him.

Aksai staggered.

His vision blurred and his soul trembled.

Damn!

Before he could recover—

Varesh had already moved again. His Sword Sense swept across the battlefieldHe quickly identified the weakest link.

Loken.

The Formation Lord was still suffering from the backlash caused by the destruction of the rectangular formation.

He was injured.

His reaction was slower.

And most importantly—

He was isolated. In trapping Varesh, a huge loophole remained in Aksai’s planning. And this very loophole was identified by Varesh.

Varesh’s eyes became cold.

"You’re next."

VMMMM!

Sword Momentum erupted again and Varesh transformed into Sword Light. His entire existence seemed to become one with his Natal Sword.

The distance between him and Loken disappeared.

Loken’s pupils contracted as he instinctively tried to activate his Array Eye.

But Varesh was already there.

SHING—!

The black Natal Sword pierced directly through the Array Eye protecting Loken.

The accumulated Sword Intent within the blade erupted and as a result, the Array Eye shattered instantly.

Loken’s defensive measures collapsed.

Varesh didn’t give him even a fraction of a second as his sword passed through Loken’s body.

PFFT!

Blood splashed through the air.

Loken’s eyes widened.

Then his body went limp.

His Spirit Essence dissipated and his life aura vanished.

A Lord had fallen.
