A Farmer's Journey To Immortality
Chapter 924: Compiled Inventory Check P4Normally, an Array Eye was one of the safest places to stay within a formation.
But that safety usually existed only as long as the formation remained stable.
Once an enemy forcibly destroyed the formation, the cultivators controlling its Array Eyes became the first to suffer the backlash.
Jina and Naisha were no exceptions to this rule. Their faces were pale, their auras unstable, and their Spirit Essence had become chaotic.
Naisha’s condition was serious. Her Spirit Core was nearly dry and had developed several faint cracks.
Jina’s condition was even worse. Apart from suffering the backlash caused by the destruction of the formation, she had also lost her left arm to Varesh.
She sat on the ground with tears streaming down her face. Her expression was filled with despair. She had cultivated for so many years, yet a single battle had nearly destroyed everything she had worked for.
She was afraid that even if she survived, she would never be able to cultivate normally again. After all, a lost limb meant a damaged Spirit Vein circuit.
Even though she could recover her limb using some special alchemical methods, the damaged Spirit Vein circuit might not completely recover. Even if it did, it would take a long time. Her cultivation efficiency would remain reduced for an even longer period, if not permanently.
Aksai didn’t say much. He simply walked over and placed his hand on Jina’s shoulder. At the same time, he used one of the Demon Vines to recover her lost limb and positioned it near her amputated injury.
His druidic powers surged.
Dense life essence entered her body.
The chaotic energy within her meridians gradually stabilized, while the injuries caused by the formation’s destruction began to heal.
At the same time, countless Demon Vines emerged from the ground.
They wrapped around Jina’s severed arm.
Green light flashed.
The vines connected the severed arm to her shoulder, while Aksai’s druidic powers repaired the damaged muscles, blood vessels, bones, and meridians.
Slowly, the arm reconnected.
What was even more surprising was that the Spirit Vein circuit was completely restored and had recovered to its fullest potential.
Jina stared at her restored limb in disbelief.
She moved her fingers, and they responded. She channeled her Spirit Essence through her recovered arm, and it flowed seamlessly as well.
Tears welled up in her eyes again, this time from relief.
"My Lord, I—"
Aksai raised a hand.
"It’s good that we managed to recover your arm in time. No need to thank me. At least not now. I... I also need to have a few words with all of you but... all of this can wait. I’m a little busy right now. We’ll talk in detail later."
He didn’t give her an opportunity to say anything else.
His attention had already shifted toward Naisha.
Aksai approached her and began treating her injuries. Because Naisha herself was not a druid and couldn’t accommodate his druidic powers to their fullest potential, his healing wasn’t enough to restore her completely. But this brief healing session stabilized her condition and repaired the worst of her internal injuries.
Naisha’s Spirit Core stopped deteriorating. She finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Once he was certain that neither of them was in immediate danger, Aksai stood up.
"Alright. We are done with the immediate threats for now. There shouldn’t be any immediate danger for a few days. So, for now, you two coordinate with the others on the island."
Jina and Naisha nodded.
Aksai paused and thought for a while before speaking again.
"During this time, reactivate the Devil’s Den formation as soon as possible. Use whatever precious resources are available in the island’s treasury. Don’t hesitate to spend them.
"I’ll be honest with you. We might need to leave this island in the coming days. But we can’t leave right away. We need this formation to buy us some time.
"As such, while recovering the formation, I want you two to pass this message to my other direct subordinates and have them prepare for the worst in advance as well.
"Of course, make sure not to leak this information outside our close circle to avoid mass panic on the island among the mortals and lower-level cultivators. As long as they stay put, nothing should happen to them anyway."
Aksai then took out a bunch of wooden tokens.
He tossed them toward the two women.
"These will give you greater authority over the formation. Use them to handle the administrative matters while I’m gone."
Jina caught the tokens with both hands.
She looked at them for a moment before glancing back at Aksai.
"Where are you going, My Lord?"
Aksai’s eyes lit up slightly but his voice was as neutral as his face.
"To my dwelling. I have some urgent matters to attend to. Make sure none of you disturb me unless absolutely necessary."
Saying this, he turned around and began walking toward his palace.
More precisely, toward the underground passage beneath it.
After taking a few steps, the gray fog surged around him, and he disappeared.
There was something Aksai needed to do before anything else. Something that he had kept on hold for a long time.
And after the killing of the four imperial cultivators, that task had only increased in magnitude.
Naturally, it was the inventory check of the fallen cultivators.
Including Kalina, her army, and the recently fallen, he had killed several imperial cultivators.
And most of those people had carried a significant portion of their wealth with them.
Storage rings.
Artifacts.
Talismans.
Spirit resources.
Cultivation techniques.
Secret techniques.
And countless other treasures accumulated over their long lives.
Aksai had barely had the time to glance through any of them during the battle.
In fact, he hadn’t even delved deeply into the items he had obtained from Kalina and her team, which was already almost a week ago at this point.
Since Aksai had prioritized traveling from the mainland to his island, he barely had time to do that.
