A Farmer's Journey To Immortality

Chapter 925: Compiled Inventory Check P5

Now that Varesh was dead and the immediate danger had passed, it was finally time to inspect his spoils.

He descended into the underground passage beneath his palace. The deeper he went, the more storage rings appeared within his consciousness.

The poison druid’s eyes began to shine as he felt a sense of excitement.

After all, this was probably going to be the biggest collective loot acquired from his enemies so far.

As soon as Aksai stepped inside the underground cave, he turned around and sealed the entrance.

With a thought, several talismans appeared between his fingers.

He flicked them one after another.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

The talismans flew toward the cave entrance and stuck to the surrounding walls. Their runes immediately lit up, spreading faint ripples of spiritual power through the stone.

Aksai did not stop there.

He took out several formation restriction plates and embedded them into the ground around the entrance. He then used his Spirit Essence to connect them, creating layers of restrictions that overlapped with one another.

One layer concealed the entrance.

Another blocked Spirit Sense.

A third prevented Spirit fluctuations from leaking out.

The final layer was a simple defensive restriction designed to alert him if anyone attempted to force their way inside.

Only after checking the restrictions several times did Aksai finally relax.

The Devil’s Den formation had been severely damaged during his battle with Varesh.

Although the formation could eventually be repaired and could still somewhat function at a bare minimum if he controlled it using the injured Demon Tree, Aksai had no intention of relying on it for the time being.

It was better to use the personal means available to him.

After all, this underground cave dwelling was one of the safest places on Emerald Cove Island. Apart from the formation, there were other means that ensured his safety here as well.

Aksai turned around and walked deeper inside. His footsteps echoed softly through the passage.

Soon, the narrow underground tunnel opened up.

A spacious underground hall appeared before him.

Aksai stopped for a moment.

Even though he had seen this place many times before, he still felt a faint sense of satisfaction whenever he entered it.

After that feeling of satisfaction came sadness, helplessness, and irritation at the thought of having to give up this safe abode that he had created after overcoming many hurdles.

However, Aksai did not let those negative feelings get to him and continued walking.

The entire hall was illuminated.

Illuminated vines climbed along the walls and ceiling, their leaves releasing a gentle radiance.

Strange illuminating flowers bloomed between the vines, their petals glowing softly. Some Spirit fruits hanging from branches also emitted faint light, adding to the illumination.

These were not the original Golden Rebirth Fruits but something Aksai had obtained by experimenting on plant bloodlines using the Golden Rebirth Tree as the genetic foundation.

There were no lamps or illuminating crystals in this underground cave dwelling.

No artificial lighting formations.

Everything came from nature.

The air was filled with an extremely rich nature essence.

Life essence flowed quietly through every corner of the underground hall.

After completing the recent refinement of his druidic bloodline, Aksai had further developed this underground cave dwelling.

At this point, it could hardly be called a simple cave dwelling anymore.

It looked more like a miniature world hidden beneath Emerald Cove Island.

Everywhere Aksai looked, there were traces of vibrant life.

Spirit plants grew naturally along the walls.

Thin roots crawled through the stone like veins.

Vines hung from the ceiling, occasionally swaying despite the absence of wind.

Somewhere in the distance, water trickled through a small underground stream.

The entire place was peaceful.

It felt as if this underground world was forever bathed in the soft yet bright light of morning.

There was no harsh sunlight.

No scorching heat.

Just a warm and gentle radiance that made the entire place feel alive.

Aksai took a deep breath, and the rich nature essence immediately entered his body.

"No matter the degree of chaos outside, I will strive to cultivate an unshakable calmness within."

A faint smile appeared on his face. He reckoned that as long as he survived, he could create a similar cultivation environment anywhere in the world.

With his druidic powers, his future cultivation dwellings were bound to make him feel at home, no matter where they were located.

Eventually, he reached the deepest section of the underground hall.

A massive tree trunk emerged from the ground ahead of him.

It was the underground section of the Demon Tree.

The Demon Tree served as the Array Core of the Devil’s Den formation covering Emerald Cove Island. Its roots extended throughout the underground world, connecting countless parts of the formation.

However, unlike the damaged portions of the Devil’s Den aboveground, this underground section remained relatively stable.

Aksai looked at it for a moment before moving toward a platform located beside its massive trunk.

The platform had been constructed from intertwined wood and vines.

The vines had grown together naturally, forming a smooth and sturdy surface. A formation made of roots, vines, and other materials was etched onto the platform—the Yantra part of the Sun Moon Stars Trifecta Tantra.

Aksai stepped onto the platform.

Then, he sat down cross-legged.

His expression gradually became calm.

The excitement he had felt regarding the loot in his storage rings disappeared from his mind.

The mainland was at a considerable distance from Emerald Cove Island. Furthermore, Aksai had killed all the imperial cultivators inside the Devil’s Den formation, taking all the necessary measures to prevent his targets from altering their respective factions.

The third party involved in this conflict, because of whom the imperial cultivators had attacked the Emerald Cove Island formation—the Sun Ocean Lord—had also died within the formation.

Because of the various obstructing effects of Devil’s Den formation, not to mention the islanders consisting of mortals and low level cultivators, even Aksai’s core subordinates did not know what had happened when Aksai fought against four imperial cultivators.

Thus, there were basically no witnesses.
