Chapter 621: Chapter 618: I Will Stand Before Them, Happy

Sarah Shelby smiled too. "Okay, okay, I’ll stop teasing you. All I’m saying is, since I’m already married to him, I’m going to make sure I live a good life."

As she spoke, the smile on her face turned a little cold. "Evan Shelby didn’t care about my happiness, did he? Yvette Zimmerman and Autumn Shelby didn’t want me to have a good life, right? Well, I’m going to make a point of flaunting my happiness right in front of them. I’ll make them green with envy. I’ll make them regret their decision!"

"So, Clara, you don’t have to worry about me anymore. Happiness is something you make for yourself. I believe that as long as I’m willing to work for it, I’ll be truly happy one day."

"Sarah, do you really mean that? You really want to try and make it work with Ewan Stratton?" Clara Grant asked.

"Of course, it’s true. It’s not like I can escape this marriage anyway. If I just repress my feelings, I’ll be miserable for the rest of my life. But if I try to find happiness, and I succeed, then I can be happy for the rest of my life.

Clara, you know me. I’ve always been an optimist. I won’t let my life be ruined by a marriage someone else orchestrated."

Sarah Shelby’s voice was firm. At that moment, she believed that as long as she wanted to be happy, wanted to build a good life with Ewan Stratton, all she had to do was take good care of her husband. She thought that if she gave him her heart, Ewan Stratton’s heart would naturally be won over in time.

But she didn’t know that sincerity isn’t always returned in kind. Winning the heart of a heartless man would be a long and arduous journey.

Clara Grant was silent for a long moment before finally looking at her and saying, "Sarah, if that’s really what you want, then you have my blessing."

Sarah Shelby smiled. "I’m so happy to have your blessing. I feel like I’m already one step closer to finding my happiness."

Clara Grant smiled too. She knew Sarah, and she could see that she was genuinely determined to find happiness in her marriage to Ewan Stratton.

Since this was her friend’s decision, the best thing she could do was offer her support and her blessing.

After they shared a laugh, Clara Grant suddenly remembered what the bartender had said the day before. She asked casually, "The bartender yesterday said there was a woman with you at first, but she left later. Who was it? If it was someone you knew, how could they just abandon you there by yourself? The nerve!"

"A woman with me? What are you talking about? I was drinking there all by myself. No one was with me." Sarah Shelby had forgotten everything about the previous night.

"The bartender told me himself, so how could he be mistaken? Don’t tell me he saw a ghost?"

"Really?" Sarah Shelby thought hard for a moment, but still couldn’t recall a thing. Her expression was one of complete confusion. "Who could that have been? I have no memory of it at all. Maybe he really did see a ghost."

"Probably," Clara Grant joked, playing along.

She glanced at the time and added, "It’s about time for us to get to campus. How bad is your headache? Do you think you can make it to class?"

"Oh, I’m fine. I still have to go to class. Otherwise, I’ll really become a useless layabout, won’t I?" Sarah Shelby said, getting to her feet. "Let’s go."

The two of them walked to the entrance, and the moment they opened the door, they saw four burly men standing outside.

Clara Grant froze for a second, but Sarah Shelby recovered quickly. "Heh, I was just saying my headache was too bad to drive, and a chauffeur materializes on my doorstep. Sigh. I guess my free time is over."

Clara Grant quickly caught on as well. These were the men Ewan Stratton had sent.
