Chapter 635: Chapter 632: She Is a Bit Suspicious

Clara recounted what Sandra had said to him, and then voiced the doubts on her mind.

"You suspect that incident is related to Faye Jennings?" Seth Quinn asked after a moment of thought.

"I can’t say for sure if she was involved, but her actions are definitely suspicious.

"She reported Sandra to us, and both we and the police guaranteed we would never reveal that she was the one who betrayed Sandra. So why would she secretly give Sandra that advice?

"If she were afraid that Sandra might find out one day and hold a grudge, then it would make even less sense for her to do this. She should have persuaded Sandra to confess quickly and get sentenced. The heavier the sentence, the better—ideally, life in prison so she could never get out.

"That way, even if Sandra resented her, she wouldn’t be able to do anything about it if she couldn’t get out of prison.

"Or perhaps it’s really as Faye Jennings said—she felt guilty for betraying Sandra, so she came up with a way to help her escape the law... But Faye Jennings doesn’t seem like that soft-hearted of a person.

"So, I think there has to be more to the story. But as for what that is, I have no idea. That’s something you’ll have to investigate."

As she spoke, Clara took a piece of paper from her bag and handed it to Seth Quinn. "This has some information and phone numbers for the seller that Sandra provided."

Seth Quinn took the paper, glanced at it, and immediately made a call on his phone. He gave his instructions, then hung up.

He looked at Clara and said, "Don’t worry. I’m sure we’ll have the results soon."

"If we find out this is really connected to Faye Jennings, what will you do to her?" Clara asked after a moment’s thought.

"If that’s really the case, I’ll make her regret ever doing it." Seth Quinn’s expression turned cold and hard.

Clara had told him about her suspicions of Faye Jennings before, but he had felt that someone with Faye’s intelligence and emotional maturity wouldn’t do something like that.

But now, especially after hearing what Faye Jennings said this morning, he thought that the person she used to be might not have done it, but the person she was now was more than capable.

The Faye Jennings he once knew was gentle, humble, smart, and driven. She understood her place and acted with a measured sense of propriety. But the woman she was now... she was likely too greedy, too desperate to obtain things that were never meant for her, and had become a completely different person.

Once a person is consumed by greed, there’s nothing they aren’t capable of.

’If she really did use Sandra to try and take Clara’s life, then I will absolutely not spare her!’

"Honestly, I’d rather believe that Sandra was just deceived by those people than believe that Faye Jennings really used her to try and kill me."

Clara said with a sigh. It wasn’t that she pitied Faye Jennings; she just found it all rather tragic—tragic for Faye.

She was an actress with a great career and bright prospects, a woman with a beautiful face and a stunning figure. If she had just been willing, her career could have been boundless, and she easily could have found a good man to love her.

But sometimes, people are just like that. They let their so-called obsessions blind them.

...

For two or three days straight, Clara didn’t see Sarah Shelby at school.

She was starting to worry. By all rights, even though Sarah was married, Ewan Stratton wouldn’t stop her from continuing her studies.

Besides, even though Ewan had people following Sarah all day, it didn’t seem like he intended to stop her from going to school.

Clara was just thinking about giving her a call when she ran into her at the foot of the academic building.
