Chapter 671: Chapter 668: She Hesitated

"For real? If that’s true, we’re totally getting the VIP treatment." A few of them said with a laugh, playing along with her.

"Of course, it’s true. Come on, something came up yesterday and cut our fun short, so I’ll make it up to you all today. Just pick out whatever you want—if you like it, I’ll pay for it."

As Chloe Grant spoke, she glanced in the direction the man had disappeared, her heart still pounding with fear.

"Long live Chloe! Our Chloe is the best and most generous, right?"

"Of course! I mean, just think about who our Chloe is. She’s the great Miss of the Grant family. How could ordinary people even compare?"

"Totally! Quick, let’s go, let’s go! Time to go shopping!"

The group of girls huddled around Chloe Grant as they walked into the mall. A wave of smug satisfaction washed over Chloe, and the terror that had gripped her moments ago mostly faded away.

She loved this feeling of being the center of attention, of being put on a pedestal. She wanted to be the most dazzling person in any crowd, always.

Even though she knew these so-called friends only stuck around for her money, she didn’t care. As long as someone was there to prop her up and fawn all over her, that was all that mattered.

As the girls chattered and laughed their way into the distance, a man stepped out from behind a pillar. He reached up and slightly tipped his baseball cap, revealing a rather sleazy face. It was Adam Warren.

He narrowed his eyes, staring intently at Chloe Grant’s retreating figure, his gaze thick with lust and disappointment.

’So close. He could have enjoyed a taste of that delicious little beauty, but who would have thought a group of people would suddenly appear!’

Not until the group’s figures vanished around a corner did Adam Warren pull his baseball cap low again. He glanced around warily before quickly heading for the mall entrance.

After class that afternoon, Seth Quinn picked up Clara Grant from school. The two of them then headed to Stellan Bay to have dinner with Skylar Hayes.

In the car, they made small talk.

"By the way, have they confirmed a filming start date for *You Are My Eternal Love*?" Clara Grant asked. Her professor had just announced their graduation play in class today, and she knew preparing for it would take up nearly all of her time next semester. She was worried about a scheduling conflict.

"What’s wrong? Worried it’ll conflict with your graduation play?" Seth Quinn asked, glancing at her.

All acting students had to prepare a graduation play, a fact Seth Quinn was well aware of.

"Yeah. My professor announced it today."

"In that case, I’ll just have them speed things up and start shooting earlier. Or we can push it back until after you graduate," Seth Quinn said casually. It was his call to make, after all.

Clara Grant thought for a moment. "Moving it up would be best, if possible," she said. "If we wait a whole year to start filming, Brother Sterling would never agree."

’He went to so much trouble to get this project signed; there’s no way he’d be willing to wait a year.’

"That works, too. We can take advantage of the fact that you’re still relatively free this semester." Seth Quinn looked at her and agreed with a smile.

After a moment, he remembered that she seemed to have something she wanted to say the previous night, right before bed. "What was it you wanted to say last night?" he asked.

"Hm?" His question came out of the blue, and it took Clara Grant a moment to process. She just looked at him and hummed in confusion.

"Right before I went to take a shower. You seemed like you had something to say."

"Oh," Clara Grant said as it clicked. "I just wanted to tell you that yesterday I..."

But as she spoke, she suddenly remembered what Sarah had said to her at lunch, and she hesitated.
