Before the day’s events concluded, Director Lowell announced the location for the next day’s activity: Apex Collections!

Director Lowell actually knew nothing about antique collecting. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have entrusted the matter to Quentin Marshall. Who could have imagined that Quentin Marshall, just to defend Miles Galloway, would disregard the exchange program and Apex’s honor by siding with him! If it hadn’t been for Seraphina Sterling, there’s no telling how badly things would have spiraled!

So, when he overheard the interview between the reporter and Seraphina Sterling, he decided on the spot to set the next activity’s location at Apex Collections! Any antique shop would do, anyway. Besides, the antique theme was only for tomorrow, the last time. The rest of the activities were in fields he was familiar with! As long as Simon didn’t suddenly spring another request to learn about Apex’s traditional crafts like he did this time, the rest of the program would go off without a hitch!

Before leaving Serenity Antiques, Simon stopped as he passed by Seraphina Sterling. With a slight raise of his brow, he remarked, "I can’t shake the feeling that I’m being used as a pawn."

"A pawn? I wonder, are you referring to a pawn in chess or a stone in Go?" Seraphina Sterling maintained her serene expression, her composure flawless in the face of Simon’s probing.

’Simon would never know that Seraphina had recognized him from the very beginning! She knew his status among the group of foreign students, which was why she had been deliberately trying to attract his attention. She had been wracking her brain for a way to get close to him, and then, unexpectedly, he’d decided to pick a fight with her himself! That was why she had intentionally overwhelmed him by speaking in five different languages.’

’As for the mountain climbing, if Simon hadn’t been holding so tightly to first place, she wouldn’t have bothered competing for it. Everything she had done was to create an opportunity to speak with him alone. That way, she would have a chance to bring up antiques, curios, and Apex Collections, giving Apex Collections a chance to participate in the event.’

’Everything had been going perfectly smoothly. But then, a wrench was thrown into the works, snatching the opportunity right from under Apex Collections! If it hadn’t been for that, Seraphina wouldn’t have repeatedly put herself in the spotlight today. Her goal was to knock Serenity Antiques out of the running so that Apex Collections would get its turn.’

’Of course, her plan also included making Director Lowell grow to loathe the businessman, Miles Galloway, and admire her, a mere student. Although there were some unexpected twists, like getting Quentin Marshall, the principal of Sanford First High School, involved, the outcome was good. Apex Collections could finally be introduced to these students from all over the world.’

Miles Galloway never imagined that after all his meticulous planning, this would be the outcome! ’Will the reporters broadcast the story about Serenity Antiques making a misidentification and selling a fake? Will the auction house’s business be affected by this?!’

What angered him most was that such a fantastic publicity opportunity had slipped right through his fingers! And to top it off, that damned Apex Collections had swooped in and picked it up for free!

"Who the hell is this Seraphina Sterling? How dare she oppose our Galloway Family here in Sanford! Does she not want to live or work in this city anymore?!" Miles Galloway’s rage, which had been building all day, finally erupted.

"She’s just a student from Tollan High. No special background to speak of. We haven’t seen her having close ties with any particular family. This Seraphina Sterling does have astonishingly sharp eyes, though. At the stone-cutting convention that just ended, she was the one who cut an Emperor Green. We can confirm that she doesn’t have any impressive status or powerful backing. She’s just a second-year high school student with an exceptionally good eye," the secretary reported dutifully.

"If that’s the case, then let her have a taste of the consequences for offending me, Miles Galloway!"
