At least I’m open about my feelings! Are you the only one who’s allowed to like him? We grew up together, but it’s only today that I’m realizing what an utterly unreasonable person you are!"

One moment they were best friends, sisters, inseparable. The next, they were mortal enemies. Neither of them gave an inch, and the fight was a brutal affair.

"Enjoying the show? Aren’t you going to step in and sort this out?" Seraphina Sterling suddenly asked.

The Marshal walked out from behind her. Seeing the two women tangled in a brawl, a flicker of disgust appeared in his eyes. "This is a private matter between them. It has nothing to do with me."

His voice was gentle, but his words were utterly heartless. Seraphina Sterling said nothing, simply turning to leave. This affair had nothing to do with her, either.

The Marshal hurried after her. "Is the Galloway Family’s situation your doing?"

"Is Michelle Galloway an idiot, or are you one too?" Seraphina Sterling couldn’t even be bothered to look at him.

’Am I being looked down on?’ The Marshal’s expression froze. He had been praised his entire life; being treated with such contempt was a first. He cleared his throat with a few soft coughs.

"I just wanted to warn you not to provoke Miles Galloway. The Galloway Family’s auction house made a name for itself across the country so quickly because he used some ruthless tactics. No matter how talented or capable you are, as you are now, you have no way to contend with the Galloway Family! If they decide to play dirty, you won’t have a chance to escape!"

"He’s already started playing dirty. Besides, I still have you, don’t I?" Seraphina Sterling replied matter-of-factly, her chin tilted up. Her soft voice created the illusion that she was flirting with a boyfriend, though Seraphina herself was completely unaware. "Don’t forget, you still owe me a favor!"

The Marshal was momentarily dazed, then his expression turned serious. "Of course I’ll be on your side. I wouldn’t have come all this way to warn you otherwise. I’m not joking. Don’t provoke Miles Galloway. You don’t have the strength to oppose him yet. If you anger him, you won’t be able to handle the consequences! If you’re up to something, you’d better stop right now! You’ve already caused enough trouble for Serenity. If you’re not careful, you might run them out of business!"

"Looks like I really overestimated your intelligence." Seraphina Sterling shook her head, a look of pity on her face. "It was only a matter of time before Serenity Antiques ran into trouble. Miles Galloway has always been vicious and merciless in business; he’s made plenty of enemies. It’s obvious someone is plotting against him. They just seized the perfect opportunity to make their move. It has nothing to do with me!"
