With the common sense that he had, Li Jiwen understood that if he fought the City Lord at the moment, he would not amount to anything and would probably get killed or worse.

He looked at the City Lord with eyes as fierce and serious as they could be.

He said, "So you are the City Lord, huh?"

The City Lord asked him, "Who are you? And what are your reasons for attacking my city? You’re not him, you’re not Li Jiwen..."

Li Jiwen answered, "Nothing. You were the ones who attacked me."

As Li Jiwen was doing so, a map appeared in front of him.

He finally chose the second thing that he could choose in this life.

It was a minor technique that he made in one of his worlds.

It was named The Void Step, and it was made for people in the Golden Core realm, created by a genius in his own novels.

He thought that this would help him but not be a breaking of the bank if he chose other things on other tries.

Finally he chose it, and the entire memories and mastery over the technique came to his mind.

He could use it now like the back of his hand.

He said to the City Lord with a smile, "So long."

As he did so, he moved a step forward and broke the space time continuum.

He escaped far, far away.

The City Lord was stunned.

He didn’t know what exactly to say.

He had never experienced spatial rifts before, and he had never actually thought that a person of the Nascent Soul realm could do so.

His voice escaped him.

"What is happening? How can this be? I can feel his powers are greater than mine in terms of cultivation. Why does he escape?"

The City Lord did not know what to say, but he knew it was his good luck that he survived this and did not get even slightly hurt.

He said, "Well, the only thing I lost is a couple of subordinates. Not totally devastating."

In the meantime, Li Jiwen was in a completely different place.

Passing the rift in a split second, feeling his guts wrenching.

He appeared in the wilderness between cities.

He had never experienced this before.

But indeed it was a thrill.

"I now understand why Main Characters teleport too much."

It was better than he expected of this and it was a good surprise to him indeed.

He looked around.

"This is interesting," he said.

The entirety of the place around him was filled with Qi.

It looked like someone had experienced some kind of battle a couple of minutes before.

He focused more and saw footsteps all around.

Finally, they all came into one place.

He began to move toward that place with blood dripplings in the very same spot.

He smiled wide and said, "Ah, so this is a chance."

Finally, he began to follow those footsteps as he remembered how to use his own Qi in this life.

A sword of pure Qi appeared in his hand.

He advanced forward quickly with the speed of a Nascent Soul cultivator.

In a couple of seconds, he caught up to the person who was escaping from something.

He stopped as he looked at them.

It was a woman of great beauty with cultivation at the Golden Core realm.

She looked to be of some kind of power, and he didn’t know exactly who she was or who her master or disciples were.

He came close and said, "Hello there, fair beauty. Are you experiencing some problems?"

The woman looked back at him, a sword in her hand gripped tight.

"Who are you? Explain yourself. Why are you following me?"

Li Jiwen said, "Well, I’m just a lone cultivator. I’ve never seen you before. I found some blood dripping and footsteps moving slowly, and I wanted to see what was happening."

The woman was still skeptical and didn’t know how to react.

But suddenly her face changed as she looked into the distance.

She said, "Other hounds are coming. Escape. Leave this place at once. I don’t want to die with any other person anymore. Let me die alone."

Li Jiwen’s face changed slowly.

He thought to himself, ’Well, that’s interesting. She looks like she wants to die alone and doesn’t want help, or she’s skeptical that I want something from her. I was just interested in finding some other people in this place. Well, I guess I’ll leave her be.’

He shrugged and said, "Well, see you again, fair beauty, if you live."

Then he began to move in another direction.

But before he did so, five cultivators at the Great Perfection stage of the Golden Core Realm appeared.

They surrounded him and the woman.

The leader said loudly with a gruff voice, "We finally caught you! Yu Ching! This is your last chance. Surrender the blood blade and you’ll be freed. Your soul will be spared to go back into the samsara."

The woman said, "Over my dead body. You will not get that thing. This is the last remnant of my sect."

Li Jiwen was watching from the side.

One of the men looked at him and said, "Why? I’ve never seen you before. Are you with this woman?"

Li Jiwen said, "No, I’m not with her."

Then he stepped back and said, "Do your thing."

The leader smiled at him and said, "What a weak cultivator and weak man. Seeing such a beauty and not trying to save her? Ha! You are disgusting. You will be killed as well. Weak men do not survive this world of cultivation."

Finally, Li Jiwen smiled and let his own aura as a Nascent Soul cultivator appear.

He crushed the man to the ground.

"Well, you brought it on yourself. Now think about it in hell..."
