Li Jiwen smirked as he looked at the man in front of him who was on the ground.
All the people around looked at him with disbelief in their eyes.
One of the elders said, "Impossible! A Nascent Soul cultivator this young. It is almost impossible, and he is not known by any one of us. Who are you? What brought you here? You should know that our sect master is also a Nascent Soul cultivator, so you should give him some face."
Li Jiwen said, "Sect this, sect that. Instead of wanting to save your life and actually get out of the situation, you bring up your master’s cultivation. Good dog."
Then he moved his hand, thumb up, then slowly turned it into a thumbs down.
The Nascent Soul pressure forced all the elders to the ground, then turned them into meat paste in a couple of milliseconds.
The girl was scared and at the same time surprised out of her wits.
She looked at him and said, "Benefactor, please. Why didn’t you help me from start?"
Li Jiwen looked at her and said, "Why should I help you? You are not a part of my family or a part of my sect or anything like that. You are just a nobody that I found on the way as I was venturing. So why should I help you and put myself into danger?"
A stupid look appeared on the woman’s face.
She stuttered, "You... you... what do you mean? Aren’t you one of the righteous path cultivators? You should help us. We should help each other."
Li Jiwen laughed loudly, continuing his words.
"Well, as far as my knowledge, the righteous path and the demonic path are just two sides of the same coin. Why should I help one and have animosity with the other at my own expense? That is just stupid. I don’t wish for the pleasures of the flesh, whether with you or anyone. So why should I put myself at risk for someone I do not know or have any connection to? That is just stupid."
The woman did not have a counter argument, but she said, "But you saved me in the very end. Why?"
Li Jiwen looked at her and said almost in a childish way, "Well, I just wanted so."
The woman’s face went almost blank as she talked with someone that deemed probably mentally unstable.
She muttered slowly, "Well, senior, I thank you greatly for saving me. Now I will go my way before anyone else comes and tries to hunt me down."
Li Jiwen said, "Oh, you are not going anywhere. I want something from you, young lady."
The woman pulled her sword upward and said, "What do you want now? I will not let you hurt me or do anything to me."
Then she moved the sword to her neck.
But before she could do anything, Li Jiwen appeared in front of her.
He took the sword in his hand between two fingers and looked closely at her face from close up.
He said, smirking, "I don’t wish for you, for that matter. I just want something in exchange for me helping you and saving you. Do you have any spiritual weapon by any chance? Probably earth grade or something?"
She looked at him and said, "I have one."
Li Jiwen’s eyes lit up.
His face had a wild smile that made his eyes look smaller.
He said, "Well, give it to me instead, and I will let you go free."
The woman looked blankly at him.
This was probably the first man that did not look at her with some kind of lust within her generation, and that was a new thing.
But the most interesting thing was that such a powerful entity and such a powerful cultivator did not even have a weapon. That was strange, nor did he have a spatial pouch.
She was smart, and she knew that now that her sect was destroyed and completely out of the way, she did not have any backing.
So she tried something.
"I have many other things as well that would probably pique your interest, senior."
He said, "Oh, what other than that do you have?"
She said, "I have a spatial pouch and a couple hundred low grade spiritual stones."
He said, "Oh, that’s interesting. Give it to me, and I will let you go."
Her eyes widened.
She thought, how the hell did he just accept that like that? She felt like he was not mentally there.
If Li Jiwen could actually read her mind...
He had never thought that a person such as her would think such a thing toward him.
But that was the funny part. He did not read her mind, and he didn’t care too much about what another person thought at all.
Then he laughed, "Fine. Give them to me, and you will get out of this place as fast as possible before they come after you."
She said bowing, "Yes, yes, yes, senior."
She produced a spatial pouch with a couple hundred low grade spiritual stones, and in her hand appeared a long sword with a red blood blade.
She reminisced, "This is the sword of the Blood Asura. It feeds on blood and has some kind of sword intent that no one could actually discover. Even my master who was at the very peak of the Nascent Soul realm. Even though we are a small sect that has already been destroyed, this was one of the most important things in our grasp."
He said, "Ooh, that’s interesting."
Then he took it in his hand.
As he felt something weird from the blade, he said, "Ah, it’s a sentient blade."
He tried to instinctively move his will into the blade, but it was rejected. The blade did not answer him.
He smiled mysteriously, "Well, you will answer."
Then he looked at the woman and said with a smile, "You can go now."
She nodded to him, then disappeared from the place as fast as possible, knowing that other people would probably follow her as well.
Li Jiwen just looked into the distance and said, "Well, that’s a good start. I don’t like killing too much, but it’s necessary."
He smiled and hummed a song slowly, then ascended into the air and began to fly.
After Li Jiwen disappeared, five hooded figures appeared and looked around.
One of them, who looked like the leader, said, "Looks like there is an anomaly happening. Investigate as fast as possible."
Then all of them disappeared, nodding.
