The power to survive now was not up to Li Jiwen.
And the pain of understanding such a thing was something that would stick with him for years to come.
But who knows, may the strongest win.
Li Jiwen’s powers now were already at the Dao Seeking realm, great perfection stage. Although they were not truly permanent, they could still do things and not be killed right away.
Surviving this actual calamity was not possible. Now this was only to go out with a fight.
Even if he died this time, he would die on his own terms.
He moved closer.
A sword appeared in his hand.
He looked at the Eye of Judgment and looked at the thousands, the actually increasing number, of the agents of fate.
But he was not afraid.
So greatly that if he survived this, he would still be dead at the hands of the heavenly Dao.
If he was already dead, with the agents of fate themselves against him, then that would be a good fight.
That was something to his own right and to his own path.
That was all that was of meaning to him and anyone who thought like him.
Whether to survive or to die his way, that was already known, and it would never be changed even if he wanted to.
That was the truth about the world of cultivation and that of the fated end of all life.
He charged, sword flying through the air, breaking through the void, and using all his abilities in a blaze to stop them.
He did not stop.
He did not hesitate.
Most importantly, he was not afraid.
Whether it was death or death that was coming, he would die his own way and on his own terms.
He could hear a drum in his mind, a drum through his own ears.
This was death, and the fear that was going to engulf him did not come.
He thought, ’So this is a way to go out, huh?’
A smile crossed his face.
His perfectly long face, masculine and handsome in its own way, his red eyes blood and crimson like, his white hair fluttering long and sharp through the air.
He did not stop.
He advanced, sword at hand.
He had many techniques that he had mastered over the years.
He used some of them.
A slash of space time, slashes of different paths and ways flew through the air.
This was not a fight on equal grounds.
This was going to be a massacre until the most powerful of them came, and he knew that.
Whether death or death, this was a star to shine.
Li Jiwen’s spells as suns began to fly and destroy his enemies.
Blood splattered through the earth.
Mountains cut in half.
The sea split and the sea range absolutely emptied and destroyed into nothing.
Hundreds, then thousands, then tens of thousands of enemies fell to his sword.
His own body was shattered.
His clothes almost cut into nothing as his own body turned from pale, white, deathly ridden into a body that was almost destroyed and shining with blood, his own and the enemy’s.
He laughed like a maniac.
He loved this. He liked this way of life. He liked this way of fighting.
He would go out on his own terms.
Not any others, not any other person would dare to do this.
He was going to do it. He was going to fight and die fighting.
The thrill of fight engulfed him.
He was thinking, ’So this is truly a death or life situation. Quite refreshing.’
His eyes shone with red light, his own mouth filled with blood, and his own teeth almost destroyed completely.
He was still fighting. He would not stop.
Spells flew from every place.
Thousands of enemies had already been destroyed.
There was no clear when, finally, he could see that five of the Dao Seeking realm cultivators appeared in front of him.
They looked at him with smug looks.
The leader said, "So this is the rat that had already escaped our own before."
Li Jiwen looked at the man with even not the least look of amusement.
He laughed loudly.
"A rat?" he said. "You are the rats!"
"The heavenly Dao is the rat. It is the disease. It is the illness that wants to stop humans from thriving. It is the antithesis to everything that is free, that is in their own path. The Dao is merciless. The Dao is blind!"
The emissaries of fate looked at him like a crazed man, and all of them erupted into laughter.
Such an insane statement to say.
They thought Li Jiwen was not at his own mind.
The leader laughed even louder, declaring that Li Jiwen’s life would end now.
"Will you ever think, in the afterlife if there is any for you, that you did the wrong thing and did not comply with the heavenly Dao? Now you call us the emissaries of death and the Dao itself rats. You will see who is the rat, young man. You will see."
The leader advanced at Li Jiwen slowly.
The sword aura almost clanging to his own body as if he himself was a sword that would pierce the heavens without even stopping for a millisecond.
Li Jiwen did not hesitate with the man.
His eyes not wavering, his own perseverance thriving through his own existence.
He laughed loudly, saying, "Come on! Let me see what you can do. You are no other than a rat, a literal defamation, a literal illness that is against our own humans and our own kin. You are but a rat that is not of all importance. Let us see what you can do!"
Li Jiwen was now in grave danger.
Even the leader of the people that were advancing at him could kill him now.
He was weaker.
He could feel his own body failing, his own powers all stopping, and his breathing shallower than a little fish outside the water for a couple of minutes.
