Fang Zun was not someone who considered the other man an enemy, and as well, he was not considering him a friend.

He was already waiting for this moment to arrive.

He could tell that Fang Zun was using them both, and he did not like being used. But something inside him told him that this was not the reason for his own feeling of unease towards that man, but something else entirely.

Li Jiwen said, "Fellow Taoist Fang Zun, if it were not for you now, this fellow Taoist would be dead. So what do you consider doing with me at this moment as I was actually attacking him? If you have any way to do something, fellow Taoist."

Fang Zun looked at him angrily.

But Li Jiwen knew that this was all an act.

Fang Zun said, "Fellow Taoist, do you think that you have not gone too far now?"

Li Jiwen laughed and said, "No, no, I have not done and gone enough. At the moment, I need to do what I must. And you know that, fellow Taoist Fang Zun."

Li Jiwen knew that they were both acting at the moment, but Fang Zun was acting for an entirely different reason.

Li Jiwen was not like that.

"This was a fight of mine and this fellow Taoist, why do you intervene? You know that a fight between two cultivators is something so sacred and so important for a cultivator that even if you have already killed me, that would mean that you are a traitor to the unspoken rules of the cultivation realm. Did you think that is a bit too far, fellow Taoist?"

Finally, Fang Zun said, "Not truly too far."

Fang Zun’s eyes suddenly turned into a jolly look.

He looked at Li Jiwen and said slowly, "Fellow Taoist, did you not think you don’t have that quality of Earth’s people?"

Li Jiwen’s eyes slanted slowly, and suddenly he felt something behind him.

His own battle armor covered him, and at the very same time, the Sword of Neutralization appeared in his hand.

He blocked back the attacker.

It was none other than Fang Zun.

Li Jiwen looked at him seriously and said, "What does that mean, fellow Taoist Fang Zun?"

Fang Zun said, "You understand what I mean, fellow Taoist. Now hand it over."

Li Jiwen knew what he meant.

It was the system.

Li Jiwen would die before giving it up.

He said, "No, what do you mean by that, fellow Taoist? Do you truly want to fight me and have no hope in stopping the calamity?"

Fang Zun said, "If I have that, what you have, that gift, then I will be able to stop the calamity, no problem."

"You do not really think that you are the chosen one, the person that would stop the calamity without a second try?"

"Say, I have been here for a billion years, long before you and long before most humans have already been. And you now come and say that you want to stop all of us and control us all, just to stop the calamity, as you say, and you still have no hope. Have you forgotten what happened in the previous timeline, young man?"

Li Jiwen looked at him, and his existence felt terribly wrong.

He felt this was terribly wrong.

The system should have already prevented this, as he thought. But he did not expect that his own knowledge and the system’s own knowledge of his own were so much lacking that he would get jumped this way.

He said, "No, I do not know what you are saying."

Fang Zun smiled at him as if he were a peaceful grandpa.

Then he appeared in front of him, wanting to take control of his own Dao.

Li Jiwen knew that if that happened, he would be dead.

The system would probably be taken out of him.

He knew that this time if he truly died, then it would be eternal death.

He did not understand why exactly this was happening at the moment.

Why did this not happen in the previous life?

He knew that he was too flashy in this life.

He was too bright.

He understood that Fang Zun could not truly follow him and feel his own existence from afar.

But this really meant that he was actually going to the beast’s den with his own legs.

He knew that probably this would happen in the next life and the next and the next if he had not suffered this now.

He knew that if he was truly to be taken out of his own system, then he would be dead, utterly dead.

He knew that he was not quite strong enough to actually escape Fang Zun at the moment and try to kill him.

With a decisive move, he just began to charge his own existence and his own Dao through the system.

With a decisive move, Li Jiwen blew himself up.

His own body began to be engulfed in fire.

As the blood and dark energy of his own began to engulf the entirety of the world, the heavenly Dao descended in its own body.

It passed judgment on the entirety of this world, and all were dead again.

The cycle continued.

The cycle of life and death, and the Samsara continued, and no one batted an eye.

Li Jiwen knew that this was going to be terribly wrong and terribly hard on him.

Even if he tried to escape or hide, Fang Zun would hunt him down.

He understood now that he was put between a hard place and an anvil.

If he wanted to survive, that would be nigh impossible. But he still had hope. Every man had hope, and he was a human at core.

But now death had claimed him again.

In the actual emptiness between lives and deaths, he appeared again.

This time it was much longer than before, and he was waiting, waiting to take a vent and see what exactly Fang Zun was up to.

This was just the start, and he knew it at heart.
