Li Jiwen continued falling through the abyss, his body moving faster and faster, while the darkness around him became so thick that even his awareness began to slow.

He did not panic, because panic was useless, but he had never experienced a place that could resist his perception so clearly.

Even the abyss within the realm of cultivation couldn’t.

Every layer of darkness contained another layer beneath it, and every layer beneath that one seemed to be hiding an existence that had no name.

The deeper he went, the more his connection with the false dream realm weakened, and the more he felt something watching him from below.

It was not simple hostility, and it was not ordinary curiosity, but something much older, something that had already watched countless worlds rise and fall into nothing.

Li Jiwen smiled slightly, then looked at the sword in his hand, the weapon of the Grand God of Slaughter, Li Ming, shining with a dark bloody red light.

He had chosen the weapon because it was powerful, but he had not expected the sword to tremble inside the abyss as if it had recognized an enemy.

The blade gave a low sound, almost like the groan of a dying beast, and the sound moved through the darkness without being swallowed by it.

It echoed without an apparent stop.

Li Jiwen narrowed his red eyes.

’You know this place,’ he thought, holding the sword more tightly, ’and you are afraid of whatever is waiting below.’

The sword did not answer him, but its red light grew brighter, and countless lines appeared along its surface, lines that looked like ancient wounds carved into the blade itself.

Li Jiwen had never seen those marks before, even though the weapon had come directly from his own choice and should have obeyed his will.

That realization made him more cautious than before, because if the sword had a history outside his understanding, then the system had hidden something from him.

He understood the severity of this.

The darkness below suddenly moved, and a huge eye opened beneath him.

It was not an eye made of flesh, and it was not an eye made of light, but an enormous circle filled with endless layers of black and silver.

The eye looked at Li Jiwen, and for the first time since he had gained the powers of an Omniscient God, his existence became completely visible.

There was nowhere to hide, and there was no way to alter his aura, because the eye did not observe his body or his soul.

It observed the fact that he existed.

Li Jiwen stopped falling, and the darkness around him trembled from the force of his stop.

He looked down at the eye and said, "You are the Behemoth of Baal."

The eye remained still, but a voice finally appeared in the abyss, and the voice was so vast that it seemed to come from every possible direction.

"You carry the scent of the outer realm, but your foundation belongs to a smaller world."

Li Jiwen did not answer immediately, because the voice had not asked a question, and because he could feel the Behemoth examining every part of his existence.

It was not trying to read his memories, and it was not trying to steal his power, but it was measuring him against something that he could not understand.

That was more dangerous than a direct attack. Much much more dangerous.

A direct attack could be blocked, and a hidden intention could be crushed, but an examination that reached the meaning of his own existence was not so easy to defend against.

Li Jiwen slowly raised the sword and let its red radiance spread through the abyss.

The darkness recoiled, and the enormous eye closed halfway.

Li Jiwen said, "I came here to ask you some questions, but if you keep staring at me like an insect, I will cut you open and ask your corpse instead."

The abyss became silent.

Then the Behemoth laughed.

The laughter did not shake the ground, because there was no ground, but it made the countless realities outside the burrow bend toward this place.

Somewhere far away, golden trees lost their color, rivers began flowing upward, and creatures that had never known fear suddenly hid beneath the soil.

Li Jiwen felt those changes, and he understood that the laughter alone had affected the false dream realm.

This was not the strength of the Behemoth itself, but only the sound of its amusement.

"You are the first small existence to speak to me in that manner," Baal said, "and you are also the first one to carry a blade that should have already been destroyed."

Li Jiwen looked at the sword, then looked back at the eye.

"What is this sword?"

"It is the leftover will of a murderer who believed killing could create freedom, and it is the prison of a name that no longer exists."

Li Jiwen remained quiet for a moment, and his expression became serious.

The system had described the weapon as the sword of the Grand God of Slaughter, Li Ming, but it had never explained that the sword itself was a prison.

If Baal was telling the truth, then Li Ming had not merely left behind a weapon.

He had sealed something inside it.

Even as the writer of Li Ming, he didn’t know that...

The sword suddenly struggled in Li Jiwen’s grip, and its red light turned black at the edges.

A low whisper entered his mind, a sound that carried no words but still conveyed one clear desire.

It wanted to leave.

Li Jiwen’s fingers tightened around the hilt, and the power of the Omniscient God poured into the blade.

The sword resisted him, but the resistance lasted for less than a second, and the entire weapon became still beneath his control.

"You can leave after I finish using you," he said.

The blade answered with a sharp vibration.

Baal watched this exchange, and the enormous eye opened fully again.

"You control it by force, but force is not ownership, little god."

"I know," Li Jiwen replied, "but ownership is not necessary when I only need it to cut something."

The Behemoth became silent again, and this silence carried more weight than its laughter.

Li Jiwen suddenly felt a pressure descending from above, and he understood that the abyss had sealed itself.

The entrance had disappeared, the connection to the false dream realm had been cut, and even the system’s presence had become faint.

A window appeared before his eyes, but the words on it were broken and covered in dark stains.

[Warning, the current area cannot be fully recorded.]

[Warning, the host has entered a region outside the system’s authority.]

[Please do not engage the Behemoth of Baal without sufficient preparation.]

Li Jiwen read the three lines, then the window shattered.

He had expected the system to panic, but he had never expected it to admit that its authority was limited.

The dream realm was already beyond the realm of cultivation, and Baal had been described as something that could reveal almost anything within trillions of realities.

Now he understood that the behemoth was not merely a powerful creature living in the dream realm.

It was one of the reasons the dream realm had rules at all.

"System," Li Jiwen called, "what is Baal?"

There was no answer.

He called again, but only silence came back.

That silence made Li Jiwen’s smile disappear.

The system had always answered him, even when it refused to explain something, and this was the first time it had completely hidden itself.

Baal noticed the change in his expression.

"Your companion has abandoned you."

"It has not abandoned me," Li Jiwen said, "it is afraid of being noticed."

"There is little difference between the two."

Li Jiwen looked deeper into the enormous eye, using every part of his omniscient perception to examine Baal’s existence.

At first, he saw nothing except darkness, but after continuing, he began to notice countless shapes moving within that darkness.

There were worlds inside Baal’s eye, and there were lives inside those worlds, and there were other eyes inside the lives of those beings.

It was a chain without an end.

Each layer contained another reality, and every reality believed it was the true one.

Li Jiwen’s mind shook slightly as he understood the implication.

Baal’s body was not living inside the dream realm.

The false dream realm was living inside Baal.

The ground, the sky, the strange trees, and every creature he had encountered were only fragments of a consciousness that had been sleeping for longer than the realm itself could remember.

He had not entered a burrow.

He had entered a thought.

Li Jiwen’s face became pale, but his eyes became brighter.

’If this is a thought, every existence inside the dream realm may be part of Baal, and reaching its core may reveal where the dream realm came from.’

The behemoth stared at him, and this time its voice became colder.

"Do not search for my core."

Li Jiwen laughed softly.

"You can hear my thoughts?"

"I can hear the shape of your intention."

"That is close enough."

The enormous eye began to rotate, and the darkness around Li Jiwen compressed from every direction.

His omniscient power erupted instantly, creating a clear space around his body, but the pressure did not disappear.

It continued to move closer, slowly and patiently, as if the abyss had all the time in existence to do this.

Li Jiwen raised the sword and swung it downward.

A red line appeared in the darkness, and the pressure split apart with a sound like a mountain cracking.

The cut continued forward, crossing the enormous eye and reaching into the endless worlds hidden inside it.

For a single instant, Li Jiwen saw countless versions of Baal sleeping in different realities, each larger than the last, each surrounded by beings that worshiped it as the beginning of all things.

Then the cut stopped.

The sword trembled violently, and black blood began to flow from the wound in the eye.

The blood did not fall downward.

It became rain across thousands of worlds, and wherever it landed, the heavens lost their light.

Baal did not roar, and it did not attack with anger.

It simply opened its eye wider.

Li Jiwen felt his entire existence being pulled toward the wound, and every power within his body began to weaken.

The Omniscient God realm was no longer absolute here.

It was only another name, another position, another small advantage that could be taken away.

Li Jiwen had expected that possibility, and he had prepared for it before entering the abyss.

His body split into countless clones, and every clone appeared around the wound with a sword in its hand.

The clones did not attack Baal.

They attacked the darkness surrounding Baal, cutting away the layers that protected its thought.

One layer disappeared, then another, and then another, until the huge eye became clearer.

At the center of the eye, Li Jiwen saw a small white figure curled inside a cage.

The figure looked like a child, but its face had no features, and its body contained the silence of a long dead universe.

Li Jiwen understood that this was not Baal.

It was the thing Baal had swallowed.

The white figure lifted its head, and all the clones stopped moving at the same time.

A voice entered Li Jiwen’s mind, but the voice was not Baal’s, and it was not the system’s.

"Do you want to know why your world must be destroyed?"

Li Jiwen’s eyes narrowed.

The sword in his hand began to burn with black flames, and the abyss opened beneath him once more.

He looked at the white figure and said, "Tell me."

The figure rais

ed one hand and pointed toward his chest.

"Because you are not the one who was chosen to survive."

The moment those words ended, every clone was crushed into nothing, the sword broke apart in Li Jiwen’s hand, and the true Behemoth of Baal finally woke...
