"Oh..."
"What happened, Leo?" Lily asked.
"I think we forgot to submit the report of our mission."
"Ah..." Lily also realized it when Leo pointed it out.
"I think we might get a scolding from Vice Principal Tarun."
Kaelion simply waved it off.
"Nothing will happen. I bet they would be the ones thinking that they lacked somewhere for you both to forget about it. And even if that's not the case, this is not something you'll be scolded for... well, at least not for a couple of times."
Midway through his words, Kaelion realized that even Katherine and Brant had to submit reports for the different types of work they did. In other words, report writing was a type of training that was necessary.
As they discussed things, James, Sera, and the other 18 people simply couldn't pull their eyes away from the scene below them.
Wherever they looked, swathes of green forest covered every inch of land. Sometimes, a river would form a stroke of blue across the green canvas, while the high-rising hills and mountains would pull their eyes toward a new location. And, of course, there were the occasional circular-walled cities that were even bigger than Milti City.
A particular city even attracted Leo and Lily's attention. It was literally formed inside a hollowed-out mountain, through which defensive structures poked out. Many guards were relaxing in the open, and a few even waved back at them.
The reason they were so calm about the appearance of a huge beast like Thunderveil Skyreaver was because Kaelion had adjusted some GPS settings on his phone and given a description of his travel that notified any city in his path that a friendly aerial unit was about to cross the location.
And just like that, they entered the grounds of the Academy at the 10,000-kilometre mark from the main building. They only travelled a little farther before cold, chilly wind started to flow through the air. Lily and Leo deployed extra barriers of wind so that James, Sera, and the others wouldn't feel too much cold.
The 20 people even brought out the winterwear they had carried with themselves when Lily had told them to and put it on. In no time, Skyreaver was seen landing on the designated landing area, from where they all swiftly made their way into Aurelius Hall.
The Kendru people were quickly passed through a screening to check for any demonic contamination, after which the process of registering them as citizens of Aurelius Kingdom—affiliated with Leo's territory—began.
They were soon given their new identification, and Leo proceeded to buy them all their life bracelets, mobile phones, and mana-repellent rings.
Lily and Miho then took them to the market to buy their necessities, while Leo and Kaelion quickly got updated on the current situation inside the Academy.
Apparently, the preparation for the Inter-Academy competitions was in full swing, and many people were competing to get their chance to participate.
Since, except for the top 10 individuals, there was a provision for 15 more students to take part alongside them as support. Support might include a fighting force, an exceptional healer, and even someone who could provide them with utilities like potions and explosives.
But out of those 15 people, 5 were to be personally selected by the top 10 individuals according to their preferences. In other words, people were fighting for the 10 spots available. And even then, those winning people would need to pass the screening of the top 10 students to be finally selected.
Though important, they still had 5 days left, so Leo and Kaelion departed towards the territory to make the necessary preparations.
Leo also needed to instruct his people on many things during the time they would be absent so that things didn't remain idle like they had during the past month in the guise of rest.
But before going back, Leo made a quick trip to Aurelius Hall to buy a certain thing.
By the time Leo, along with James and the others, arrived in the territory, night had already fallen. Meaning most people were back, and it was a great opportunity to introduce the new people.
And so, everybody was called for a meeting at a place specifically made by the elves for meetings, with seating for many people and a stage for the spokesperson to speak, which was Leo.
"Today, we are going to welcome the new members of our territory that Lily and I have personally recruited from our home city, Kendru."
He gestured towards the group of 20 people standing beside them.
Leo continued.
"The person with the bear-like physique you see at the centre of them is my sworn brother, James, and standing beside him is his beautiful wife, Big Sister Sera. And for your information, they are directly going to be core members of the territory and leader figures whose orders you need to obey."
James glanced at Leo as if complaining about the way he had introduced him, but he still introduced himself.
"I am James, the former city lord of Kendru, with the nobility status of Baron. Nice to meet you all. I hope we build a prosperous and happy territory together."
"Lord James, will it be alright to call Sir James?" Brok spoke from behind. Then he quickly corrected himself.
"I-I mean, we refer to Lord Leo as Lord, so to not make it confusing..."
"Of course, you can," James said.
"Brok," Leo spoke.
"I never recall you calling me Lord. From what I remember, you call me Boss?"
Brok scratched the back of his head sheepishly.
"Haha, Boss, I need to speak up for my introverted friends, no?" he said with a laugh.
"Yeah, yeah, alright. Brother James can be referred to as Sir James and Sister Sera as Miss Sera. Any confusion?"
"No!" Everybody responded.
Leo swept his gaze across all the people.
Numerous Gnomes at the back were intently listening to his speech, the 20 elves were spread evenly across the area, with the 4-meter-tall golem at the back like a statue, the 17 young maids huddled together, Virat and Veronica calmly seated side by side, beside them those three blue-haired, cheeky girls, Brok, and finally the 3 women of the feather shop.
Hm... I think from here on, I can finally make productive use of these 3 girls with their mind interference skill. He thought, thinking about all the information that could be extracted by other people when the restaurant and bar were to be made, with the tasty food served by the people of Kendru and the maids.
With that, Leo brought out several scrolls of mana contracts on a wooden table and told the maids, the Kendru people except James and Sera, and the 3 women of the feather shop to stand at the side.
