A remark was a special note from the analyst that outlined the approximate function of the talent based on observations of previous similar talent bearers. Since people couldn't see a talent's description like Leo, they could only make an approximate guess.
Even Leo couldn't see anyone's talent description unless they were connected to him through some sort of soul bond. In other words, Leo would need to rely on the remark in the test results to understand Sera's talent.
Though he did notice that the talent rank was 1-star. Meaning, even if the talent might be very useful and even better than a combat talent in some cases when acting as support, Sera wouldn't be able to grow very strong physically.
Her natural potential was just Peak 1-star, and if pushed by natural treasures and soul-enhancing treasures, she could at most become a Peak 2-star being due to the presence of a talent.
"It's great... Looks like that one Elasian Bloom petal that she consumed when she was heavily injured allowed her soul to strengthen and finally show the full effect of her talent," Leo muttered.
Lily nodded in agreement.
"Her talent seemed to be showing previously with how good her food tasted, and the soul advancement acted as the final trigger."
When Leo heard Lily, he had a thought about how many people simply couldn't have their talents displayed because of their non-existent soul strength. Meaning, when the academy selection was happening back in Kendru, when only 50% out of 1000 had been tested to have talents, there might have been many more who were missed simply due to low soul ranks—perhaps even lower than the common threshold, making the result appear as no talent.
"Damn, what if someone with a talent like Lily or me is getting missed every single day and dying without achieving anything?"
Leo could already imagine a simple solution for these talented individuals who were being missed: simply introduce a small amount of soul-enhancing treasure—just the minimum required to strengthen the weakest individual's soul enough to display their talent so they wouldn't be missed.
Though it would significantly increase assessment costs, it would not outweigh the cost-benefit ratio. Because simply 1 out of 10,000, or even 100,000, having a 5-star talent would cover all the costs.
Is it done intentionally? Leo thought.
Because if Leo was capable of deducing this with such limited information, there was no way higher authorities didn't know about this.
Fuck, too many things are going on backstage. I need to grow quickly to know all these things.
"Leo?" Lily called out in confusion after sensing the turmoil in Leo's mind.
Leo snapped out of his thoughts.
"Nothing, got distracted by some random thought. Though I have an idea. Want to hear it?"
"What is it?" Lily asked with a smile, leaning a bit closer.
"How about we construct a lavish restaurant with Sister Sera as the head chef? That way, we can even employ those 17 young maids effectively. I bet their presence will attract a lot of customers, and finally, those 3 girls—Aina, Sylva, and Mira. They can utilize their mind interference skill to extract information from those who come to eat. Because as they are now, I don't see them as useful."
Lily's mind was blown by the idea.
"This... Leo! How does your mind work so effectively!?" she exclaimed, literally jumping to her feet.
"I had been worrying about where to have those inexperienced girls work, and your idea is perfect! Since you say these girls were trained to enhance their charm to entice men, this is perfect... You know what, I will have it built right away!"
She seemed to be about to dart away when she suddenly recalled a jarring issue.
"Sister Sera... She is 4 months pregnant." She looked up at Leo with a troubled expression.
"I want her to rest for the rest of the time; she had already been subjected to enough worry before coming here."
Leo simply shrugged.
"Who said she can't rest? I am sure she is completely capable of at least training those maids and people from Kendru while sitting. And from what I know, pregnant ladies can safely work for 6 months, after which they need to slow down and completely rest from the 9th month onward," Leo said, displaying his knowledge of the previous world.
"Since it's the 4th month, she can safely train people for 1 month. Though it's only my suggestion; in the end, you get to decide. Even so, it's not like others cannot cook, especially since they used to work in the restaurant alongside you; they must have developed decent skills."
Lily contemplated Leo's words for a while.
"You're right, and I am sure Sister won't like sitting idle either. Let's do that, then."
Leo nodded.
"Alright, you decide on the place it needs to be built, and I will lay the foundations. Try to choose a place near the teleportation array; it will attract attention. Meanwhile, I will look for a good place to build the thing that I have been planning for a while now."
Lily raised her brow.
"What's that?"
"Public hot spring," Leo said with a grin.
"They will act like magnets for most people in this weather."
Lily was once again amazed.
With that, both of them got to work looking for a good place.
While on the way, Leo tried to sense the amount of energy stored by the Titanbreath Lotus for the next advancement and Howl's personal energy levels.
For the Titanbreath Lotus, there was only a small increase from 5% energy reserves to 7% with all the hunted beast corpses the elves had been dumping.
As for Howl, the system response was very interesting.

Strength: 3960 [7960] + {90% boost (Optional)}
Agility: 3950 [7950] + {140% boost (Optional)}

Intelligence: 7270 [11,270] {50% boost (Optional)}

Here, the number outside the bracket shows Leo's base stats—those that are his own without beast feedback.
So, 3970 in Vitality is Leo's personal stat, and even if all the beast feedback were to be removed, it would remain the same.
Now, for the number inside the bracket, i.e. [7970] in the Vitality section—it's the combined value of Leo's base stat + Beast's feedback.
Meaning, 7970 = 3970 + 4000. And 4000 is the total feedback stats Leo receives from his beasts.
AND!
This 4000 feedback is what other people can sense to determine Leo's strength level! Nobody can sense Leo's base stats due to the system; as for the optional boost provided by the traits, those cannot be sensed in general for any being. Even Leo cannot sense the boost from the traits of any being.

The rest of the beasts' ranks are way too low for stat share.
As for the % boost, I don't think it needs an explanation. A 50% boost in Vitality means that when Leo activates it, the stat—7970 becomes 11,955—a 50% boost.

Since many readers get confused when various stat upgrades occur in the story, I have decided to change how stats are displayed.
From now on, it will be shown like this.
