Absolute Beast Dominion

Chapter 660: Bad People! Papa, Let Me Beat Them Up! - 1

The first thing that came to Leo's mind was that Zelut had hit a bottleneck.

"Alright, let's get him analysed while we have time," Leo said before calling Zelut and Ashira over to the Titanbreath Lotus.

But another beast also tagged along with Ashira, wearing an irritated expression.

It was Agnivar. His private moments with Ashira were getting interrupted again and again.

"What?" Leo asked while looking him in the eyes.

"Nothing. Finish whatever you're doing quickly," Agnivar said hurriedly.

"What's the hurry? She will be gone for a while now. If you want to tag along, get into my spiritual space."

Agnivar narrowed his eyes.

"Are you planning to make her stronger? Don't do that—"

Leo raised his hand to stop him.

"Not stronger, just some checkups."

Saying that, he called both beasts forward.

"Zelut, Ashira, come forward."

Both beasts came, though Zelut looked unusually excited to be of some use.

But there was one problem.

"How do I draw my blood?" Leo muttered before bringing out the broken dagger.

But the blade section had been completely ripped away, leaving only the handle. So there was no way he could use it to cut his tough skin.

"Lily," he called and extended his hand.

"Use a wind blade to cut my wrist. I need my blood to form a blood bond with them."

Agnivar raised his head slightly when he heard that, but then lowered it again and lay down.

Lily carefully took Leo's hand and looked up.

"How much blood is needed?" she asked.

"Just a small amount for meaningful contact with their tongue."

Lily nodded, and the next second, she partially spirit-integrated with Lunaria, forming a translucent claw on her right arm, with sharp, pointed metallic tips on her fingers that raged with suppressed wind energy, razor-sharp.

Then, as if his hand were the most delicate thing in the world, she carefully lowered her claws like a surgeon working on a patient where even a small mistake could be fatal.

"It's not that serious..." Leo muttered while forcibly loosening his skin so that some damage could be done.

Lily only made a tiny cut, just enough for a small stream of blood to flow, and quickly deactivated the claws.

"Zelut, Ashira, quick!" she called, as if even that tiny injury were a serious wound.

Both beasts obeyed their mother figure wholeheartedly and formed the blood bond with Leo.

Lily then proceeded to quickly heal the cut and sighed in relief as if it were some big deal.

Leo simply shook his head.

He couldn't do anything about this overly protective side of hers.

Lily then proceeded to pick up Zelut's nearly 1.5-meter-tall body and started squeezing it, feeling its chubby body.

Chu! Squeak!

Zelut cried in protest, but Lily gave it no rest.

"You could really work as a great pillow!" Lily said excitedly.

Chu?

Zelut stopped panicking and contemplated Lily's words before looking toward Leo and raising his tiny black claws.

Chu!

He was clearly ready to act as a pillow for Leo, just like he had in the Ember City Secret Realm when Leo had slept while holding onto him to keep cool.

Leo ignored whatever was going on and focused on the skill.

"Infusion?"

Leo muttered before raising his hand and coating it in an icy mist. Then he tried it on different parts of his body, and it worked on all of them.

And it wasn't the same as [Iceveil Hide]. Leo could tell that it was inherently affecting his body while also enhancing some capabilities, such as agility, just as the skill description suggested.

"Good. Zelut, work on your new skill more whenever you have time."

Chu!

Zelut said excitedly, though that would need to wait until after the competition, since Leo was taking every beast except Howl.

He didn't know why, but his beasts were not able to make any good progress in increasing their skill mastery inside the spiritual space. It wasn't that there was none, but it felt as if efficiency was reduced by 99% compared to the physical world.

So he couldn't train them while keeping them in the spiritual space. This was why their skill progress was so low; otherwise, everyone's skills would already be at High or even Peak.

"Well, it's just a matter of time until the Inter-Academy Competition gets over. After that, there will be no need to keep my beasts hidden. They can train all they want in the open," Leo muttered before unsummoning everybody—except Niri—and heading to the Analysis Centre.

After Zelut and Ashira's test, a surprising result came out.

Neither of them was facing any bottleneck.

"From my guess, it should be your personal soul capabilities that must be hindering your beasts' growth," Qaran, the analyst, said.

Leo frowned.

"What do you mean?"

"Don't get angry if I'm intruding, but from what I've seen, including these two, you should have a total of 5 beasts, right?" Qaran asked.

Leo nodded, not planning to reveal that he had 3 more.

"That's it. You should be aware that your soul has a limit. And even though it can 'potentially' tame a very high number of beasts, you need to have mastered many soul techniques for that potential to show up.

"Though I'm not well-versed in the soul department, I can confidently say that your beasts are having difficulty advancing because of you. I suggest you refrain from taming any more beasts and focus on strengthening the bonds with your current ones. And also, learn some soul techniques so that you can utilise more of your soul's potential."

Qaran was rather blunt in his assessment, but that made Leo fall into contemplation.

"But hey, your soul must be made out of iron if you were able to tame 5 beasts. Most hit a hard cap at 3, while many remain at 2."

As if Qaran thought he had been very harsh, he gave Leo some praise—not wanting to be banned from entering Leo's territory and losing the chance of getting those Bloodwarm Berries.

Leo paid the assessment cost and headed toward the Storm Hall.

"Don't worry, Leo. Professor Gunther will surely handle this matter," Lily encouraged.

"Papa, are you sad?" Niri also asked while floating to his face level.

The sight of a girl floating around Leo and Lily was quite the spectacle, attracting many eyes. But they paid no attention to it.

Leo stroked Niri's red hair and smiled.

"No, how can I be sad when you're around?"

"Ehehe." She giggled and revolved around the couple like a fairy.

Soon, they got together with Kaelion, Miho, and Sylrael along the way and made their way to the destination.
