Chapter 662: Introductions

"Leo! What is the meaning of this? You have a child, and you didn't inform us?" Aaron asked in shock.

"Yeah, Lily! You hid this?" Dhalia asked, jumping up in her seat as she tried her best to get a glimpse of Niri, who had perfectly hidden herself behind Sylrael.

Many didn't say much because, apparently, Uraan, Marco, Ronan, and Tavian all had their own children—just back in their hometowns. But they were curious nonetheless.

But it was Uraan who noticed the anomaly when Niri tried to poke her head out from the side to look at them.

"Long ears... she's an elf..."

His words caught everyone's attention.

"Eh?"

It was then that they noticed everything that didn't match Leo's or Lily's features. Long ears, red hair, and the unusually grown-up appearance with 5'1" height. Even though it was quite possible for Niri to have grown that much, Lily would have needed to give birth almost 14 to 15 years ago, which was simply not possible.

They knew Leo would never be that careless if they had such a deep relationship.

"Is she adopted?" Marco finally asked.

Then, finally, their attention shifted to Sylrael—noticing that she was also an elf.

"Is she the mother?" Uraan blurted out.

Though they didn't want to believe it, if Niri was addressing Lily and Leo as mother and father, and if Sylrael was indeed the mother, then the only possibility would be Sylrael being with Leo's consort. Which was almost impossible considering Lily's personality and Sylrael's status as a slave.

But their confusion was immediately cleared up.

"No! Big sister is big sister! Papa is Papa, and Mama is Mama!" Niri shouted in a cute voice, casting a furious glance towards Uraan, who had assumed such an absurd thing.

"Eh—oh... Okay..." Uraan had no words to say against Niri's stare.

"Pay attention, brats." At that time, Brant spoke up from behind.

"The child you are seeing is the perfect humanoid beast as it can be; don't guess the wrong things. She considers Leo and Lily as father and mother because they have that strong of a bond, and something that all beast masters should yearn for." Saying that, he closed his eyes once again, leaning back on the wall and let them decide the rest.

He was here as a supervisor so things didn't go wrong; he wasn't supposed to interfere much.

As for why he revealed Niri was a beast, he had already asked Leo through their telepathic connection for permission to do so, and Leo had allowed it.

"A beast?" everybody said, looking towards Niri at the same time, which made her hide behind Sylrael again.

"HUH?!!!?" This time, it wasn't only Dhalia who rose from her seat, but everybody.

"Oi! Oi! Oi! Is that even possible?" Marco was baffled. He had never even known a beast could take a literal human form.

"She can even speak fluently!" Lyra exclaimed.

"Let me get a closer look!" Dhalia said and disappeared from her place, only to appear behind Niri.

But the next second, Niri also disappeared from her place and was found high up near the room's ceiling.

"Bad Aunty! You cannot catch me!" Niri said haughtily and floated around.

At Niri's comment, Ronan and Aaron snickered. But Dhalia cast a sharp glance towards them.

"Cough!!" Both men coughed and instructed the healers to heal their bodies.

Dhalia looked up at Niri.

"Listen here! I am no aunty, but a big sister! Alright?" she said in a soft voice as one would use when talking to a child.

But Niri pulled her lower eyelids down with a finger and stuck out her tongue.

"Aunty! Bad Aunty!"

"You!" Dhalia grew frustrated.

While that was going on, Leo looked around the room.

Except for his group and the top 10 individuals, Leo spotted four unique individuals.

Three were obviously the healers standing behind Ronan and Aaron, who looked very spent after casting a lot of healing magic. Two of them were Peak 2-star, and one was Pseudo 3-star.

The last person was the interesting one. He was a birdman slave who resembled an eagle, with a white-and-brown-feathered face. He was equipped with armour and a sturdy spear. He was a Low 3-star warrior who stood at attention, his taloned legs firmly planted on the floor.

But Leo did notice that he was different from the previous birdman slaves Leo had seen with Uraan; this one was different. Unlike the previous ones, who had their hands and wings as one limb, this eagleman had separate sets of wings originating from the latissimus dorsi (lats) and trapezius (traps) muscles on the back.

Even when folded, Leo could tell the wingspan must be greater than 4 meters, 2 at each side.

The eagleman noticed Leo's gaze but simply lowered his head, adhering to Uraan's words not to provoke anybody.

"Interesting..." Leo muttered.

Because the presence of four people meant they had already decided to fill four of the five slots with their men, leaving only one for Leo and his team.

In other words, there were bound to be some disputes.

Well, I guess that's what this meeting is for, Leo thought.

By now, Lily had already done the introduction.

"Nice to meet you all. My name is Niri, and my Papa is Papa Leo and Mama, Mama Lily!" she said cheerfully with a slight, courteous bow.

Everyone was amazed by the gesture.

"Wow, she has more manners than some entitled brats I know..." Tavian muttered. Though nobody could tell whether he was talking about someone else or them.

As a courtesy, the other people also introduced themselves to Niri, and Niri nodded her head as if remembering each of them.

Then her eyes naturally went to the unique person in the room, and she immediately floated towards him.

"Who are you?" Niri asked as she looked left, right, up, and down at the eagleman.

The eagleman seemed nervous due to Uraan's order to remain quiet as he looked towards him.

"Introduce yourself. These are the people that we need to fight together with."

The eagleman nodded.

"I am Rhaegar the Eagleman. I specialise in spearmanship, and my master is Lord Uraan Hurricane."

"Nice to meet you!" Niri said, then got back to standing beside Lily.

"Good girl, I am proud of you." Lily praised with a smile and patted her head.

After that, Leo gestured towards Miho and Sylrael.

"Sylrael, Miho, introduce yourselves."
