Absolute Loser Becomes The Pleasure King Using Satan System
Chapter 34.This is actually my second life-3Chapter 34: 34.This is actually my second life-3
"Would you really choke someone just because they share a last name with Braden?"
Venice asked, an amused smirk lingering on her face despite the grip around her throat.
The rage on Mylo’s face didn’t fade.
"Earlier, you bragged about being the safest person on this campus. Now it all adds up. If you’re part of his family, that would make complete sense."
"Family huh? Well, you’re not wrong," she rasped out.
"I’m his older sister. Doesn’t look like it, does it? I could easily pass for a high school girl.
’’But hey, I didn’t think you held Braden in such high regard, believe me, he’s not that big of a deal."
"I’m not talking about Braden."
Mylo’s response caught Venice completely off guard, her amusement instantly evaporating.
"I’m talking about Aldoff Vance."
Every hair on Mylo’s body stood on end, his heart hammering against his ribs at a terrifying pace.
Venice, on the other hand, fell into a stunned silence the moment the name left his lips.
"So... you actually know that name, huh?"
she murmured, her voice dropping as her eyes locked onto his.
"I can’t believe it..."
She searched his eyes, mesmerized.
"Are you angry? Are you sad? Or are you terrified? Just how intense are your feelings toward him?"
Her backpack slipped from her grip and thudded onto the floor.
Slowly, she raised her hand to rest against Mylo’s arm, tracing it upward until her fingertips touched his cheek, studying his expression with genuine wonder.
"You’re just a freshman... when on earth did you ever get the chance to build such a deep story with Aldoff?"
Mylo paid no attention to her barrage of curious questions.
Inside his head, his mind was frantically combing through the memories of his past life.
This makes no sense.
I clearly remember there were no other Vance siblings besides Briden and Aldoff.
If she existed, there’s no way I wouldn’t have known about her. How could I have forgotten something like this?
Before he could spiral further, another harsh wave of reality struck him.
Wait... how much did I actually know about those people back then?
What was my life even like, whether at college or at home? How many people did I genuinely connect with?
I couldn’t even fill the fingers on my hands counting the people I truly knew.
His grip on Venice’s throat slackened. Slowly, he lowered his hand, letting her go.
"What were your intentions?" Mylo asked, his voice heavy.
"Why did you do all of this? And please... answer me truthfully. I don’t want to hurt you."
’’Hurt me? You should know that just calling for more trouble.’’
She caressed the spot where Mylo was holding her. Her soft skin had a clear red mark of his fingers.
"Like I told you earlier, I just don’t want an innocent girl getting hurt. That’s why I did it, that’s why I’m stepped in," Venice replied.
"But now... it seems you already have a history with him, don’t you?"
She looked him straight in the eyes, her expression shifting from curious to dead serious.
"In that case, you tell me, should I really be getting involved with you and your friend?"
I...don’t feel any bad intentions from her.
It’s not like there was ever a moment in my previous life where I saw her do anything wrong.
Besides, all this emotional turmoil stems strictly from my past life.
In this current reality, the matter between Braden and me is still small, it can be handled in many other ways.
There’s no reason for Aldoff to get involved yet.
Weighing his options, it became clear to Mylo that accepting Venice’s help was his best move.
"I’m sorry for what I just did," Mylo said, his voice grave.
"I couldn’t control myself. Please... if you can, could you take care of Reina for the time being?"
Venice’s dead-serious expression instantly melted into a smug, victorious smirk.
"Now that’s how you should have behaved from the very beginning. Don’t worry, I’ll look after her for now."
Hoisting her bag back onto her shoulder, she opened the door to leave, stopping just before stepping out.
"By the way... you still haven’t told me what your deal with Aldoff is."
Mylo simply shrugged.
"Honestly? This is my second life. In my first one, I was relentlessly bullied by Braden and Aldoff. That’s why I hate them so much."
He spoke nonchalantly, stepping over to her desk to grab the water bottle.
Venice made a dramatically annoyed face before breaking into a wide, sarcastic grin.
"Oh, totally! And in my previous life, I was a tragic princess betrayed by her own family! Now in this life, I’m still stuck in the exact same mess. Won’t you save me, hero?"
Scoffer to herself, she finally stepped out into the hallway.
"If you need to rest, feel free to crash here for a bit. Just make sure you lock the door on your way out."
She shut the door behind her. Mylo took a heavy swig of water, but just as he set the bottle back down, the door burst open once more.
"And hey! Don’t go pulling anything funny with my stuff, got it?"
Venice teased, throwing him a sharp wink before slamming the door shut again.
"Don’t worry, I’m not planning on staying long anyway," Mylo muttered to the empty room, though she was already long gone.
Mylo sat on the chair again, pondering over the events and his next step.
Right now, the immediate danger comes from Braden.
I never expected him to go as far as attempting to kidnap Reina, but then again, it fits his reckless nature to lash out like this.
With Venice stepping in, Reina should be safe inside the hostel.
But once she steps outside, I’ll need to keep a close eye on her.
He stared down at his hands, his knuckles tight.
Beyond that, if I don’t get stronger, there’s no way I can protect her, myself, or anything else I care about.
For that, the system is very crucial.
The biggest setback, though, is the restriction. I can’t wield multiple magical powers or abilities granted by the System simultaneously.
I wonder if there’s a loophole to bypass that limit? I’ll need to keep my eyes wide open for any clues.
Then there’s the physical toll. I have to manage my body’s exhaustion.
If I head to Narak, I can take longer breaks there, a five-hour nap in that realm only is equal to an hour on Earth.
The only downside is that I have to travel all the way to the lake every single time I want to shift realities.
He stood up and let out a long stretch.
First things first: today’s induction program. Since the seniors are going to introduce themselves, it’ll be my first time seeing Aldoff in this life.
Stepping out of the room, he walked down toward the hostel entrance.
Warden Amantha was still standing there, looking shaken.
This time, Mylo didn’t speak with any of his previous sharpness. He tore a small slip of paper from the register on the counter and wrote his mobile number on it.
"This is my contact number," he said, handing it to her. "If anything like this happens again, call me immediately."
He turned to leave, but paused near the glass door, looking back at her one last time.
"Venice said you have your own story... I understand. I have my own share of problems, and I’ve lived through situations where I couldn’t gather the courage to act either.
’’It might sound hypocritical coming from me, but please... protect Reina and the rest of the girls here."
Without waiting for a response, Mylo pushed open the door and walked out into the morning air.
Amantha lowered her gaze to the slip of paper in her trembling hand, then looked through the glass imbeded doors at the boy’s retreating figure.
Nodding softly to herself, she turned and went back inside to resume her duties.
