Age of Wizards: I Can Analyze All Things
Chapter 334 - 190: Ancient Runes, Joining ForcesChapter 334: Chapter 190: Ancient Runes, Joining Forces
He let out a long breath. He had his work cut out for him.
However, he quite enjoyed this fulfilling life, feeling his strength advance with each passing day.
Pei Ze rose and left the Meditation Room. He summoned Nymph and sent her on an errand to the Travelers’ Association’s post.
That same evening, Nymph returned with a dimensional bag. It was packed with a dense pile of books, all of them detailing the models for Five-Ring Magic.
Only a little over a hundred types of Five-Ring Magic were in circulation on the open market, but the Travelers’ Association was resourceful enough to collect over one hundred and thirty for Pei Ze.
Without a second thought, Pei Ze studied every single one of the Five-Ring Magic spells.
With his ample Spiritual Power, it only took him a short while.
The subsequent modification and imprinting stages, however, required careful selection.
Previously, Pei Ze’s main methods of attack had relied on Elemental Runes and his Silver Star; he rarely used Attack Magic anymore.
He could foresee that in the future, his attacks would primarily rely on ancient runes.
Therefore, he wasn’t heavily reliant on Attack Magic. Aside from a handful of offensive spells like [Death Cloud Skill] and [Wither and Decay Skill], he focused mainly on support Magic.
For example, [Breaking Barrier], which could dispel most enchantments, curses, and petrification.
[Demon Duncan’s Secret Chamber], which could create an area impervious to any scrying or detection.
[Teleportation Technique], which allowed teleportation to any point within a certain range.
[Peeping Demon Eye], which could create multiple floating magical eyes for reconnaissance.
[Demon Soul Pot], which allowed him to possess another creature and control its every action, and so on.
Of course, he didn’t neglect defensive Magic either.
Magic such as [Force Field Technique] and [Bigby’s Protective Palm] were also on his list for modification and imprinting.
In the end, Pei Ze modified nearly fifty Magic spells in one go.
However, the number of facets on his Spirit Crystal was limited, so for now, he could only imprint about twenty of them. The rest would have to wait until he had formed his third Spirit Crystal.
...
「Blue Bay City, Inner City.」
A mansion in the Inner City, near the central district.
As Shang Tao and Peng Yi passed through the mansion’s main gate, a curvaceous young woman of the Winged Serpent Race approached, bowing in greeting.
Peng Yi waved his hand and got straight to the point. "Where is your master?"
"He has a guest. The master is entertaining them in the study right now."
"A guest?" Curiosity flickered across Peng Yi’s face. "From where?"
The young Winged Serpent woman hesitated. She recalled that the two men were acquaintances of her master and had visited the mansion many times, so she decided not to hide the information. In a low voice, she said, "The guest is from Red Lotus City. His name is Gong Quanhai."
"It’s him!"
Shang Tao and Peng Yi exchanged a look, surprised expressions appearing on both their faces.
Gong Quanhai was the sole Wizard chosen to represent Red Lotus City in the upcoming Battle of the Holy Ring.
He was rumored to be a direct descendant of the Vice-Chairman of the Red Lotus Council, who was a Rule Wizard. By the age of twelve, his Spiritual Power had already reached the standard of an Official Wizard. He advanced to a Second-level Wizard at fifteen and broke through to become a Level 3 Wizard at nineteen. He was known as the leader of Red Lotus City’s younger generation of Wizards.
"Why would Gong Quanhai come looking for Yin Yao?" Peng Yi frowned, speaking his mind bluntly.
Shang Tao mused, "Perhaps he’s here to gather intelligence."
Yin Yao, the master of this mansion, was the Wizard that Blue Bay City had long since chosen to represent it in the Battle of the Holy Ring.
For Gong Quanhai to suddenly visit Yin Yao, it was indeed possible he had come to probe for information.
Shang Tao and Peng Yi exchanged a look and decided to wait in the mansion. They would ask Yin Yao about the purpose of Gong Quanhai’s visit once he came out.
Meanwhile, in the study on the third floor of the main mansion, the two men in question were chatting and laughing together.
"It’s been almost three years since we last met in the Dark Territory, hasn’t it?" Gong Quanhai said with a smile.
"That’s right." A nostalgic look flickered in Yin Yao’s eyes as he laughed. "We were both still Second-level Wizards back then. Our strength was lacking, and we were chased by a pack of Wax Melting Demons for three days and two nights. We nearly lost our lives in the Dark Territory."
Gong Quanhai raised an eyebrow. "Those proud, arrogant Dark Elves. We only taunted them a little, and they tried to hunt us down and kill us. I’ve never forgotten that grudge!"
"After I became a Level 3 Wizard, I made another trip to the Dark Territory. I infiltrated the Dark Elves’ city and killed the Female Priestess who gave the order."
Yin Yao was stunned for a moment, then shook his head and laughed, not expecting that Gong Quanhai had actually gone and done something like that.
A Priest of her standing, assassinated in her own city... Those Dark Elves must have been driven mad with rage.
Yin Yao took a sip of his black tea, then gave Gong Quanhai a knowing look. "You didn’t come here today just to reminisce, did you?" he said casually. "If you have something on your mind, just say it."
Gong Quanhai chuckled softly. No longer beating around the bush, he said in a low, serious tone, "How about we team up during the Battle of the Holy Ring?"
"Team up?"
"That’s right." A sharp glint flashed in Gong Quanhai’s eyes. "The Battle of the Holy Ring always gathers a host of geniuses, and this time will be no exception. Even with our strength, we won’t necessarily stand out among the participants. It would be better for the two of us to team up and work together against the others."
Yin Yao raised an eyebrow. "But in the end, there can only be one winner in the Battle of the Holy Ring."
"It won’t be too late to decide a winner between ourselves after we’ve eliminated everyone else. This benefits both of us, does it not?"
Yin Yao fell into a thoughtful silence, slowly drinking his black tea.
By the time he finished the cup of black tea, he had made his decision.
