Chapter 380: Chapter 204: Extreme Physique, Everything is Ready

Chenxi City, Inner City, Talin District.

The Talin District got its name from the hundreds of Wizard Towers that constantly floated high above the Inner City.

As the very heart of Chenxi City, the Talin District was also known as the inner sanctum of the Inner City. The offices of the Dawn Council and its various subordinate agencies were all located in this area, and nearly everyone one saw was a Wizard.

After passing through the long passageway of the city gate and entering the streets of the Talin District, Yin Xue looked at the scene before her—so familiar, yet with a hint of strangeness—and couldn’t help but feel a surge of emotion.

She had been away from Chenxi City for over three years. Now, the plane war had finally come to an end. With the Thunder Sect Country destroyed, the entire Turin Plane had fallen into the hands of Chenxi City and Red Lotus City. All that remained was to suppress the scattered pockets of local resistance.

That, however, was a task for the other units of the Silver Light Legion. The Witch Hunting Team’s involvement wasn’t needed, which was why she was finally able to return to Chenxi City.

"We’re finally back."

Yin Guang, who was walking behind Yin Xue, let out a long sigh of relief.

During his three-odd years on the Turin Plane, he had spent most of his time on various missions. He had fought in dozens upon dozens of battles, if not a hundred, and his Spirit had been stretched taut most of the time.

Now that he was back in a familiar city, he immediately felt himself relax.

Of course, as difficult as the past three years had been, the rewards had been significant.

He had successfully broken through to the Level 1 Liquid Stage and was not far from crystallization.

As for his cousin, Yin Xue, she had advanced to become a Second-level Wizard long ago. Among their peers, aside from the Chosen, almost no one had achieved more.

The qualifier "almost" was necessary because a monster like Pei Ze existed.

"We’ve been working so hard for so long. Now that we’re back, we should take a good long rest."

"How about we go for a drink at the tavern?"

"Great idea!"

The other young Wizards in the group cheered in agreement.

After battling for so long on the Turin Plane, now that they could finally relax, they lost their usual composure, desperate to blow off some steam.

"I’m all for a drink," Yin Xue said, turning back with a smile, "but first, we have to go to the station and complete our handover procedures."

These young Wizards were all members of her squad.

She had started as a squad leader in the Witch Hunting Team. After accumulating enough merit and advancing to become a Second-level Wizard, she had naturally been promoted to squadron leader, with over thirty Wizards under her command.

Yin Xue was highly respected within the team, so when she spoke, her subordinates all voiced their agreement in unison.

The group then made their way toward the legion’s station.

It was noon, and the streets were crowded. To Yin Xue’s and the others’ surprise, however, everyone they saw along the way looked ecstatic. People were gathered in small groups, talking loudly, with exclamations of shock and excitement erupting from time to time.

The air itself seemed to crackle with a feverish energy.

They all exchanged confused glances.

’What’s going on?’

"I’ll go ask!"

Unable to contain her curiosity, a Female Witch broke from the group and ran over to a few passersby to ask what was happening.

She returned a moment later, looking completely dazed, as if she had just heard something incredible.

"What is it?" the others asked eagerly.

The Female Witch took a deep breath and said in a tone of utter amazement, "Chenxi City won the Battle of the Holy Ring!"

The group immediately fell silent.

It took several seconds for her words to sink in, and then everyone’s eyes went wide.

"We... won the Battle of the Holy Ring?"

"For real?"

"How is that possible?"

"You didn’t mishear, did you?"

The group’s first reaction was disbelief.

It was no wonder they reacted this way. The news the Female Witch delivered was simply too incredible to believe.

They had heard that the Battle of the Holy Ring was taking place soon, but they hadn’t held out any hope for their city.

After all, Chenxi City had precious few Chosen. For many years, let alone winning the Battle of the Holy Ring, they often couldn’t even find a single Wizard qualified to participate.

The idea that any participant sent by their Wizard City was just a token gesture—this was practically the consensus among all Wizards from Chenxi City!

But now, hearing that their Wizard City had actually won the Battle of the Holy Ring... how could they not be skeptical?

"It’s true. I checked three times. It’s really true," the Female Witch insisted.

She had been stunned when she first heard it, too, but after asking several different people and getting the same answer every time, she was finally certain she hadn’t misheard.

"This news is all over Chenxi City. There’s no way it’s fake."

Hearing this, the group finally accepted the news as true, and identical expressions of utter shock appeared on all their faces.

"Wait a minute!" one of the Wizards suddenly exclaimed, his eyes bulging. "I remember now! The Wizard representing Chenxi City in the Battle of the Holy Ring... it was Pei Ze, wasn’t it!"

The group froze for a second. Then, as if they had rehearsed it, they all turned in perfect unison to look at Yin Xue.

But she was already frozen to the spot, a completely dazed expression on her face.

"Pei Ze... won the Battle of the Holy Ring," Yin Guang muttered, his eyes glazed over.

Even though he had always known Pei Ze was a monstrous genius, he was still completely and utterly thunderstruck.

This was the Battle of the Holy Ring, a gathering of the greatest Chosen!

Every single participant was a genius whose power far surpassed that of other Wizards at their same level!

Even he, stationed all the way out on the Turin Plane, had heard of the top contenders, people like Fei Xian, Wen Huachun, and Ye Sinan. Rumor had it that any one of them could single-handedly defeat dozens of Level 3 Crystalized Wizards!

’To compete against geniuses like that and still come out on top... How absurdly overpowered can you get?!’
