Alien Species Invasion? I Kill Them Back.
Chapter 14 - 12: Who Is Stronger Than Me?Chapter 14: Chapter 12: Who Is Stronger Than Me?
Feng Ling happily drove away in the small truck.
Su Yuqing, responsible for the cleanup, finally got to work.
He had to survey the scene and direct the Special Attack Team to sweep the entire villa complex. Once he confirmed there was no further danger, he would notify the cleanup crew to enter. The crew would then handle the remains of the bodies and disinfect the entire area.
Additionally, Su Yuqing had to take photos and samples at the scene and dictate an incident report, which would be compiled into a detailed written version for his superiors the next day.
Sometimes, he even had to make a PowerPoint presentation.
"Captain, the sweep is complete. No suspicious individuals found," a team member reported.
"Total of three Alien Species on site. One went offline, and two are confirmed dead. Cause of death for both was a severed neck," another team member added.
Su Yuqing swiped his finger across his phone screen, reviewing the photos he had taken of the Alien Species.
One was a humanoid bloodstain, burned by intense fire into a charred, solidified mass.
One had melted into the foul water of the swimming pool, leaving half a jelly-like limb collapsed by the water’s edge.
The last one was the most spectacular: a corpse as bloated as a small hill sprawled on the ground, acid gurgling from it. Not only was its head hacked to pieces, but its ankle had also been cleanly severed, the cut perfectly smooth.
A look of admiration appeared in Su Yuqing’s eyes.
"Alien Species are different from humans. Their lives aren’t endangered even if all their internal organs are riddled with bullets. However, aiming for the limbs and sensory organs during a firefight can still effectively inhibit their movement."
Su Yuqing showed the photos to the Special Attack Team members beside him.
"Take this Alien Species, for example. Its body can secrete a powerful acid. If we were to encounter one without any heavy-hitting weapons, concentrating fire on its lower limbs would be the optimal strategy."
The Special Attack Team was a unit of elite special police who didn’t possess Cards. They typically acted as a support unit, operating alongside the Inspectors.
But there were few Inspectors left in Qingjiang City. This meant that under Su Yuqing, the Special Attack Team often had to shoulder the burden of being the main offensive force, making it essential for them to understand the traits and weaknesses of every Alien Species.
The team members gathered around Su Yuqing, varying degrees of excitement showing on their faces.
Witnessing three slain Alien Species was, without a doubt, a huge boost to their morale.
Especially after the massacre at Times Square, seeing Alien Species die so horribly was incredibly satisfying!
"She’s so strong," a team member remarked with feeling.
"Taking on three Alien Species all by herself! That’s seriously incredible!"
"Could she be even stronger than Zhou?" someone whispered.
"I’d say she’s a bit stronger. After all, Zhou has had his Card for three months, and this is only her first day. She has so much potential..."
The roar of a motorcycle cut through the air, interrupting their discussion.
Everyone instinctively parted, clearing a path on the road.
A modified motorcycle zoomed into the villa complex. It screeched to a halt in front of Su Yuqing with a sharp turn, and a young man in a punk leather jacket swung a long leg off the bike—
"Who’s stronger than me?" Zhou Diao asked with a smile, standing before the crowd, an untamable violence gleaming in his eyes.
The team members instantly fell silent.
Su Yuqing smelled alcohol on his breath and immediately reprimanded him. "Drinking again? That’s drunk driving."
Zhou Diao just smirked, raising an eyebrow.
He had a youthful, boyish face, and a smile that revealed his canine teeth. But his temper was foul, his tone dripping with arrogance. "I’m the god of Qingjiang City! So what if I had a drink? Who the hell is going to stop me?!"
"You need a clear head to properly control your Card Ability. Alcohol only increases the risk of you losing control!" Su Yuqing said grimly.
"Soooo annoying," Zhou Diao said, looking completely unconcerned. He glanced around, sniffing the air. "God, it stinks. What is that smell... Are all the Alien Species dead?"
Su Yuqing was used to this. Zhou Diao’s Card gave him an incredibly keen sense of smell and hearing, so it wasn’t surprising he’d overheard their chatter from a distance.
"All dead. I’ve already notified the cleanup crew," Su Yuqing said, frowning. "Why are you here? Weren’t you supposed to be resting at home?"
"Shit, you said four Alien Species. You think I was just going to stay home?"
Zhou Diao complained, but his gaze fell on the tire tracks on the ground. He crouched, sniffed at them, and muttered, "They missed one?"
Su Yuqing was instantly on alert. "Can you find where it’s hiding?" he asked immediately.
Zhou Diao stood up and followed the tire tracks. After a few dozen paces, he stopped and tasted the air for a scent.
After a few seconds, he turned to Su Yuqing. "Pull up the traffic cameras. The Alien Species is in the truck."
Su Yuqing froze, saying in disbelief, "That’s impossible."
"Huh?" Zhou Diao looked at him as if he were an idiot. "Is there something wrong with your head? When has my nose ever been wrong?"
Su Yuqing’s expression soured. "Those tire tracks belong to Feng Ling. She just killed three Alien Species here, then left in a truck. My team and I arrived and secured the scene, but... we didn’t search the vehicle. Are you sure you’re not mistaken?"
Su Yuqing found it hard to accept. ’How could an Alien Species possibly be in Feng Ling’s truck?’
Zhou Diao rolled his eyes. "I smell Recovery Potion, the kind Alien Species love to use. Only they use that stuff. You think I’d get it wrong?"
Then, he started to gloat. "And here you all were, praising how amazing she is. Oh, she’s amazing all right—amazingly good at playing you all for fools. Harboring a fugitive Alien Species... Don’t tell me she’s an Alien Species herself!"
"That’s impossible," a stunned team member interjected. "She was ambushed by an Alien Species at the Inspection Bureau..."
"So what? Maybe it was just infighting among them!" Zhou Diao cut him off loudly.
"It’s unlikely that Feng Ling is an Alien Species," Su Yuqing said thoughtfully, analyzing the situation. "I spoke with her. Her speech and mannerisms are normal. The scent in the truck might be a lingering trace, or an Alien Species could have snuck in when her guard was down. If that’s the case, Feng Ling is in grave danger right now."
Zhou Diao scoffed. "We’ll find out if there’s a problem with her by going to see for ourselves, won’t we? Where is she now?"
Su Yuqing’s expression was grim. "I was worried she didn’t have anywhere to stay, so I gave her the keys to the apartment on Xiu Garden Road."
"Saves me the trouble of searching, then." Zhou Diao turned, swung his leg over his motorcycle, and a smirk touched his lips. "Perfect. I’ll go see for myself if she’s really stronger than me."
"Zhou Diao! Don’t do anything rash!" Su Yuqing’s voice shot up, his tone severe. "Whatever might be going on with Feng Ling, we need a thorough investigation before we can draw any conclusions!"
"What? Finally found a new Card user and now you’re treating her like some precious gem?" Zhou Diao sneered. "Qingjiang is my territory. As long as I’m alive, she’s jack shit!"
With that final threat, he didn’t spare Su Yuqing another glance before speeding away on his motorcycle.
The remaining team members looked at one another, at a loss.
"Captain Su, should we send someone to take a look?" a team member asked cautiously.
Su Yuqing watched the motorcycle’s rapidly receding silhouette and murmured, "Zhou Diao should know not to go too far..."
He, too, wanted to know what Zhou Diao would find out.
