Chapter 602: Chapter 602 - Fight for her like a man

"Sir, someone hacked into our server, laid hands on our exclusive customers’ portfolio, and told them to come and pick any luxury good they wanted—including our most expensive cars for free," his assistant explained breathlessly, his voice trembling with barely contained panic on the other end of the line.

Brad’s blood ran cold. "What? Are you mad? How is that even possible?" His voice cracked, rising an octave as the implications crashed over him like a tidal wave.

"Sir, that’s what I’ve been trying to tell you." The assistant’s words tumbled out in a rush. "I contacted our system engineers. We’ve been told our system was hacked into by a hacker named Nova Ghost. Did you offend anyone? I’ve heard of him going against some companies in New York a few months ago. He destroyed them. Completely."

Brad hadn’t offended anyone, none that he remembered of. At the just ended full moon festival, he’d ensured to remain on the fence, carefully neutral, never showing support to any Alpha or going against any of them. He’d played it safe, calculated every move. Except—

No. Liah wasn’t a hacker, and she couldn’t do this. That was impossible. But she was the only one who had threatened him.

Her words suddenly gained terrifying clarity in his mind, echoing with renewed significance. "I know you two sabotaged my show. I accept the clothes you returned, but you still have to pay for it. And for the mental stress, you must pay as well."

Athaliah was all fashion and design, not technology and cyber warfare. If someone could pay a notorious hacker to sabotage them, then it had to be Corvine.

That made the most sense—Corvine had the resources, the connections, the motivation. "I’m gonna have to call you back," he said and ended the call before his assistant could speak again, cutting off the stream of panicked words.

Turning to Curt, whose face still held a frustrated, bewildered expression, Brad explained through gritted teeth. "Someone hacked into my server. They’re giving out my luxury products for free. Every single client on my exclusive list is being told to come collect whatever they want."

His hands trembled with barely suppressed rage. "The hacker’s name is Nova Ghost."

Curt froze at the mention of the Hacker’s name. "He’s the same person who caused my slot machine to malfunction. Now every gambler who walked through my doors is a winner, and I’m about to go bankrupt." His voice rose with each word, his fury building like a storm.

"Do you think Corvine is behind it? Liah threatened us, but she knows nothing about such things. Corvine is the CEO of MindNest. He’s got the resources, the connections—"

"That’s exactly what I’m thinking." Brad confirmed, his jaw tight enough to crack teeth. The two of them were so furious, their knuckles turned white as they gripped their phones, the plastic creaking under the pressure.

"I’ll call him," Curt said, already raising his phone.

But Brad had already dialed the number, his thumb moving with desperate speed. The line connected, and as soon as Corvine answered, Brad’s composure shattered completely.

"Corvine, you moron. What did you do to our servers?" The words exploded out of him, raw and unfiltered.

In the presidential suite, Corvine sat on the plush sofa beside Voren, the warmth of the room a stark contrast to the venom pouring through his phone.

He had to pull the device away from his ear, afraid his eardrums might get damaged by the sheer volume of Brad’s yelling. A frown creased his brow as he retorted, "Excuse me?"

Brad was fuming from the other side of the line, pacing back and forth in the sterile hospital hallway like a caged animal. His footsteps echoed against the linoleum floor, sharp and agitated.

"Corvine, don’t deny it. You hacked into my servers and messaged my clients to send them my luxury products as freebies." His voice cracked with desperation. "Are you planning to bankrupt me because of Liah? Fight for her like a man and stop being fraudulent!"

At the mention of hacking into a server, Corvine could only think about Seraphine. The woman’s capabilities were legendary, her skills unparalleled.

But Voren’s confused look made Corvine press the speaker, allowing Voren to hear the exchange as Corvine responded with measured calm, "I wish I did. But talking about fraud, there is just one person fitting that description—and that is the one who tried to sabotage Liah’s show to force her to give in to him."

Brad went silent for a moment, his breathing heavy. "But the show went on. Better than ever, actually."

"That’s because of the software launch. Trust me, Liah would have called off the show if we hadn’t arrived." Corvine’s voice hardened, steel creeping into his tone. "So you deserve whatever you’re getting."

Corvine had never planned this means of revenge. He’d only planned to use his strength to deal with them at the pack, to settle the score with his fists and his wolf.

But Brad had more to say, more accusations to hurl. "Look Corvine, this isn’t funny. If not you, then who? Who else is Nova Ghost?" His voice grew frantic.

"Curt’s casino is in chaos because you hacked into his slot server and made every gambler in his casino a winner. Now he has to close his casino temporarily until this is resolved. Do you understand what that means? He’s losing millions!"

The smile spreading across Voren’s face told Corvine everything he needed to know. Voren knew something about this, his expression carrying a hint of satisfaction that couldn’t be faked. So Corvine spoke into the line with finality. "I’m the CEO of MindNest, yes. But I’m not Nova Ghost." His voice dropped, cold and dismissive. "And I have no idea why you’re being hunted by a cyber ghost."

He ended the call before Brad could respond, cutting off the other man’s sputtering protests. The silence in the suite was immediate and profound. Corvine turned to Voren, his eyes narrowing with dawning realization. "Did Sera do this?"
