Previously, in the Monster Prison, Violet had fought a Humanoid Bull.
This time, it was a dog. Normally, a dog shouldn’t be as formidable as a bull.
The problem was that this wasn’t just an ordinary dog with wings—it even wore a crown.
It was a luxurious golden crown adorned with countless diamonds of different colors.
Even if it was only decoration, its magnificence was enough to make anyone wearing it appear more regal than any king.
There was nothing on Earth that could compare to such a crown.
Its claws were unusually long.
It slashed at Violet before she could dodge, splitting her body cleanly in two.
Those claws could have sliced through steel without resistance.
Enzo frowned.
This monster was even more troublesome than the Three-Headed Python.
It had to be the guardian of the red circle marked on the map.
But why was it so enraged? Why had it chased Violet all the way here?
Could the dog Violet had just killed have been its offspring—or perhaps something it was deeply connected to?
More importantly, how was he supposed to kill this thing?
Violet was an assassin. Killing was her specialty.
Naturally, her speed played a crucial role.
Even against faster opponents, she could usually gain the upper hand by striking their vital points with perfect precision while concealing her presence—or disappearing entirely.
But if her opponent was twice as fast, things became much more difficult.
And this enemy wasn’t just twice as fast.
It was a dog, which meant its sense of smell was exceptionally sharp.
Fortunately, its wings were small. They seemed to exist only to boost its speed and allow short bursts of low-altitude flight.
Otherwise, it would have been an overwhelmingly powerful opponent.
"Run! That way!"
Enzo made his decision instantly.
Violet had to flee—but her destination would be the red circle on the map.
It was a gamble.
Running anywhere else would make little difference if the Humanoid Dog kept chasing her.
At least the red circle supposedly contained an S-Class External Power.
Of course, the worst-case scenario was still Violet’s death.
But even then, she would simply revive.
Maintaining her Slime Form, Violet immediately ran.
Although her body had been split apart, it fused back together almost instantly.
No matter how many times she was divided, her body would automatically reform.
The only requirement was having enough Stamina.
However, while in Slime Form, her movement speed was reduced by half.
Gok!
The Humanoid Dog barked furiously and gave chase.
"What a pain!" Enzo cursed.
Shua!
Once again, Violet’s body was cut apart.
Taking advantage of the distance created by the Humanoid Dog’s excessive speed, Violet returned to her normal form, allowing her slime body to merge back together much faster.
Whoosh!
She sprinted forward at full speed.
The dog caught up again, forcing Violet to transform into slime once more.
The cycle repeated again and again.
The Humanoid Dog grew increasingly enraged, while a smile slowly spread across Enzo’s face.
Awakeners possessed countless methods.
Among all of them, survival was the most important.
Now, Enzo was witnessing just how extraordinary this survival ability truly was.
He couldn’t help wondering which was superior—this ability, or the Three-Headed Python’s Fast Regeneration.
"There it is..."
Enzo’s eyes lit up.
Violet finally entered the red circle.
A massive river stretched before her.
Beyond it lay an ancient forest filled with towering trees and enormous hills.
Standing right on the riverbank was a temple built from weathered stone bricks.
Something was clearly inside.
A faint light seeped through the cracks in the temple walls.
"That has to be it..."
Excitement filled Enzo’s voice.
This was a treasure that had manifested in the world.
Naturally, anyone could claim it.
BANG!
Violet smashed the temple door open.
She had already returned to her normal form, as always.
The moment the doors swung open, the treasure inside was revealed.
An eye.
An actual eye.
It was pure white, with a gray iris at its center.
The mysterious glow came from that eye.
Without hesitation, Violet reached out and grabbed it.
DING!
(Your character has obtained an S-Class Artifact, Eye of Time. This eye can slow time for others from your perspective. Place it in front of your eye, and it will automatically fuse with you!)
"...Incredible."
Even Enzo couldn’t hold back his admiration.
Violet immediately placed the eye over her left eye.
It dissolved into a stream of light before merging into it.
At that very moment, her left eye transformed.
[External Power:]
Armor (B)
Slime Heart (A+)
Eye of Time (S)
DING!
(Warning: Using Eye of Time consumes Mana and Stamina. Before reaching Level 31 or above, excessive use will have harmful effects on your body!)
A second notification appeared.
Enzo wasn’t surprised.
S-Class External Powers—whether weapons, armor, or anything else—were never designed for low-level users.
Using them at such a low level naturally came with risks.
Still, that wasn’t important right now.
Violet fixed her gaze on the Humanoid Dog.
She closed her right eye.
Her left eye, now bearing the gray iris, began to glow.
The incredibly fast Humanoid Dog suddenly appeared to slow down from her perspective.
Even on Enzo’s screen, its movements visibly decelerated.
The more Mana and Stamina Violet poured into the Eye of Time, the slower the dog became.
Its speed eventually dropped until it was only half as fast as Violet.
It probably didn’t even realize what was happening.
From its own perspective, everything still seemed perfectly normal.
Shua!
Violet flashed forward, her dagger slicing across the Humanoid Dog’s neck.
There wasn’t a second to waste.
One minute?
No...
Enzo immediately realized the effect could last for less than ten seconds.
Fortunately, that was more than enough for Violet.
The Humanoid Dog possessed no extraordinary defensive abilities.
Its neck couldn’t withstand a dagger moving at such terrifying speed.
DING!
