"But only three tongues?"

Violet sneered.

Her body twisted gracefully through the air, causing the tongues pursuing her to collide with one another as their erratic trajectories intersected.

In an instant, she arrived in front of the slime’s mouth, just as it fired another tongue.

However, Violet’s hand moved even faster.

She slashed across the side of the slime’s mouth.

Although her dagger was coated in water, the water itself followed the blade’s sharp edge.

As an A+ Class weapon, it possessed such a property.

Its sharpness remained completely unaffected.

Shua!

The blade tore through the slime’s outer skin, which was noticeably more solid than the rest of its gelatinous body.

However, the flesh around its mouth contained the same corrosive mucus as its tongue.

It immediately began trying to evaporate the water coating Violet’s dagger.

Fortunately, water seemed to possess a natural advantage against it.

The mucus struggled to evaporate it.

"Mm!"

Enzo’s eyes lit up.

Behind the torn flesh, he saw a beating heart.

Unfortunately, Violet’s dagger failed to reach it.

It didn’t matter.

Without hesitation, she shot out several Mana Threads, wrapping them tightly around the heart.

The slime’s large eyes widened in alarm.

Without showing the slightest mercy, Violet yanked the heart with all her strength, instantly tearing apart every blood vessel connecting it to the slime’s body.

Buzz!

The entire slime suddenly melted into liquid.

Violet immediately leaped backward after seeing the liquefied slime mix with its corrosive mucus, causing the ground beneath it to evaporate.

"What happened?"

Enzo frowned in confusion.

The slime had clearly died.

Yet no notification appeared.

His brows furrowed as he stared at the slime’s heart.

It was still beating.

Then he realized something.

The heart itself was incredibly tough.

Even Violet’s Mana Threads couldn’t crush it.

’If the heart is still beating... does the System still consider it alive?’

Since no notification had appeared, that seemed to be the case.

DING!

(Your character, Violet Muller, has obtained the Slime Heart, an A+ Class External Power. By fusing with this heart, you can obtain a slime-like body—a fluid body that cannot be attacked, but is also unable to attack!)

(Place this heart against your chest, and it will automatically fuse with your own heart!)

A different notification appeared.

Enzo couldn’t help wearing a strange expression after reading it.

A slime body...

Untouchable, yet unable to attack.

’Isn’t this similar to Camila’s ghost form?’

Of course, Camila’s ability was superior since she could become completely invisible.

However, when combined with Violet’s Invisible Mode, Violet would become almost identical to Camila.

Even so, it still had shortcomings.

Passing through walls would be impossible because slime was still a physical substance.

Its movements could also still be detected.

Ultimately, the reason slime couldn’t be attacked was simply because of its fluid nature.

Naturally, no ability was perfect.

’But what about fire or lightning attacks?’

Enzo wasn’t optimistic that a slime body could withstand those.

Perhaps that was why it was only classified as an A+ Class External Power.

An S-Class External Power was undoubtedly far more extraordinary.

’Let Violet use it.’

Enzo decided without hesitation.

It would make Violet stronger.

He had no need for such an ability himself.

Besides, External Powers could be transferred to someone else in the future.

Buzz!

The heart passed through Violet’s clothes and sank into her chest.

DING!

(Your character, Violet Muller, has fused with the A+ Class External Power, Slime Heart!)

[External Powers:]

Armor (B)

Slime Heart (A+)

The moment the fusion was complete, Enzo didn’t merely sense something unfamiliar within Violet’s body.

He could actually feel another life residing inside her.

It was unmistakably the slime’s life force.

However, it was incredibly weak, existing only as a heart.

’Too bad we didn’t level up,’ Enzo thought.

He had expected much more from such a rare and powerful-looking monster.

Violet continued moving forward.

Not far ahead flowed another narrow canal.

Following it was still relatively safe.

Crossing it, however, would lead directly into the dangerous zone marked on the map.

Their destination was already very close.

Even so, Enzo wanted to level up first.

Not far ahead, another monster came into view.

This one was easy to identify—a tall but rather skinny dog.

Level 18.

It looked like a starving stray dog.

Of course, this was simply a gigantic version of one.

Although Violet was still quite far away, the monster immediately detected her.

It had obviously picked up her unfamiliar scent.

Enzo neither hated nor particularly liked dogs.

He felt completely neutral toward them.

Naturally, he had no reservations about killing one.

Since it had detected Violet by smell, she immediately dashed toward it.

"Woof! Woof!"

The dog barked furiously.

Its behavior was remarkably similar to that of an ordinary dog.

Despite acting fierce, when it saw Violet charging straight at it, it instinctively became cautious instead of attacking.

Perhaps it had expected Violet to run away first so it could chase after her while barking aggressively.

Seeing how cowardly it actually was, Enzo immediately lowered his expectations.

Shua!

With a single slash, Violet severed its neck.

DING!

(Your character has killed a Level 18 Monster. You and your character have gained 15,000 EXP!)

[EXP: 465,500/500,000]

Seeing the notification, Enzo didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

The reward was truly pitiful.

However...

A moment later, his expression suddenly turned serious.

He felt it.

An overwhelming surge of rage.

Intense killing intent.

It was directed squarely at Violet.

’What’s going on?’

’Where is it coming from?’

There shouldn’t have been any other monsters close enough to Violet.

The sheer intensity of that killing intent meant it belonged to an extremely powerful creature.

At the very least, it was overwhelmingly powerful compared to Violet.

Whoosh!

At last, Enzo noticed movement on the screen.

It seemed to be approaching from the red danger zone marked on the map.

Fast.

Far too fast.

Its speed was nearly twice Violet’s maximum speed.

The frightening part was that it wasn’t a gigantic monster.

No living creature could actually be seen.

Only the violent shockwaves left in its wake as it tore through the forest, violently shaking every tree it passed.

"Danger!"

Enzo immediately realized the threat.

He pressed a key.

In the next instant, Violet’s entire body—including all of her clothing—transformed into blue slime.

Her figure was no longer completely human.

As fluid slime, even a gust of wind could distort her shape.

She quickly retreated toward a more open area.

Only then did the approaching creature finally reveal itself.

It was a small, winged humanoid dog with a crown resting upon its head.

DING!

(Level 20 Monster!)

The notification immediately appeared before Enzo.
