"You can think whatever you want," Charlotte replied. "Whether you save it or not is entirely up to you."

"Alright..."

Enzo still entered his phone number.

He was actually looking forward to seeing what this woman would say if she ever contacted him.

After that, he left.

As soon as he walked out of the mall, he lit another cigarette.

At this hour of the night, there were still plenty of offline taxis waiting for passengers.

The drivers had their own designated waiting area.

Enzo picked one that still looked relatively new.

The driver who stepped out was a massive bald man with bulging muscles and tattoos covering his arms.

"Kid, where are you headed?" the man asked while lighting a cigarette.

"To the portal," Enzo replied, exhaling a puff of smoke as he opened the rear door and got in.

Back then, men like this used to intimidate him.

Now, not in the slightest.

After hearing the destination, the burly driver noticeably became more courteous.

He immediately extinguished the cigarette he had just lit before getting into the driver’s seat.

Inside the taxi, Enzo received a message from an unfamiliar number.

The message contained nothing but a Joker emoji.

The account had neither a profile picture nor a display name—

Only two quotation marks.

He guessed it belonged to Charlotte.

Since there wasn’t a single word in the message, he didn’t reply.

He simply saved the contact under its original name—

Two quotation marks.

Throughout the ride, Enzo casually smoked while lounging comfortably in the back seat.

Meanwhile, the intimidating-looking driver focused on driving with complete seriousness.

With the roads nearly empty, they reached the portal in no time.

"How much?" Enzo asked as he aimed his phone at the QR code on the dashboard.

"Just thirty dollars," the driver answered with a smile.

After paying, Enzo stepped out.

His expression stiffened.

Paul had just emerged from the portal.

The middle-aged man’s eyes immediately locked onto him.

"Muller, where have you been?"

"Why are you only coming back now?"

"You abandoned your duties."

"Do you even want to keep this job or not?"

he demanded in a stern voice.

The taxi driver was stunned.

So this kid was just a Sanctuary worker...

Why had he been nervous around him?

Even Enzo felt awkward.

"I’m sorry."

"I ran into some unexpected trouble."

"I’ll get back to work immediately."

In the end, he chose to swallow his pride.

But only this once.

If Paul scolded him again, he’d simply resign.

Without waiting for a response, he stepped through the portal.

It was already well past midnight.

The entire Sanctuary was far quieter than usual.

Since he had never been enthusiastic about this job to begin with, Enzo walked at an unhurried pace.

"That damn bitch! Where is she?!"

A furious roar suddenly came from a nearby bar.

Enzo instantly recognized the voice.

It was Augus.

Sure enough, Augus soon stormed out while holding a phone that was playing Violet’s latest video.

"Augus, we don’t even know which castle that woman lives in," one of his companions said awkwardly.

"Damn it! Ask the Association people!"

Augus became even angrier.

"This is bad..."

Enzo muttered.

He immediately sprinted toward the Monster Prison.

The place was completely deserted.

He was slightly surprised to see that there were fewer Goblin corpses than he had expected.

However, he had no time to think about it.

He entered his guard post and immediately took control of Violet.

A confrontation with Augus had become inevitable.

The death of the Three-Headed Python had only accelerated things.

For now, however, Violet couldn’t confront Augus directly.

Enzo wanted to get some sleep tonight.

That meant he had to hide Violet first.

Without delay, Violet left her residence.

Under Enzo’s control, she headed toward the Monster Prison.

Avoiding Augus’s group was effortless.

Enzo could monitor all of their movements from above.

Remaining in Invisible Mode, Violet took a detour before entering the prison and arriving outside Enzo’s guard post.

Enzo opened the door.

With a single press of a key, Violet transformed into a stream of light and merged back into his body.

A faint smile appeared on his lips.

Augus could search the entire night and still never find her.

Enzo sat back down on his bed.

Fortunately, he wasn’t sleepy yet.

Still, he knew he could easily fall asleep.

Unfortunately, there was one thing he had to do first.

Before getting back to work, he wanted to acquire two new skills.

He placed both Skill Books in front of him and stared at his finger.

A black dagger appeared in his hand.

Now that Violet had returned to him, he could freely access all of her items.

"I can’t hesitate now."

He steeled his resolve.

Slowly, he pressed the tip of the dagger against his fingertip.

It was only the lightest touch, yet a sharp sting immediately spread through his finger.

The dagger was simply too sharp.

The pain itself merely made him frown.

Often, it wasn’t pain people feared—

It was the act of causing it.

He smeared his blood across both Skill Books.

They instantly dissolved into streams of light that flowed into his head.

DING!

(You have acquired two B-Class Skills: Etheric Muscle and Roar of Beast!)

[Skills:]

Attribute Resonance (S)

Game Master (S)

Etheric Muscle (B)

Roar of Beast (B)

Enzo immediately sensed a noticeable change.

Both were combat-oriented skills.

Now that he possessed them, he could clearly feel himself becoming stronger.

"Time to get back to work!"

He quickly got moving, unwilling to waste any more time.

The rest of the night passed peacefully inside the Monster Prison.

When he finally fell asleep, he slept soundly.

He didn’t wake until around nine o’clock the following morning.

The Monster Prison was already bustling with activity when he opened his eyes.

Still lying on the bed, he stared at the ceiling for a while, allowing his groggy mind to fully awaken.

Once he felt clear-headed enough, he picked up his phone.
