An Awakener with the Gamer Class

Violet and Charlotte returned to the tunnel.

The Steel Ants weren’t dead yet, and it seemed that ants from the other tunnels had come to block their path.

People were running out, chased by the Steel Ants, but they still had to break through the other ants blocking their way, making their escape from the tunnel far from easy.

They could still see the two women coming out through the gate’s mouth.

Of course, they had already realized that they were nothing more than followers of Charlotte.

The latter had deliberately allowed them to follow her so they wouldn’t explore the other tunnels.

In the end, it was because they were foolish.

After all, if they followed an S-Class Awakener to compete for treasure, was there really any chance that they would be the ones to obtain it?

It was nothing more than a ridiculous dream.

"How did you know this tunnel was hiding the best treasure?" Violet asked Charlotte.

"First, it’s not certain that there is a Steel Ant Source here. Not every Steel Ant Queen possesses a Steel Ant Source that can be extracted. The probability is one in ten," Charlotte replied. "If it doesn’t produce a Steel Ant Source, then it’s simply a large source of EXP that’s easy to defeat with an S-Class Talent. As for how I found it, I can only say that it’s knowledge I’ve accumulated myself. After all, I have access to a great deal of information, and I’ve studied quite a few things."

"Oh? Then does that mean you know where the A-Class Talents are located?" Violet asked again.

"The Talents hidden inside Ant Mountain are always random. They can’t be predicted." Charlotte answered immediately.

"If you choose to follow me again, I don’t mind. But don’t complain if I end up getting nothing," she added, noticing the distrustful expression on Violet’s face.

Even after hearing that, Violet still seemed unconvinced.

But she stepped forward first and activated Invisible Mode.

She passed through without being attacked because none of the ants could see her.

"Damn that woman." Someone cursed in jealousy.

Running at full speed, it didn’t take long for Violet to return to the starting point.

The situation was still the same. Ants were pouring out of the other tunnels. Without noticing Violet, they simply headed toward the tunnels where the others had entered.

From inside, she could still see the outside clearly, and Enzo couldn’t help but frown.

Augus.

The man in golden armor with two swords on his back had arrived with a group of around ten people.

Enzo sighed, even though he had expected this.

"You go. Take this with you." Augus suddenly pushed one of his companions forward, a man with messy hair, and handed him an orange candle that was only about the length of a finger.

"This will lead you to the best A-Class Talent that hasn’t been claimed yet, even if it has already been stored inside a Storage Artifact. Get it no matter what. If you fail, we’ll beat you until you’re crippled."

"I’ll definitely succeed. Those people aren’t my opponents." The man replied confidently.

He was Level 20, and yesterday, he had luckily obtained two additional B-Class Talents, drastically strengthening him.

Although there were three people with S-Class Talents here, as far as he knew, they were all still below Level 15.

Because of that, he wasn’t afraid.

"Hmph!" Augus responded with a cold snort.

The man became awkward and could only step forward.

Enzo narrowed his eyes, wondering what kind of candle it was.

The man quickly arrived inside Ant Mountain.

Then, he took out a lighter.

He lit the candle, which released thick orange smoke with a strange aroma.

The smoke danced like a snake before eventually drifting toward one of the tunnels.

Violet’s eyes lit up when she saw it.

It seemed to be the famous Tracking Candle.

Items like this were said to only be obtainable as System rewards if one was lucky.

Of course, it had to be used near treasure.

If it was too far away, it wouldn’t be able to find anything.

There were supposedly several A-Class Talents hidden inside Ant Mountain.

Whichever one the candle chose must be the best.

Violet secretly followed the man.

The tunnel he chose actually sloped upward.

The larvae inside immediately transformed into ferocious ants when the man entered.

Yet somehow, the smoke from the candle made them afraid to approach.

The man smiled in satisfaction.

After a while, three different tunnels suddenly appeared, all of them leading upward.

The candle’s smoke drifted toward the tunnel on the far right, so the man immediately headed there.

"Strange. I heard there were more than fifty people here. Why haven’t I seen a single one? It looks like no one has entered this place yet."

He spoke to himself in confusion.

In total, there were only around thirty tunnels from the beginning.

The numerous entrances indicated that each tunnel branched into several others, except for the Steel Ant Queen’s tunnel.

Because of that, it was indeed strange for one tunnel to remain unexplored.

Of course, he would never have guessed that everyone else had entered the same tunnel and were now struggling to get back out.

That included Charlotte and Bryan.

His pace quickened, as though he couldn’t wait any longer.

At this moment, Violet saw light ahead.

It was quite dazzling, like sunlight shining through cracks.

"It must be there." The man was overjoyed.

He began running, and Violet ran after him.

The end of the tunnel opened into a circular chamber with several other tunnels, indicating that there wasn’t only one path leading there.

Above them was a massive rock wedged into place, with light entering through cracks along its sides that appeared to have formed only recently.

Interestingly, a large book was lying on a stone table directly beneath the rock.

This was clearly the highest point of Ant Mountain.

The book had a pitch-black cover with the faint silhouette of a human holding a knife.

The title could still be seen despite the black cover.

Enzo frowned when he read it.

An Assassin Talent?

Of course, this wasn’t something Violet needed.

It was merely a weaker version of her own Talent.

Its abilities were probably similar, but with inferior quality.

Naturally, for most people, an A-Class Talent was already almost perfect.

At least it can be sold, Enzo thought.

Violet moved like lightning and grabbed the book, which immediately disappeared as she stored it while remaining in Invisible Mode.

"Eh?" The messy-haired man stared in shock.

He rubbed his eyes because he genuinely couldn’t sense Violet’s presence.

There was nothing on the stone table.

He even began to suspect that there had never been anything there and that he had simply seen it incorrectly.

"Impossible."

He couldn’t believe his eyes had deceived him when he was a Level 20 Awakener.

His hands swept forcefully across the stone table, even checking underneath and around the sides.

"Impossible. Impossible..." he muttered repeatedly as his face gradually paled.

He even dropped the orange candle, which was still burning despite being almost completely consumed.

The smoke didn’t drift anywhere, which meant the book was still nearby.

Augus had paid him to complete this task, and he was supposed to bring back the Talent Book.

If he failed, he knew he would be beaten badly.

"Who? Who’s there?" He began shouting, certain that someone had done something.

"It’s me. Just tell Augus."

Violet appeared and spoke.

In the end, she’s the only one who can disappear. That’s why there’s no point in hiding it. Others will know she’s the one who did it.

"You?"

The man stared in shock as a beautiful tomboyish woman suddenly appeared right in front of him.

But only a moment later, the woman disappeared again.

What was even more shocking was that she stepped on the orange candle, extinguishing it and crushing it flat.

Whoosh!

The man lunged forward, but because he moved too quickly, he ended up slamming into the wall.

"Damn you, bitch! Where are you?"

He shouted again.

But Violet was already gone.

Only then did the man realize that his candle had been destroyed.

If it were still intact, he could at least have used it to track Violet.

His face flushed red when he realized his own mistake.

Enzo didn’t care about him at all.

It wasn’t that he didn’t have a selfish side.

After all, he had spent an entire year enduring humiliation.

His mood wasn’t exactly good.

He felt as though he hadn’t gained anything because the two things he had obtained couldn’t immediately strengthen Violet.

Violet returned to the starting point and found that the others had already emerged from the tunnel.

This time, they immediately split up and entered different tunnels.

Charlotte and Bryan had probably come out earlier, as they were nowhere to be seen among the others.

Enzo no longer knew which tunnel he should send Violet into.

If he simply chose one at random, he was pessimistic about the outcome.

"Eh, what?"

He was startled, even more than usual this time.

How could he not be? He saw someone approaching—a man whose body was partially covered in red scales.
