A short-haired woman with white hair, wearing a shirt and skirt—Charlotte.
Enzo couldn’t have been more surprised. How had she come here?
"Who is she?" Bella asked, her brows furrowing.
She looked uncomfortable, but forced herself to remain calm.
"Charlotte O’Conner. I met her yesterday, and she invited me to talk because she said she knew my father well. I don’t know why she’s here," Enzo replied.
"Ohh, that woman." Bella seemed to have heard the name before.
She then gave Enzo a strange look.
"Looks like you know how to charm strange women," she said sarcastically.
Enzo rolled his eyes.
"Impossible. How could I possibly charm a woman like her? She’s way out of my league."
"Hmph, then why is she here?"
"Didn’t I just say I don’t know either? How about you get dressed first so I can open the door?" Enzo replied.
"Why are you afraid to admit it? Are you worried I’ll get jealous? If you manage to date this woman, I’ll even celebrate with you."
Enzo, "..."
Bella quickly went into the bathroom and needed only a few seconds before coming back out, wearing long jeans and a tight-looking white T-shirt that clung to her figure.
She tied her blond hair into a ponytail.
Enzo had hoped Bella would simply hide in the bathroom, but he knew she would refuse.
So he opened the door, finding Charlotte standing right outside.
Almost everyone nearby looked over, curious about why she had come to the outpost.
Charlotte was slightly surprised when she saw not only Enzo but also an especially striking blonde woman.
As a woman herself, simply looking at Bella’s figure made Charlotte think that she was actually too thin.
"Charlotte, why are you here?" Enzo asked.
No matter how he thought about it, there seemed to be no reason for her to visit him.
Besides, they had each other’s phone numbers, so contacting him would have been easy.
"There’s something I need your help with, so I’d like to invite you to dinner to discuss it. In the end, I needed to come pick you up, so I didn’t just send you a message." Charlotte answered calmly.
"You need my help?" Enzo was even more surprised.
"Enzo, what are you waiting for? The honorable Miss O’Conner wants your help, so hurry up and help her. Don’t disappoint her..." Bella suddenly chimed in.
Enzo rolled his eyes at her words.
Charlotte, on the other hand, furrowed her brows. Being called honorable made her feel like Bella was mocking her.
"Uh... Charlotte, let me introduce you. She’s my cousin, Bella Muller," Enzo said.
Charlotte nodded and looked at Bella.
"I’m Charlotte. Nice to meet you," she said gracefully.
Bella seemed to have some difficulty responding.
"Wait outside. I’ll come see you. Besides, I need to finish my work and then take a shower," Enzo said.
"You can shower now. Leave your work. Someone else will take care of it." Charlotte replied before walking away.
Enzo gave Bella a wry smile.
They had only just been hugging and kissing, and then Charlotte had come along and interrupted them.
What could he possibly say now?
"What are you waiting for? Go shower and follow that woman. You need to make her your girlfriend so the Muller family’s bloodline can have a true noble lineage," Bella said casually, pushing Enzo toward the bathroom while she herself headed toward the closing door.
Enzo hadn’t expected her to actually say something like that.
Everything was becoming more and more confusing.
He shook his head before entering the bathroom, which clearly had only just been used.
Then he took a shower.
Even though his body wasn’t dirty, he showered until he smelled fresh.
This time, while showering, he couldn’t help but carefully examine his face in the mirror.
His father was known as an exceptionally handsome man. His mother had been extremely beautiful as well, though unfortunately, she had died very young.
And his face looked remarkably similar to his father’s, while also carrying some of his mother’s charm.
Even though he was somewhat thin, he realized that plenty of women would glance at a face like this.
If he weren’t handsome, how could Bella have been so eager to kiss him? Besides, the woman had extremely high standards.
But could a handsome face alone attract someone like Charlotte?
Enzo wouldn’t deny it. Charlotte really was the woman of his dreams, but to him, it was more like a fantasy.
If he had any desire at all, it was simply the male ego—the desire to prove himself superior to other men through the woman he won.
It was like the old saying: become a king by marrying the princess.
"What a stupid thought..." He shook his head at himself before drying off.
He got dressed, choosing a casual shirt, long jeans, and comfortable white shoes suitable for walking.
Everything he chose was understated, with ordinary brands, far from anything flashy or luxurious.
He left the outpost with a thoughtful expression.
Bella hadn’t gone anywhere yet. She was with two of her friends, Layla and Mila.
When she saw Enzo, she furrowed her brows.
"Enzo, what are you wearing?" she asked.
"What’s wrong with it?" Enzo asked, confused.
"You’re going to accompany a noblewoman. There’s nothing wrong with choosing simple clothes, but at least don’t wear some low-end brand like that. Don’t let people mistake you for nothing more than an errand boy."
Enzo, "..."
"Go change your clothes!" Bella suddenly pulled him toward the outpost door.
"Open the door," she ordered.
The door opened, since Enzo just wanted to get inside after drawing so many curious looks when Bella dragged him over.
"Bella, I just want to wear this. It’s comfortable," Enzo protested.
"Ridiculous. You’ll embarrass the Muller family if you wear that. I remember bringing some nice shirts here. Wear one of those," the woman insisted.
"Bella, do you want me to get close to Charlotte?" Enzo asked.
He felt awkward even asking the question.
"Do I look like I’m joking?" Bella replied.
"What about us?" Enzo’s voice became quieter.
"What do you mean, us? You aren’t thinking about making me your wife, are you?"
Enzo couldn’t respond when she asked that.
"Hey, Enzo." The woman’s face suddenly moved closer.
"What?" Enzo asked.
"Do you want it?" she asked with a wide smile.
"Want what?"
"Don’t pretend to be innocent. What else? Do you want to have sex?"
Enzo didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Bella was blunt, but how could she actually say something like that?
"Now let’s think about where we’ll do it. Obviously, not here," the woman continued.
"What? Why are you quiet? Don’t tell me you don’t want to. I’ll cut off your third leg if you say that."
Enzo’s silence, simply because he didn’t know how to respond, seemed to irritate Bella.
"Uh..." Enzo pretended to cough.
"Can we not talk about things like this?" he asked.
"Why not? There’s nothing to be embarrassed about when discussing something like this. Fine, I guess I’ll have to find the place myself. I’ll tell you later. Now, hurry up and change your clothes. Don’t make that woman wait."
After saying that, Bella pushed Enzo toward the bathroom once again.
She seemed determined to make sure he wore something presentable.
Enzo reluctantly changed clothes, choosing a gray shirt that still looked understated but somehow gave him a distinctive air.
"How about this?" Enzo asked after coming out of the bathroom.
Bella immediately examined him with one hand under her chin before nodding.
"Now that’s acceptable. Come on," she said, pulling him toward the door again.
But Enzo didn’t open it immediately.
He looked at her.
After taking one deep breath, he suddenly pulled her into his arms and kissed her.
The woman froze in surprise.
But she quickly smiled and returned his embrace and kiss.
It lasted only briefly, however, as Bella forcefully stopped.
"Don’t let yourself get carried away," she warned.
"Hehehe..." Enzo chuckled softly. "By the way, Bella, thank you. You’re the best cousin."
"Hmph. Are you only realizing that now?" The woman pouted slightly.
Enzo scratched his head as he opened the door.
"Hurry up and go!" Bella pushed him again.
Enzo could only walk away, heading toward the Monster Prison building’s entrance.
Other people looked at him in confusion, and some furrowed their brows, but Enzo continued walking.
As soon as he left the Monster Prison, he saw Charlotte waiting while typing on her phone.
But she wasn’t alone.
Enzo also saw Waylon.
"Miss O’Conner, you’re here." He immediately greeted Charlotte with a polite smile, doing his best to behave as respectfully as possible.
"You?" Charlotte looked confused.
"I’m Waylon Brown from the Brown Family of New York. Augus Brown is my older brother. I saw you once at your grandfather’s birthday celebration." Waylon explained who he was.
"Are you waiting for someone?" he asked.
"Yes. That person is already here." Charlotte answered briefly before walking toward Enzo.
"Let’s go."
She didn’t bother with any further pleasantries and immediately led him away.
