Violet stepped out of the car without saying a word, which made Luca breathe a sigh of relief. The last time, she had knocked him unconscious without warning.

The jewelry store dared to remain open at this hour for good reason. Quite a few security guards were stationed around the premises, seemingly concealing weapons. Some of them were probably Level 10 to Level 15 Awakeners.

A store capable of hiring Awakeners as security guards was obviously making a tremendous amount of money.

Even though Violet had arrived in what was essentially an inexpensive used car belonging to Luca, a female sales assistant immediately approached her when she entered.

Just from her appearance and demeanor, it was obvious that Violet was no ordinary person.

"Miss, is there anything I can help you with?" the sales assistant asked respectfully.

"Do you buy illegal goods?" Violet asked directly, though in a quiet voice.

The store was called Heaven Jewel, a jewelry chain with several branches throughout New York.

That wasn’t the point, though.

The store had previously been involved in cases concerning the purchase of illegal goods, including stolen property.

Yet those cases had ended without any consequences, and the business had continued operating as usual.

That was precisely why Violet had asked.

Even if jewelry had originally been stolen, once the gold or silver was melted down and turned into new jewelry, who would know where it had come from?

As long as no one knew its origin, there was nothing to worry about.

The sales assistant nearly stumbled when she heard Violet’s question.

"Miss, what do you mean? Our store is a legitimate business," she immediately replied, though she lowered her voice as well.

Violet remained indifferent and calmly added, "Nearly ten kilograms of gold and more than five kilograms of silver. I don’t need money. I want to exchange all of it for a Storage Artifact."

The sales assistant froze, her lips slightly parted.

However, she quickly regained her composure. She seemed to be a highly trained employee when it came to dealing with customers.

"Miss, would you like to meet my manager?" she asked, her voice becoming even quieter.

"Lead the way."

Violet gestured for her to go ahead.

The sales assistant led her toward the staircase to the second floor.

The store itself only had two floors.

It was simply enormous, with countless glass display counters filled with various gold jewelry.

Of course, not everyone who came here was looking to buy jewelry.

Many customers also came to sell their valuables, and there were special counters dedicated to such transactions.

However, large transactions were handled differently.

Especially when nearly ten kilograms of gold and more than five kilograms of silver were involved.

That required the manager’s personal attention.

After reaching the second floor, the sales assistant walked to a door and knocked.

"Manager, I’ve brought a special guest."

"Come in!"

A man’s voice came from inside.

The sales assistant opened the door, revealing a relatively small office overlooking the street.

A middle-aged man with a thick mustache sat behind his desk, smoking a cigar while examining several diamonds arranged in front of him.

His eyes immediately landed on Violet, and he was surprised to discover that the special guest was such a young woman.

Violet simply walked inside.

"Nearly ten kilograms of gold, more than five kilograms of silver, illegal goods. I want to exchange them for a Storage Artifact."

Violet repeated her offer.

The middle-aged man straightened his back and waved to the sales assistant, signaling her to leave and close the door.

Before he could even invite Violet to sit down, she had already taken the seat across from him.

"Miss, are those smuggled goods or stolen goods? If they’re stolen, we wouldn’t dare purchase them," the manager replied.

He pretended that nothing was unusual about Violet’s attitude.

Judging from her appearance and demeanor, he could understand it.

This young woman simply didn’t care about etiquette or small talk.

"I took them from inside a cemetery. No one knows about them unless someone digs up the graves," Violet replied.

"You should understand that with certain abilities, an Awakener can do something like that."

The manager swallowed nervously after hearing this.

He was even more shocked by how openly Violet had admitted it.

This was their first meeting, yet she had already been so straightforward.

Wasn’t she afraid of being deceived?

The manager realized that this young woman must be extremely confident in her own strength.

"Miss, may I know your name?" the manager asked.

Recently, he had heard from a friend about a terrifying female Novice Awakener in Sanctuary 1.

She had beaten Waylon Brown.

She had even caused enormous losses to Augus Brown, yet the latter had been unable to retaliate.

The manager had never asked about the Awakener’s appearance, but he knew her name.

However, the moment he asked the question, his heartbeat suddenly accelerated.

It became so intense that cold sweat poured from his body in an instant.

The hairs on his arms and legs stood on end.

Even opening his mouth to speak became difficult.

At that moment, black lines appeared across Violet’s body, radiating an overwhelming killing intent.

Combined with the attributes transferred to her by Enzo, Violet was essentially several levels stronger than she appeared.

Any Awakener below Level 20 would be intimidated by her, let alone an ordinary human.

The manager eventually realized that he could no longer speak.

Under his terrified gaze, Violet waved her hand.

A pile of gold and silver jewelry appeared on the floor.

Everything was made of gold and silver. There were no diamonds.

Of course, she had obtained diamonds as well, but she intended to keep those for herself.

Only after taking the jewelry out of her ring did Violet retract her aura.

"I heard there’s a Storage Artifact worth one million dollars with a storage space equivalent to five soccer fields. Does your store have one? I want that in exchange."

"Yes, we do. We can go downstairs and take a look. We have five different ones," the manager immediately replied, not even bothering to steady his breathing first.

He stood up at once, walked around his desk, and looked ready to head for the door.

"Don’t you want to count the gold and silver first?" Violet asked.

"There’s no need..."

The manager’s years of experience in the jewelry business allowed him to recognize the authenticity of the gold and silver at a glance.

He could even estimate their total weight.

He opened the door and gestured for Violet to follow him.

Violet stepped outside.

The manager locked his office first before hurriedly leading her toward the stairs.

The sales assistant had only just returned and was still standing there waiting to attend to another customer when she saw the manager coming back with Violet.

She could only stare in surprise.

The manager completely ignored her.

He headed toward a glass display cabinet covered with genuine gold.

Inside were five separate compartments, each containing a single piece of jewelry.

Two rings, two bracelets, and one earring.

All of them were made of gold and designed beautifully.

"That earring."

Violet immediately stated her choice before the manager could even invite her to pick one.

"Yes!"

The manager nodded as though he had just received an order.

He took out a key and unlocked the cabinet. Clearly, only he was authorized to open it.

Whoosh!

Violet’s hand moved like lightning.

She grabbed the earring and immediately turned around to leave.

After securing the earring, she stored it inside her ring rather than wearing it.

The manager could only stare at her departure in bewilderment, secretly grateful that she hadn’t taken everything.

Although they had a security system designed to deal with robbers, an actual robbery would still be an enormous hassle.
