They were massive. They were easily eight feet tall. They did not wear tactical armor. They wore long, dark robes. Their skin was completely black. The glowing green veins on their bodies were so bright they actually illuminated the dark room. Their eyes burned with a toxic, intelligent red light.
They radiated a combined dark mana aura that was absolutely terrifying. A normal human would instantly collapse from the sheer pressure in the room. A normal knight would suffocate just standing near them.
The commanders were talking. Their voices sounded deep, wet, and totally distorted.
"The intruders have breached the upper levels," the first commander hissed. He slammed his large fist onto the green terminal. "They are dismantling the outer security forces. The Royal vanguards are too strong for the basic clones."
"It does not matter," the second commander rumbled. He crossed his massive arms. "The primary research data is already secured. We just need to delay them."
"We will initiate the purge sequence," the third commander ordered coldly. He typed rapidly on a glowing keyboard. "We will release the experimental toxic gas into the upper ventilation shafts. It will flood the primary laboratory and the central corridors. The gas will melt their lungs in seconds. The Royal girls will completely suffocate. They will not survive."
Ken stood in the darkest corner of the core chamber. He was completely hidden by the shadows.
He listened to their conversation. He heard them planning to release the toxic gas. He heard them planning to murder Princess Iris, Naomi, Sayma, Laxmi, and the rest of his friends.
Ken stopped chewing his strawberry candy. He slowly swallowed it.
He shoved his hands deeper into his pockets. He slouched his shoulders, but his posture felt entirely different. The lazy, goofy energy completely drained out of his body. It vanished in a single, silent heartbeat.
He stared at the five massive commanders.
The sleepy, bored look totally disappeared from his dark eyes. His gaze turned incredibly sharp. His eyes became as cold as absolute zero. They were empty of all mercy. They were the eyes of a predator looking at trapped prey.
Ken did not summon his dramatic black cloak. He did not manifest his glowing purple mask. He did not need the theatrics right now. He was just a boy in a wrinkled navy blue suit, standing quietly in the dark.
But the terrifying, god-like entity inside of him was fully awake. The Sovereign was ready.
"You guys talk entirely too much," Ken thought coldly to himself. His internal voice was completely devoid of any humor. It was a chilling, absolute promise of destruction. "You want to drop toxic gas on my team? You want to ruin my peaceful day? I think it is time to cancel your little science project permanently."

Ken stood silently in the darkness. He watched the highest-ranking Ashura commanders prepare their deadly trap. He waited for the absolute perfect moment to strike. The lazy slacker was gone. The true monster of the Belmontia Empire was finally ready to clear the room.
---
Ken stood in the darkest corner of the core chamber. He was completely hidden. The shadows wrapped entirely around his body. He kept his hands shoved deep into the pockets of his navy blue suit pants. His white shirt hung untucked. He did not make a single sound. He just watched the five massive Ashura commanders.
The commanders stood around a glowing green terminal. The room was extremely cold. The air smelled like harsh, burning chemicals. Thick metal pipes lined the walls. The commanders typed rapidly on a large keyboard. They looked very angry. They wanted to kill the 13th Unit.
"We will release the experimental toxic gas into the upper ventilation shafts," the third commander stated. His voice sounded distorted and wet. "The gas will flood the primary laboratory. It will melt their lungs in seconds. The Royal girls will suffocate. They will not survive this trap."
Ken stopped chewing his strawberry candy. He swallowed it slowly.
He stared at the commanders. His dark eyes turned incredibly cold. His sleepy, lazy expression vanished entirely. A sharp, merciless look replaced it. He felt a deep surge of pure annoyance.
"These guys talk entirely too much," Ken thought to himself casually. His internal voice was completely calm. He did not feel angry. He just felt bothered. "They want to drop toxic gas on my friends. Toxic gas is very messy. It ruins clothes. If that gas touches my new suit, the fabric will melt. I absolutely refuse to visit the tailor again. Buying clothes requires measuring tape. Measuring tape is very uncomfortable."
He looked at the glowing green terminal. The commanders prepared to press the final launch button. They wanted to end the battle upstairs.
"I need to cancel their little science project," Ken decided silently. "I want to go back to the hotel. I want to eat a large pizza. This mission is taking way too long."
Ken did not step out of the shadows. He did not shout a dramatic warning. He did not summon a shiny sword. He did not cast a glowing magical circle. He simply stood in the dark and raised his right hand.
He unleashed his power.
A massive, devastating wave of concentrated dark mana erupted from his palm. The magic was completely invisible. It made absolutely no sound. There was no bright flash of light. There was no warning siren. It was just a silent, unstoppable force of pure destruction.
The wave of dark mana swept across the core chamber in a fraction of a millisecond.
It hit the five massive Ashura commanders simultaneously. The monsters did not even have time to turn their heads. They did not have time to scream. They did not feel any pain.
The dark mana erased them completely.
The thick tactical armor, the bulging muscles, and the glowing green veins simply dissolved. The five giant commanders turned into fine gray ash. The ash crumbled onto the metal floor grids. A soft breeze from the ventilation pipes blew the ash away. The monsters ceased to exist.
The glowing green terminal blinked twice. The screen turned dark. The toxic gas sequence stopped instantly. The massive threat was entirely neutralized.
Ken lowered his hand. He shoved it back into his pocket. He slouched his shoulders again. He let out a long, dramatic yawn.
"Well, that is done," Ken mumbled quietly to himself. He turned his back on the empty room. "Now I have to walk all the way back up those stairs. Stairs are the absolute worst invention in the history of the world. They demand so much cardio. My calves are going to ache tomorrow."
He shuffled his cheap shoes against the metal floor. Scuff. Scuff. Scuff. He walked toward the exit of the core chamber. He moved with a slow, lazy pace. He needed to get back to the primary laboratory before anyone noticed he was gone.
Meanwhile, the battle in the primary laboratory raged on.
The room was filled with loud noises. Flashing red emergency lights spun on the ceiling. The security siren blared endlessly. The 13th Unit fought fiercely against the remaining Ashura guards. The guards fired dark green energy blasts from their magical rifles.
