"Surrender?" Javier mocked. He pointed a pale finger at Karna. "You are completely delusional. You think you are winning this battle. But you are just a single spark of light in a massive ocean of darkness. I already secured the Neitherworld Devil Seed. The Bluemoon Kingdom belongs entirely to me. You cannot stop my grand design."
"My master does not care about your grand design," Karna countered smoothly. "My master wants this city cleared. Your dark magic is causing too many problems. I will eliminate you right here."
Javier smirked. His purple eyes flashed with intense malice.
"You can certainly try," Javier challenged. He uncrossed his arms. "But you are completely underestimating my true power. You think these weak shadow spirits are my only weapons. You think you have seen the worst I can do. You are entirely wrong. I am going to show you absolute, crushing despair."
Javier raised both of his hands high into the air. He began to chant a dark, forbidden spell. The words sounded like grinding rocks. They hurt the ears. The temperature in the plaza plummeted. The air turned freezing cold. The toxic purple fog rushed toward him. The fog swirled rapidly around his body like a violent tornado.
The dark sky above the capital city ripped wide open.
Massive, jagged portals tore through the black clouds. The portals glowed with a sickening, bright purple light. They looked like bleeding wounds in the fabric of space. The dark energy pouring out of them was completely suffocating. The sheer magical pressure made the stone ground crack and splinter.
"Witness true dominance!" Javier roared at the top of his lungs.
Monsters began to pour out of the portals in the sky. They did not come out in small groups. They rained down like a massive, unstoppable waterfall of pure darkness.
They fell onto the rooftops. They landed in the streets. They crashed into the plazas.
These were not just basic Black Spirits. The variety of monsters was absolutely terrifying. Giant, mutated shadow wolves with glowing red eyes howled into the night. Massive, hulking trolls made of solid black rock smashed their fists into the ground. Flying gargoyles with razor-sharp wings circled in the sky. Serpentine beasts slithered across the cobblestones, dripping acidic poison from their fangs.
They kept coming. The portals did not close. The sky rained monsters continuously.
Ten thousand. Twenty thousand. Fifty thousand.
The numbers climbed at a blistering, impossible rate. The entire capital city vanished under a moving, writhing carpet of darkness. The buildings were completely covered in crawling beasts. The streets were totally flooded with dark bodies. The sky was entirely blocked out by flying demons.

Javier did not stop the summoning spell. He pushed his dark mana to the absolute limit. He wanted to crush the golden warrior with sheer, overwhelming volume.
Finally, the portals snapped shut. The summoning was complete.
One hundred thousand monsters now stood in the ruined city.
The scale of the dark army was absolutely absurd. It looked like an apocalyptic nightmare. The combined dark aura of one hundred thousand beasts was incredibly intense. The air felt thick and poisonous. The monsters roared and hissed. The sound was deafening. It shook the foundation of the entire kingdom.
Javier lowered his hands. He breathed a little fast, but his cruel smile grew even wider. He looked across the plaza at Karna.
"Look around you, spirit!" Javier bragged loudly. He gestured to his massive, endless army. "This is ultimate power! I command one hundred thousand soldiers of darkness! You are just one single man! Your light will be completely swallowed by my ocean! You are going to die here today!"
Karna stood in the very center of the massive monster horde. He was completely surrounded. There was no escape route. The monsters blocked every single path. They bared their fangs. They raised their weapons. They waited for Javier's command to strike.
Karna looked at the endless sea of glowing purple eyes. He looked at the giant trolls and the flying gargoyles. His silver eyes scanned the battlefield. His highly analytical mind processed the data instantly.
He was a legendary, mythic warrior. He possessed an immense amount of pure golden mana. He could easily fight these monsters. He could shoot thousands of arrows. He could battle them for three days straight without taking a break. He was absolutely not afraid of them.
But Karna also knew the logical reality of the situation.
Fighting one hundred thousand monsters alone was incredibly foolish. It would take far too much time. The collateral damage to the city would be massive. The dark magic would spread too far before he could finish the job. His master specifically ordered a clean, efficient eradication. Fighting a massive war of attrition was not efficient.
Karna lowered the Divine Vijaya Bow. The glowing weapon dissolved into harmless golden sparkles. The bow vanished from his hand.
Javier saw Karna put his weapon away. The dark mage laughed a harsh, mocking laugh.
"Have you finally realized the truth?" Javier sneered. "Have you decided to give up? That is a very smart choice. Bow down to me, and I might make your death relatively painless."
Karna did not bow down. He stood perfectly straight. He reached his hand into the inner pocket of his sleek black tactical jacket.
"I am not giving up," Karna stated politely. His voice remained totally calm. "I am simply adjusting my strategy. Engaging an army of this magnitude solo is statistically inefficient. Therefore, I will request some assistance."
Karna pulled a small, folded piece of white paper from his pocket.
The paper looked completely ordinary. But drawn on the surface of the paper was a highly complex, intricate magical circle. The circle was drawn in bright green ink. It was a very special, one-time-use summoning tag. Ken Eliot had given it to him for absolute emergencies.
Karna held the small piece of paper in front of his chest. He placed two fingers against the green ink.
"You think a piece of paper will save you?!" Javier yelled furiously. He pointed his finger at Karna. "Tear him to shreds! Leave absolutely nothing behind!"
The one hundred thousand monsters roared in unison. The massive, dark ocean surged forward. They charged toward the lone golden warrior. The ground shook violently. They wanted to crush him into dust.
Karna did not flinch. He channeled a tiny spark of his golden mana directly into the paper.
The green ink instantly flared to life. The magical circle began to glow with a brilliant, blinding emerald light. The light was incredibly intense. It cut straight through the dark, toxic fog.
The real boss was about to arrive, and the entire battlefield was about to change permanently.

The small piece of paper burned away in Karna's hand. It turned into bright green ash. The ash floated into the air and expanded rapidly.
