Nimph was a beautiful, fierce woman. She had long, flowing green hair. She wore a sleek silver chest plate. Her green eyes were sharp and focused. She was the tactical leader of the group. She did not use flashy light magic or loud sound magic. She controlled pure, unyielding nature.
A massive, hulking troll made of black rock rushed toward her. It raised a giant stone club. It wanted to crush her flat.
Nimph did not run away. She placed her bare hand on the wet cobblestone street.
"Overgrowth," Nimph stated calmly.
Gigantic, thick green vines ripped violently out of the stone street. The vines possessed sharp thorns. They moved like massive, living snakes. The green vines wrapped entirely around the black rock troll. They coiled tightly around its arms and legs.
The vines squeezed. The physical pressure was immense. The dark troll shattered into tiny pieces of rubble.
Nimph did not stop there. She waved her hand gracefully. The vines shot forward. They slammed into a group of flying gargoyles. The plants grabbed the monsters out of the sky. They threw the gargoyles forcefully into the sides of the stone buildings. The monsters turned to ash upon impact.
"She is like a much scarier version of Risa," Ken analyzed casually. He leaned against a brick wall. He still held his concrete umbrella over his head. "Her plant magic is very aggressive. She completely dominates the battlefield. The developers definitely buffed her stats in the latest patch."
The three Grandmasters fought with absolute, flawless teamwork. Oisin blasted the enemies with sound waves. Lugh pierced the survivors with light spears. Nimph trapped the flanking monsters with her giant vines.
They cleared the entire city block in less than three minutes. The dark army could not touch them. The Black Magicians had totally underestimated the true power of the Bluemoon Kingdom's elite guard.
Ken watched the three warriors stand victorious in the middle of the street. They breathed slowly. They looked completely confident.
"They are doing a fantastic job," Ken decided lazily. "But I cannot just stand here and watch them. I need to assert my dominance. I need to make sure they know who is running this rescue mission. It is time to put my scary mask back on."
Ken stepped into a dark alleyway. He dropped his concrete umbrella. The rock hit the ground with a soft thud. He shoved his hands deep into his pockets. He closed his eyes.
"Anime logic, equip," Ken whispered into the shadows.
His wrinkled navy blue suit melted away. His untucked white shirt vanished. A long, dramatic black cloak materialized over his shoulders. Brilliant, elegant gold embroidery lined the dark fabric. The cloak flowed silently around his legs. A smooth, terrifying black mask formed over his face. A single, glowing purple eye ignited in the absolute center of the mask.

The lazy, complaining slacker was completely gone. Lancelot had returned.
Lancelot did not walk out of the alley. He simply floated upward. He defied gravity entirely. He ascended slowly into the dark sky. The black rain did not touch his cloak. An invisible, intense aura pushed the water away from his body.
He floated high above the ruined city block. He stood perfectly still in the empty air. The glowing purple eye pierced through the dark clouds. He projected an aura of absolute, god-like authority. The temperature in the street plummeted instantly. The air turned freezing cold.
Down on the cobblestones, the three Grandmasters felt the sudden, terrifying shift in the atmosphere.
Oisin stopped strumming his guitar. Lugh lowered his light spear. Nimph turned her head sharply. They all looked up at the sky.
They saw the dark figure hovering above them. They saw the golden embroidery. They saw the glowing purple mask.
The Grandmasters did not raise their weapons. They did not prepare for a fight. They recognized the legendary entity instantly. They knew exactly who was floating in the sky. They knew this was the absolute strongest being in the entire continent.
Nimph stepped forward. She dropped to one knee. She placed her right hand over her heart. She bowed her head deeply in pure respect.
Oisin and Lugh immediately followed her lead. They knelt on the wet cobblestones. They bowed their heads. They showed ultimate, profound reverence to the shadow god.
"Great Lancelot," Nimph greeted respectfully. Her voice echoed in the quiet street. "The Blackmoon faction offers you our deepest greetings. We are incredibly honored by your presence."
Lancelot stared down at the three kneeling warriors. The glowing purple eye did not blink. The sky remained dark. The next interaction was about to be extremely cold, and Ken was fully prepared to deliver the absolute best edgy anime monologue of his life.
---
Lancelot hovered high in the dark sky. The black rain poured down all around him. The water never touched his elegant cloak. He looked down at the three kneeling warriors. Oisin, Lugh, and Nimph kept their heads bowed. They waited for the shadow god to speak.
Inside his mind, Ken Eliot felt a massive wave of awkwardness.
"They are actually kneeling in the puddles," Ken thought to himself casually. "Their nice blue uniforms are going to get completely ruined. I really hate doing this edgy persona. I just want to tell them to stand up and go buy a pizza. But I have to play the part. Lancelot never smiles. Lancelot is incredibly mean."
Ken focused his thoughts. He channeled his inner cartoon villain. He made his voice sound incredibly deep. He removed all traces of human emotion from his tone. He sounded like a freezing winter storm.
"You offer greetings," Lancelot stated coldly. The deep voice echoed across the ruined city block. It shook the broken windows. "But your greetings are completely useless to me. You are incredibly late."
Nimph flinched slightly. She kept her head down. "We apologize, Great Lancelot. The traitor Greed sealed us inside a dark vault. We could not escape until the magical locks shattered."
Lancelot did not accept the excuse. He projected an aura of absolute, crushing disappointment.
"You call yourselves Grandmasters," Lancelot mocked smoothly. The glowing purple eye burned brighter in the dark sky. "You call yourselves the elite protectors of this kingdom. Yet you allowed a single, pathetic scientist to lock you in a basement. You slept in the dark while your city burned to the ground. You slept while your citizens were turned into mindless weapons."
Oisin gripped the neck of his silver guitar tightly. He felt a deep sting of shame. Lugh stared at the wet cobblestones. He knew the shadow god was entirely correct. They had failed their kingdom.
"I am doing your job for you," Lancelot declared mercilessly. He crossed his arms over his dark chest. "My spirits are clearing the streets. I am fixing your massive mistakes. Do not kneel before me. Stand up. Pick up your weapons. Start doing your actual jobs."
Ken finished his dramatic speech. He felt very proud of his acting skills.
