Ken did not run away. He did not want to do any cardio. Dodging required moving his legs. Moving his legs made him tired.

"I need an absolute defense," Ken analyzed calmly in his mind. "I watched a very popular ninja show once. The cool characters always summon giant glowing avatars to protect themselves. It looks amazing. It requires zero physical movement. I will just copy that technique."

Ken closed his eyes for a split second. He gathered his vast, infinite mana.

"Phantom Knight," Ken commanded softly.

A blinding, brilliant aura erupted from Ken's body. The aura was a deep, majestic purple. The magical energy expanded rapidly outward. It took a physical, solid shape around him.

First, massive glowing ribs formed in the air. The ribs locked together. They created a giant skeletal ribcage. The ribcage surrounded Ken completely. Next, glowing magical muscles wrapped over the bones. Finally, thick, impenetrable spectral armor formed over the muscles.

A gigantic, towering knight made of pure purple energy stood in the plaza. The Phantom Knight was incredibly huge. It towered over the buildings. Ken stood perfectly safe inside the center of the glowing avatar. He floated gently in the middle of the knight's chest.

The jagged dark spikes slammed into the Phantom Knight.

The spikes hit the glowing purple armor. The impact created massive explosions. Dust and rocks flew everywhere. The loud noise echoed across the empty plaza.

The dust cleared. The Phantom Knight stood totally untouched. The dark spikes simply shattered against the spectral armor. The attacks did absolutely zero damage. The barrier was entirely flawless.

Ken crossed his arms inside the glowing avatar. He let out a loud, dramatic yawn.

"This is the best defensive move ever," Ken mumbled happily to himself. "I am completely untouchable. I can just stand here all day. It is like sitting inside a giant, magical tank. I do not have to walk at all. I am a tactical genius."

The General glared at the towering Phantom Knight. The corrupted warrior felt intense rage. He gathered every single drop of dark mana he possessed. He prepared to launch a much bigger attack. The battle in the empty plaza was just getting started.

---

The corrupted General roared at the sky. His glowing purple eyes burned with intense, toxic light. He refused to give up. The dark magic controlled his mind completely. He raised both of his muscular arms.

A massive, swirling vortex of dark energy gathered above his head. The energy condensed tightly. It formed a gigantic, jagged black battleaxe. The axe was almost as big as the Phantom Knight. The weapon dripped with acidic purple magic. The acid melted the stone floor below.

The General swung his arms down. He threw the gigantic black axe directly at the glowing purple avatar.

Ken Eliot hovered safely inside the chest of the Phantom Knight. He watched the massive weapon fly toward him. He did not look scared. He looked slightly bored.

"He is trying very hard," Ken observed casually in his mind. "But this giant avatar consumes too much screen time. It is very flashy. I want to try a different move. I want to use a precision attack."

Ken waved his right hand.

The gigantic Phantom Knight instantly dissolved. The glowing purple bones and armor melted into harmless mist. The massive avatar vanished entirely. Ken dropped gracefully to the ground. His black cloak fluttered as he landed on the cobblestones.

The giant black battleaxe was still flying toward him. Without the giant shield, the axe looked completely lethal.

The General grinned a sinister, corrupted grin. He thought he had won. He thought the masked entity had run out of magic.

Ken did not run. He stood perfectly still. He raised his right hand. He pointed his index finger directly at the incoming, massive black axe. He curled his other fingers into a loose fist. He stood sideways, offering a very slim profile.

He remembered a very famous anime villain. The villain was a white and purple emperor from space. The space emperor always destroyed planets with a single, tiny beam from his finger. It was an incredibly clean, flawless technique.

"I will not destroy a planet today," Ken decided silently. "I will just break his toy."

Ken focused a microscopic amount of intensely pure, compressed mana at the very tip of his index finger. A tiny, incredibly bright red light ignited on his fingertip. The light hummed with absolute, concentrated power.

"Death Beam," Ken whispered softly.

He fired the spell.

A thin, blindingly fast beam of pure red energy shot from his finger. The beam was no thicker than a pencil. But it moved with impossible speed. It sliced completely through the air. The air rippled violently around the red streak of light.

The tiny red beam hit the gigantic black battleaxe.

It pierced the center of the dark weapon flawlessly. The red light drilled straight through the thick, toxic magic. The dark axe stopped in mid-air. It hovered for a fraction of a second.

Then, the massive black weapon completely shattered. It exploded into a million pieces of harmless dark dust. The dust rained down on the plaza like black snow.

The red beam did not stop. It continued its flawless path. It zipped across the plaza. It hit the General directly in the right shoulder.

The red beam pierced the thick, dark iron armor instantly. It blew a clean, small hole right through the metal plating. The impact knocked the General violently backward. He spun in the air and crashed onto the stone pavement. He slid across the dirt.

"That is a very satisfying attack," Ken mumbled lazily under his breath. He blew imaginary smoke off his index finger. "It is very quiet. It is very precise. It requires almost zero body movement. I highly recommend this move to all lazy people."

The General pushed himself up from the ground. He clutched his damaged shoulder. The dark magic pumped wildly through his gray veins. He felt no pain. The corruption forced him to keep fighting.

The General slammed his fists onto the ground again. He channeled every ounce of his corrupted power into the earth. The sky above the plaza turned pitch black. Thick, dark clouds swirled violently. A massive storm formed in seconds.

Toxic purple rain began to fall. The dark raindrops hissed as they hit the stone. The General summoned a massive, chaotic storm of pure dark mana. The storm threatened to melt the entire plaza.

Ken stood in the rain. An invisible aura pushed the toxic drops away from his elegant black cloak.

"A weather attack?" Ken sighed internally. "Now he is trying to ruin my clothes. This is totally unacceptable. I need to wash this darkness away. I need a very large amount of water."

Ken decided to use another famous anime technique. He loved ninja shows. He loved the complex hand gestures. He decided to mimic them just for fun.

Ken raised both of his hands to his chest. He moved his fingers incredibly fast. He formed specific hand signs.

"Bird. Monkey. Dragon," Ken whispered perfectly. He finished the sequence. He held his hands out.

"Water Release: Water Dragon Technique," Ken announced with absolute authority.
