Ken shuffled out of the living room. He dragged his cheap shoes on the wooden floorboards. Scuff. Scuff. Scuff. He walked down the hallway. He slipped into the bathroom. He locked the door with a soft click.
He stood in the center of the small room. He completely dropped the goofy act. His sleepy eyes turned incredibly sharp and cold. He stood up perfectly straight.
He raised his right hand. He snapped his fingers.
The air shimmered. An exact magical clone appeared next to him. The clone wore the same wrinkled suit. It grabbed its stomach and made a pained face.
"Stay here and make some noise," Ken ordered quietly. "Act like you have a stomachache. Wash your hands a few times. Flush the toilet."
The clone nodded. "You got it, boss."
Ken dissolved into the dark shadows. He completely vanished from the estate. He teleported silently to his tiny, dusty bedroom upstairs. He locked his bedroom door. He stood in the middle of the room. He was ready to summon his dragon.
---
The bedroom was completely quiet. The curtains were drawn tightly shut. Ken Eliot stood in the center of the wooden floorboards. He did not slouch. He did not look lazy. He looked incredibly serious.
He raised his right hand. He snapped his fingers again. Snap.
The air inside the bedroom instantly dropped in temperature. It became freezing cold. The walls vibrated with intense magical energy. A brilliant, glowing green magical circle materialized directly on the wooden floor. The green light illuminated the dark corners of the room. It was a high-level, absolute summoning spell.
The shadows in the room began to swirl rapidly. They gathered over the glowing green circle. A massive, towering figure stepped out of the darkness.
It was Ryu.
Ryu was absolutely gigantic. He was a heavily muscular human male. He looked like he spent twenty-four hours a day lifting boulders. He wore ancient, dark traditional armor. Thick, jagged, dark red dragon scales ran down his massive arms and covered the sides of his neck. His eyes were bright, burning gold. His pupils were sharp, vertical reptilian slits.
Ryu immediately dropped straight down onto one knee. He hit the floorboards very hard. He slammed his massive fist over his heart. He bowed his head deeply.
"My glorious, undisputed Master!" Ryu announced. His voice was a booming, dramatic baritone. He sounded like a theatrical stage actor giving the performance of a lifetime. "I have answered your call! Tell me your command, Supreme Ruler! I will turn your enemies to ash!"
"Lower your voice, Ryu," Ken commanded coldly. His voice dropped into the terrifying, deep tone of the Sovereign. "The walls in this house are incredibly thin. Naomi will yell at me if you make too much noise."

"Forgive me, my Lord," Ryu whispered instantly. He kept his head bowed. He lowered his booming voice to a highly intense, aggressive whisper. "I merely overflow with absolute devotion. What is your will?"
Ken looked down at the giant dragon-man. He kept his hands shoved deep into his pockets.
"I need a full intelligence report," Ken stated firmly. "The news broadcast claims the Solurious weapon was launched from within the Belmontia Empire. They claim it was fired from the eastern mountains. Is this information accurate?"
Ryu looked up. His golden eyes burned with pure rage. His hands clenched into tight fists. Small puffs of smoke exited his nose.
"It is completely accurate, my Lord," Ryu confirmed. His voice trembled with intense anger. "I visited the eastern mountains myself. I investigated the blast site. The missile trajectory perfectly matches the impact zone in the Bluemoon Kingdom."
Ken felt a cold chill run through his body. He did not show any emotion on his face. He listened closely.
"The launch facility was completely hidden," Ryu explained. He stood up slowly. He paced across the tiny bedroom. "It was buried deep inside a mountain cave. They used advanced cloaking magic to hide the launch tubes. The Imperial border scouts never saw it."
"Did you find any evidence of the extremists?" Ken asked. "Senator Norman claims rogue terrorists fired the weapon."
Ryu let out a harsh, mocking laugh. He crossed his massive arms over his chest armor.
"There are no extremists, Boss," Ryu growled. "I inspected the ashes inside the launch facility. I found the remains of highly advanced magical control panels. I found the remains of pristine white lab coats. Rogue terrorists do not wear clean lab coats. Rogue terrorists do not possess billions of Bels to build a massive underground missile silo."
Ryu stopped pacing. He stood directly in front of Ken. He looked absolutely furious.
"The corrupt politicians built that facility," Ryu declared with absolute certainty. "Senator Norman and his faction funded the entire operation. They built the weapon right under the Emperor's nose. They intentionally fired the missile at the Bluemoon Kingdom. They murdered millions of innocent people."
Ken stood perfectly still. The silence in the bedroom was entirely deafening.
He processed the information. He looked at the floorboards. He thought about the destroyed kingdom. He thought about the five million lives lost in a single flash of toxic light. He thought about the innocent families who were just trying to live their normal lives.
He thought about the corrupt politicians sitting in their luxurious offices. They wore expensive suits. They drank fine wine. They ordered the absolute destruction of a peaceful nation just to create chaos. They wanted to grab more political power. They used his country, his home, as a massive shield to hide their crimes.
Ken Eliot completely lost his temper.
It did not happen often. Ken was a professional slacker. He was the master of laziness. He always kept a goofy smile on his face. He always made silly jokes to break the tension. He treated deadly battles like boring chores. He rarely allowed himself to feel genuine, unfiltered anger.
But this was not a simple battle. This was a flawless, calculated genocide.
The lazy mask entirely shattered.
Ken's dark eyes widened. They did not look sleepy anymore. They looked like deep, empty voids. A terrifying, freezing aura exploded from his body. The aura was not visible, but it was incredibly dense. It pushed against the walls of the bedroom. The wooden floorboards groaned under the immense pressure. The glass window rattled violently.
The temperature in the room plummeted below freezing. A thin layer of frost formed on the wooden desk. The air turned so thick it was hard to breathe.
Ryu took a slow step backward. The massive dragon-man gasped softly. His golden eyes went wide with profound shock. He stared at his master.
Ryu had served the Sovereign for a very long time. He knew Ken was incredibly powerful. He knew Ken was a god-like entity. But Ryu had not seen this specific expression on Ken's face in many, many years.
Ken's face was twisted into a mask of pure, absolute, unadulterated rage. His jaw was clenched so tightly his teeth ground together. His hands were pulled out of his pockets. His fists were balled so tight his knuckles turned completely white.
