He did not look like the funny boy who loved potato chips. He looked like the ancient, terrifying conqueror of the shadows. He looked like the "old Ken." The Ken who did not show any mercy to his enemies. The Ken who completely erased entire armies with a single word.
"They used my country," Ken whispered. His voice was incredibly quiet, but it vibrated with lethal intensity. It sounded like a blade dragging across solid stone. "They used my home to murder millions of people. They hid their weapon in my mountains. They blamed imaginary terrorists."
Ryu dropped to one knee again. He bowed his head entirely. He felt the overwhelming, terrifying wrath of his master. He felt a deep surge of fanatical devotion. This was the true Sovereign. This was the god of destruction.
"My Lord," Ryu rumbled respectfully. "Give me the order. I will fly to the Inner City. I will burn Senator Norman's mansion to the ground. I will turn the entire political faction into a pile of gray ash. I will avenge the fallen kingdom."
Ken stared at the frost on his desk. He took a slow, deep breath. He forced his hands to uncurl. He shoved them back into his pockets. He needed to control his anger. If he let his rage take over, he would destroy the entire capital city. He would ruin the peaceful lives of his family in the Iron Rose District. He would terrify Naomi, Sayma, and the rest of the 13th Unit.
He could not let that happen. He had to play the game. He had to be smart.
"No, Ryu," Ken commanded coldly. His voice regained its absolute control. The freezing temperature in the room slowly began to rise. "Do not burn his mansion. If you attack him directly, the Emperor will declare martial law. The entire Empire will go into panic mode. The 13th Unit will be thrown into a massive, chaotic war. I refuse to let my team suffer because of those corrupt idiots."
Ryu looked up. His golden eyes showed pure confusion. "Then what is your will, Supreme One? We cannot let them escape justice."
"They will not escape," Ken promised. The dark, merciless look remained in his eyes. "They think they are playing a brilliant game of chess. They think they can manipulate the Emperor. They think they can hide behind fake terrorist plots."
Ken walked over to the small window. He looked out at the bright, sunny capital city. He looked toward the Inner City.
"We are going to let them think they are winning," Ken explained. His voice was smooth and terrifying. "We are going to let them celebrate their massive explosion. We will watch them make their next move. And when they finally step out of the shadows to claim their prize..."
Ken smiled. It was not a goofy smile. It was a cruel, highly dangerous smirk.
"...I will personally rip their entire conspiracy apart," Ken declared. "I will dismantle their power piece by piece. I will make Senator Norman beg for mercy in front of the entire Upper Council. I will show them exactly what happens when they ruin my peaceful life."
Stolen story; please report.
Ryu grinned a fierce, jagged grin. He loved the sound of absolute destruction. He slammed his fist against his chest. "Your will is absolute, my Master! We will prepare the shadow network. We will track their every movement."
"Go," Ken ordered simply.
The green magical circle flared brightly on the floorboards. Ryu stepped backward into the shadows. The giant dragon-man dissolved seamlessly into the darkness. The green light vanished entirely. The bedroom returned to its normal, dusty state.
Ken stood alone by the window. He took one last, deep breath. He completely suppressed the terrifying aura of the Sovereign. He locked the ancient, angry conqueror deep inside his mind. He slouched his shoulders forward. He pulled his shirt untucked again. He made sure his tie was crooked.
He let his eyes droop into their usual, sleepy, half-closed expression. He put his goofy, lazy smile right back onto his face.
"Alright, the dramatic meeting is officially over," Ken mumbled lazily to himself. He stretched his arms and let out a loud yawn. "I need to get back downstairs. The clone is probably doing a terrible job pretending to have a stomachache. I hope Naomi saved me some fruit."
Ken snapped his fingers. He teleported back to the bathroom. He swapped places with his clone. The clone popped out of existence.
Ken unlocked the bathroom door. He shuffled down the hallway. He dragged his shoes on the wood. Scuff. Scuff. Scuff. He walked back into the living room.
The elite girls were still gathered around the television. They looked incredibly stressed. They talked frantically about the news broadcast.
Ken walked over to the sofa. He dropped heavily onto the cushions. He let out a dramatic, miserable groan. He rubbed his stomach.
"Wow, that was a terrible experience," Ken complained loudly, making sure everyone heard him. "I am never eating that brand of potato chips again. My stomach completely rejected them. I feel like I just fought a war in that bathroom."
Naomi turned around. She looked at him with a warm, relieved smile. She playfully tossed an apple slice at him. It hit his chest. "You are such a baby, Ken. Eat some fruit. It will make you feel better."
"Thank you, boss lady," Ken grinned goofily. He picked up the apple slice and ate it.
He sat on the sofa with his noisy, chaotic family. He complained about his stomach. He made silly jokes about the news anchors' suits. He looked like the absolute laziest, most useless boy in the world.
But behind his sleepy eyes, the Sovereign was fully awake, and he was ready to completely destroy the corrupt politicians who dared to ruin his peaceful day.

The dark portal closed with a soft popping sound. The air turned incredibly cold. The space felt entirely empty. This was a secret pocket dimension. It belonged exclusively to Lancelot. It was the deepest part of his personal shadow realm. He used this specific place to hold his most dangerous prisoners.
Dr. Raven sat on the cold floor. The corrupt politician looked absolutely miserable. His expensive black suit was completely torn. Dust covered his pristine clothes. He shivered violently. He hugged his knees to his chest. He looked around the pitch-black room. He could not see any walls. He could not see a ceiling. He only saw endless darkness.
A terrifying entity stood a few feet away from him. It wore a dirty, blood-stained executioner's robe. Dirty bandages wrapped entirely around its face. It did not have normal hands. It had massive, rusty metal scissor blades instead of fingers. The entity clicked the rusty blades together. Snip. Snip. Snip.
Dr. Raven stared at the blades. He breathed very fast. He felt pure, unfiltered terror. He wanted to scream. He wanted to escape. He could not move. The fear paralyzed his muscles entirely.
Suddenly, a bright purple light ignited in the center of the dark room.
