The scythe missed him entirely. The mantis lost its balance. It stumbled forward on the cobblestones. Naomi appeared in a flash of green wind. She kicked the bug directly into a stone wall. The bug was totally defeated.
"Nice dodge, Ken," Naomi smiled brightly. She patted his arm. "Stay close to me."
"I am practically untouchable," Ken grinned a goofy grin. He popped his collar. "My evasion stats are completely maxed out."
Meanwhile, in the western district, the 16th Unit cleared their own sector. Princess Hestia wore a pristine white silk dress. She walked gracefully down the street. She looked totally arrogant. She did not draw a weapon.
A massive group of giant centipedes crawled toward her. The centipedes sprayed toxic green acid from their mouths.
Princess Hestia simply raised her delicate hand.
"Thermal Equilibrium," Hestia stated calmly.
The boiling acid hit her invisible magical field. The terrifying heat instantly vanished. The acid turned into a harmless, room-temperature puddle of water. It splashed onto the street. It did not touch her perfect white dress.
Elma dashed forward. The blonde swordswoman wore a spotless white and gold uniform. She swung her twin silver swords. She sliced through the centipedes effortlessly. She fought with perfect, elegant precision.
Elma paused for a second. She wiped a tiny speck of dust from her sleeve. Her cheeks turned slightly pink. She thought about Ken. She wondered if the messy slacker was safe in the commercial district. She hoped he was not doing anything stupid. She quickly shook her head. She slashed another bug. She focused on securing the twenty points for Princess Hestia.
Zaima stood nearby. The scowling servant summoned sharp, white triangular barriers. She crushed a group of mutant beetles. "Keep pushing!" Zinia yelled. "We will clear this sector faster than the 13th Unit! We are superior!"
In the industrial zone, Prince Hephaestus operated with his tired engineers. The 9th Unit did not use flashy swords. They used brilliant technology.
Prince Hephaestus wore a dirty leather apron. He drank from a metal thermos of black coffee. His shaggy brown hair looked messy. He watched his engineers set up automated magical turrets. The turrets fired rapid bursts of blue energy at the swarming bugs.
"Keep the turrets firing!" Hephaestus ordered loudly. He adjusted his welding goggles. "We need these points to fund our new heating projects for the outer districts! Do not let a single bug pass this line!"
Heart, the tough Vice-Captain, swung a massive steel wrench. She smashed a giant wasp out of the sky. She laughed a deep, rumbling laugh. "These bugs are very annoying, boss! But they break very easily!"
The different Royal units engaged the invading mutant insects systematically. The entire capital city turned into a massive, magical war zone. Every single faction wanted the glorious rewards.

The battlefields across the capital city turned incredibly active. Every single Royal faction wanted the massive twenty-point reward. The princes and princesses unleashed their signature magical abilities. The destruction of the bugs happened rapidly.
The 1st Prince, Zeus Belmontia, stood in a crowded, ruined plaza. He wore a crisp white military uniform. Yellow sparks of electricity danced around his polished black boots. He looked totally strict and commanding.
A massive swarm of giant, mutated spiders crawled toward him. The spiders hissed loudly. They bared their sharp fangs.
Zeus did not step backward. He raised his right hand.
"Ionized Storm," Zeus commanded coldly.
Brilliant, blinding lightning bolts shot from his fingers. The electricity acted like a massive railgun. The yellow bolts pierced through dozens of spiders at once. The loud thunder shook the nearby buildings. The bugs exploded into gray dust. Zeus marched forward. He cleared the entire plaza in two minutes. He secured his points with absolute, terrifying efficiency.
The 2nd Princess, Hera Belmontia, fought in the inner city. She wore a beautiful golden gown. Her long golden hair flowed over her shoulders. She looked completely arrogant. A large group of giant flying wasps buzzed toward her.
Hera raised her finger. She pointed at the sky.
"Regal Gravity," Hera announced smoothly.
The gravity in the sky multiplied instantly. The invisible force became completely overwhelming. The flying wasps slammed violently into the cobblestones. The sheer pressure crushed them completely flat. The bugs squished into the ground. Hera walked past the crushed insects without a single speck of dirt on her dress. She smiled a cruel, victorious smile.
The 3rd Prince, Poseidon Belmontia, laughed loudly in the market district. He had wild sea-green hair and tanned skin. He stood next to a large, decorative water fountain. A pack of mutant wolves charged at him.
Poseidon manipulated the water from the fountain. He formed sharp, high-pressure water blades. He threw the water blades through the air. The liquid sliced the mutant insects in half perfectly.
"This is excellent target practice!" Poseidon cheered boisterously. He flexed his muscles. "Bring me more bugs! The ocean always wins!"
Back with the 13th Unit, the fighting continued. The girls systematically cleared the streets of their assigned sector. They worked with flawless teamwork.
Sayma pushed her glasses up. A group of mutant beetles sprayed toxic acid toward Princess Iris. Sayma thrust her hands forward.
"Absolute Hexagon!" Sayma shouted politely.
A bright, glowing golden honeycomb barrier snapped into place. The Absolute Hexagon blocked the toxic acid completely. The acid sizzled against the solid light. The barrier did not crack. Sayma maintained perfect defense.
Ira stood perfectly still near a brick wall. Her pale face showed zero emotion. She raised her hands. She summoned her high-pressure water whips. She lashed out with incredible speed. She grabbed the legs of the giant insects. She yanked her arms backward. The massive bugs flipped completely upside down.
"Target immobilized," Ira stated in her flat, robotic voice. She stared blankly at the struggling bugs.
Luna sat on a wooden bench nearby. The lightning user rubbed her sleepy eyes. She pulled her knitted blanket tighter around her shoulders. She pointed two fingers at the overturned bugs.
"Zap," Luna mumbled lazily.
Bright yellow lightning struck the wet bugs. The electricity shocked them entirely. The bugs stopped moving. They were totally knocked out. Luna let out a massive, dramatic yawn.
"Can we go home now?" Luna complained softly. "I did my job. I want to sleep in a real bed. This bench is very uncomfortable."
Princess Iris smiled warmly at her team. She lowered her silver rapier. She looked down the empty street. The mutant insects were gone. The area was totally secure.
"You all did a fantastic job," Princess Iris praised them. Her violet eyes shone with pride. "We contained the threat in this zone. We earned our rewards. The 13th Unit is securing our place on the leaderboard."
Ken Eliot walked down the street. He slouched his shoulders as far as they could possibly go. He held his empty bag of potato chips. He crumpled the plastic wrapper into a small ball. He tossed it into a nearby trash can.
