"We are with you, Ken," Princess Iris said softly. Her violet eyes locked onto the target.
The specialized crossbow hummed loudly. The noise was incredible. The dark metal vibrated with raw, absolute power. The eight different magical elements swirled together inside the weapon. Wind, fire, earth, light, water, lightning, nature, and holy magic mixed perfectly.
A massive, glowing energy arrow materialized on the top of the crossbow. The arrow was huge. It shone with a brilliant, swirling rainbow of colors. The sheer magical pressure radiating from the arrow pushed the dust away from the street.
Ken held the weapon steady. He slouched his shoulders slightly. He squinted his left eye. He stuck his tongue out of the corner of his mouth. He looked totally goofy.
"This thing is very bright," Ken complained lazily. "I definitely need sunglasses next time. Okay, everyone. On the count of three. Let go of the strings."
The giant stone dome cracked completely down the middle. The mutant bugs shrieked loudly. They were about to break free.
"One," Ken counted smoothly.
The bugs pushed against the rocks. The stone walls began to crumble.
"Two," Ken continued. He adjusted his aim slightly. He pointed the glowing rainbow arrow directly at the center crack.
The rocks shattered entirely. The giant green beetles and flying wasps poured out of the gap. They bared their sharp fangs. They charged toward the 13th Unit.
"Three! Fire!" Ken yelled happily.
The eight elite girls let go of the strings simultaneously.
The strings snapped forward with a loud, metallic twang. The massive, glowing rainbow energy arrow shot out of the crossbow. It moved with blistering, impossible speed. It tore through the air. The sound was totally deafening. It sounded like a roaring jet engine.
The colorful energy blast hit the swarm of mutant bugs.
The explosion was absolutely spectacular.
A gigantic, blinding dome of rainbow-colored light erupted in the middle of the street. The blast completely engulfed the entire swarm of bugs. The intense, concentrated elemental magic instantly vaporized the thick green shells of the beetles. The lightning shocked them. The fire roasted them. The wind sliced them. The water crushed them. The earth smashed them.
The blast wiped out every single mutant insect inside the earth net. The bugs turned into fine gray ash. The ash completely dissolved into the blinding light.
The massive shockwave pushed the girls backward. Naomi stumbled, but she caught her balance. Laxmi shielded her eyes from the bright flash. Princess Iris held her ground firmly.

The street was totally quiet. The earth net had vanished entirely. The swarm of giant mutant bugs was completely, utterly erased from existence. There was absolutely nothing left but a clean, empty cobblestone street. The devestating blast was a flawless success.
Ken lowered the massive crossbow. The dark metal weapon dissolved into harmless cyan mana. The crossbow popped out of existence. He wiped his hands together. He shoved his hands back into his pockets. He slouched his shoulders. He let out a long, dramatic sigh.
"Well, that was a lot of colors," Ken mumbled lazily. He gave the team a big, goofy smile. "I think the friendship laser worked perfectly. The bugs are officially gone. Now, can we please go get some lunch? Holding that heavy metal bow made my arms incredibly sore. I need a massive sandwich to recover my strength."
Naomi laughed a bright, warm, genuine laugh. She looked at the empty street. She felt incredibly proud of her messy, lazy friend.
"You did great, Ken," Naomi smiled happily. Her green eyes sparkled with affection. "The weapon was brilliant. I will buy you a huge sandwich. You totally earned it."
Laxmi cheered loudly. She jumped into the air. "That was the coolest attack ever! We need to do that again! The rainbow explosion was amazing!"
Sayma pushed her glasses up. She offered a polite, gentle smile. "It was highly efficient. We neutralized the entire swarm in a single strike. Your tactical integration of our magic was mathematically flawless, Ken."
Luna rubbed her sleepy eyes. She yawned widely. "It was very loud. But it was very fast. I appreciate fast battles. I am going to take a nap now."
Princess Iris smiled warmly at her chaotic, wonderful team. The mutant bug threat in the commercial district was completely resolved. They had worked together flawlessly.
Ken Eliot stood on the street. He slouched lazily. He chewed on a piece of strawberry candy. He looked completely bored. He did not care about the glory. He did not care about the power. He just wanted his lunch. He successfully managed to defeat a massive army of monsters without doing a single bit of cardio. To Ken, that was the absolute greatest victory in the world.

A giant green beetle flew across the street. Its wings buzzed with a loud, annoying sound. It snapped its large pincers. It aimed straight for a nearby fruit stand.
Ken Eliot stood on the cobblestone sidewalk. He slouched his shoulders. His white shirt hung completely untucked over his belt. He kept his left hand in his pocket. He held a bag of sour cream and onion potato chips in his right hand.
He reached into the bag. He pulled out a large, salty chip. He tossed the chip into the air. He opened his mouth. He caught the chip perfectly on his tongue. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. He chewed it slowly and happily.
The green beetle saw Ken. It changed its direction. It dived toward him. It wanted to bite him.
Ken did not run away. He did not drop his bag of chips. He just took a tiny step to the right.
"Observation Haki," Ken mumbled lazily.
The giant bug missed him completely. It crashed headfirst into a solid brick wall. The bug fell to the ground. It was totally knocked out.
Naomi dashed across the street. Her green wind magic swirled around her boots. She moved like a red-haired blur. She held her twin silver daggers. She slashed the air. She cut a massive flying wasp in half. The wasp turned into gray ash. The ash blew away in the wind.
Naomi turned around. She saw Ken standing near the brick wall. She smiled a very bright, warm smile. Her green eyes sparkled with genuine affection. She walked over to him.
"You need to watch out, Ken," Naomi teased softly. "These bugs are everywhere. Stay close to me. I will keep the ugly ones away from you."
Ken gave her a goofy, relaxed grin. "You are doing a fantastic job, Naomi. You are slicing them up perfectly. I am completely safe. Do you want a potato chip? They are very crispy today."
Naomi chuckled softly. She reached into his bag. She took a potato chip. She popped it into her mouth. "Thank you, Ken. But we really need to figure out how to stop this endless swarm. The bugs just keep coming."
