A tiny, microscopic cyan mana bullet shot out of his fingertip. The bullet was completely invisible. It did not glow. It did not make a sound. It zoomed across the ruined plaza at blistering speed.
The tiny cyan bullet flew right past Zeus. It flew past the floating broadcast cameras. It hit the absolute center of the Bug King's dark purple chest shell.
There was no explosion. There was no flash of light.
The reality-bending magic activated instantly. The cyan spell altered the fundamental structure of the monster's armor. The incredibly dense, indestructible dark purple shell suddenly changed. The magical molecules shifted. The thick armor instantly became as fragile and brittle as a dry autumn leaf.
The Bug King did not notice the change. The monster continued to charge its toxic green acid beam. It prepared to fire.
Zeus Belmontia roared loudly. He threw both of his hands downward.
"Judgment Strike!" Zeus screamed at the top of his lungs.
A gigantic, blinding pillar of pure yellow lightning crashed down from the storm clouds. The lightning bolt was absolutely massive. It looked like a falling sun. The loud thunderclap deafened the entire arena. The bright light washed out the broadcast cameras completely.
The massive lightning bolt slammed directly into the top of the Bug King's head.
The electricity surged downward. It hit the dark purple chest shell.
Because Ken had secretly weakened the armor, the shell offered absolutely zero resistance. The brittle, fragile armor completely shattered upon impact. It exploded into a million tiny pieces of purple dust.
The raw, devastating electrical current pierced straight through the shattered armor. It struck the monster's unprotected core.
The Bug King shrieked in absolute agony. The toxic green light in its jaws died instantly. The massive beast could not fire its acid beam. The pure voltage completely destroyed its internal organs. The monster's body locked up entirely.
The lightning consumed the beast. The Bug King went completely still. Its massive body collapsed onto the cobblestones with a heavy, echoing thud. Smoke rose from its shattered armor. The monster was completely motionless.
The bright yellow light slowly faded away. The dark clouds parted. The warm morning sun shined down on the plaza once again.
Zeus stood perfectly still in the center of the massive crater. He breathed very fast. His white uniform was slightly dirty, but he looked completely victorious. He slowly lowered his arms. The sparks of electricity faded from his boots. He looked at the empty space where the monster used to be.
Zeus smirked a cruel, arrogant smirk. He fully believed his ultimate attack had shattered the unbreakable armor all by itself. He believed his raw power was absolute.

Up in the broadcast booth, the sports anchors went absolutely wild.
"Unbelievable!" Bob the anchor roared through the speakers. He jumped out of his chair. "The 1st Prince has done it! He completely obliterated the Bug King! His final strike shattered the monster's ultimate defense! What an incredible display of sheer, overwhelming power!"
Sarah clapped her hands frantically. "You are totally right, Bob! The entire Empire just witnessed the true strength of Zeus Belmontia! He proved exactly why he is a top contender for the throne! He is an unstoppable force of nature!"
The citizens watching from their homes cheered loudly. They celebrated the massive victory. They praised the 1st Prince.
Down in the plaza, the 13th Unit peeked out from behind the rock wall.
Laxmi punched her fist into the air. "Wow! That lightning bolt was massive! He totally roasted that bug!"
Sayma pushed her glasses up. She clicked her pen. She wrote quickly in her notebook. "His magical output is mathematically astounding. He broke through a maximum density shell with a single strike. His power scaling is incredibly high."
Princess Iris sheathed her silver rapier. She looked at her older brother. She felt a sense of relief that the monster was gone. She also felt a deep sense of caution. She knew Zeus was a very dangerous rival.
Naomi slid her twin daggers back into her belt. She smiled a warm, friendly smile. She turned around and walked over to Ken.
Ken still sat on his broken piece of concrete. He slouched his shoulders. He pulled his right hand out of his pocket. He reached into his bag of cookies. He pulled out a chocolate chip cookie. He popped it into his mouth. He chewed it happily.
"You survived, Ken," Naomi teased gently. "The big bug is gone. You can stop hiding now."
"I was not hiding," Ken mumbled lazily. He swallowed his food. He offered her a goofy, relaxed grin. "I was just staying out of the splash zone. Lightning makes a very big mess. I am very glad the shiny prince handled it. It saved me a lot of walking."
Naomi chuckled softly. She patted his arm. "You are completely ridiculous. Let us go. The fight is over."
Ken stood up slowly. He dusted off his navy blue suit pants. He grabbed his bag of cookies. He slouched his posture. He dragged his cheap shoes on the cobblestones. Scuff. Scuff. Scuff.
He looked at Zeus standing proudly in the crater. He smiled a tiny, secret smile.
"Enjoy the glory, shiny prince," Ken thought to himself casually. "You take all the credit. You take all the cameras. I will just take my cookies and go home. Being a secret support character is the absolute best job in the world. Now, I just need to find a large pizza."
The 13th Unit walked away from the ruined plaza. The broadcast cameras focused entirely on the victorious 1st Prince. The public celebrated his massive strength. Nobody knew the absolute truth. Nobody knew the lazy, messy boy walking in the background had secretly orchestrated the entire flawless victory. Ken's secret was completely safe, and his peaceful, lazy life continued perfectly uninterrupted.
---
Zeus Belmontia stood in the center of the massive crater. Sparks of yellow lightning popped around his shiny black boots. He stared down at the giant Bug King. The monster lay flat on the crushed cobblestones. Its dark purple armor was completely shattered into tiny pieces. Green liquid pooled on the dirt. The beast could not move its legs.
Zeus lowered his right hand. He looked incredibly proud. He thought the battle was entirely over. He stared at the Bug King's motionless body, waiting for it to dissolve into gray ash.
High above the plaza, the magical broadcast cameras hovered in the sky. The floating cameras zoomed in. They captured the defeated monster perfectly. Millions of citizens across the Belmontia Empire watched the live television feed. They watched from their quiet living rooms. They watched from the local taverns. They all waited for the final victory announcement.
Ken Eliot sat on a broken piece of concrete. He slouched his shoulders. He reached into his plastic bag. He pulled out a chocolate chip cookie. He popped the cookie into his mouth. He chewed it slowly. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.
