’What a waste. Such an absolute waste.’

Moira Lynch quickly selected the items she wanted and then left the village chief’s house.

She then used the expensive, long-distance Teleportation Talisman she had bought earlier to teleport directly back to Serenia.

She had originally planned to start crafting items as soon as she got back to Serenia, but just as she was about to begin, she received a message from Shane Rhodes telling her to log off the game. He said they had something important to discuss.

When Moira Lynch emerged from her game pod, she saw Shane Rhodes, Kai York, and Hugh Finch sitting on the sofa, all looking grim.

"What happened?" Moira Lynch asked, sitting down on the sofa across from them.

Shane Rhodes was the first to speak. "We just got back from the base. Moira, have you ever thought about leaving the base?"

"Leave? Why would we leave? Aren’t we doing just fine here?" Moira Lynch looked at Shane Rhodes, completely bewildered.

’Or did these three get into some kind of trouble without me knowing?’

Seeing that Moira had misunderstood, Hugh Finch quickly stepped in to explain. "That’s not what the boss means. Moira, do you remember that land contract we brought back before?" As he spoke, he gave her a wink. "Veridian Prime. The base wants those of us who live in Sector A and own Elf Tree Houses to move to the new planet. The space we free up will then be given to other people."

Hearing this, Moira thought for a moment before saying, "I don’t really have a problem with that. But if we move to a different planet, what about the game? Will there be any issues with that?"

"You don’t have to worry about that," Shane Rhodes said. "They’ve run tests, and it’s not an issue. During the last game session, some players logged in directly from Veridian Prime. They wouldn’t have made a request like this otherwise."

"As long as it’s not an issue, I have no objections," Moira said with a nonchalant expression.

After all, she was a homebody who didn’t like going out much anyway. It didn’t matter where she lived, and the environment on Veridian Prime was supposed to be even better.

’Why wouldn’t I go for a better living environment?’

"But if we all leave, what happens to Caelus? Who’s going to be in charge?" Moira asked again.

"We’re not abandoning Caelus, of course. You can rest assured on that."

"I have one last question." Moira raised her hand, drawing the others’ gazes. "Why specifically players who own Elf Tree Houses?"

"Like we said before, it’s to make room for other people. It’s so cold now that the higher-ups decided to gather everyone together to huddle for warmth."

After Kai York finished, Hugh Finch added, "Besides that, the facilities on Veridian Prime aren’t fully developed. This move was originally planned for a year from now, but plans change. They’re sending us over because we’re bringing our own property, so they don’t have to waste time and manpower building new housing for us."

Moira: ...

’It might be true, but it still felt a little unsettling to hear it put that way.’

Once the matter of the move was settled, the group quickly got to work.

"Oh, by the way, Moira," Kai York asked with a curious look, "the Elf Tree House originally merged with the existing house. When we take the Elf Tree House with us, will the original house return?"

"It will. I was just too lazy to find another spot back then, so I had the Elf Tree House merge with the house. Now that we’re leaving, the house can naturally be restored."

Hearing Moira say this, Kai York couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

Noticing his odd reaction, Moira asked casually, "Is it that important?"

"Not hugely important, but if the house couldn’t be restored, we’d have to pay a small fee—the cost of buying the house, basically. After all, once we leave, they’d have to rebuild on the original foundation."

Moira: ...

’The silence was deafening. Base, could you possibly be any stingier?’

Still, despite her thoughts, Moira understood the base’s reasoning. After all, with both manpower and resources being limited right now, every little bit saved counted.

Since Shane Rhodes, Kai York, and Hugh Finch had families to take care of, the packing at Moira’s place was left to Moira and Zion.

’So that’s how it is.’

Moira, who was in the middle of taking inventory of her belongings, glanced at the three men who had been sent packing not even five minutes after they’d left. "What’s with you guys?" she asked.

’They left empty-handed and came back loaded with bags. Did they go to help, or did they just make a trip home to get spoiled?’

"This is from my mom for you!!!"

The three of them said it at almost the exact same time, their grievances practically materializing on their faces.

Moira took the items from them. They were almost all things a young woman would use, including a huge, handmade decorative pillow that felt amazing to the touch.

When Shane Rhodes and the other two saw Moira admiring the gifts, they let out a sigh of relief. At least now they could report back to their mothers.

Then, they headed inside and started packing.

Seeing this, Moira looked up. "Weren’t you supposed to be helping your families? What are you doing back here?"

"My mom said I was just getting in the way and that they’d be fine without me, so she kicked me out."

Kai York’s voice was thick with resentment as he said this.

The other two didn’t say anything, but you could tell from their expressions that they’d had a similar experience. They were three brothers in misfortune.

When their families heard that they had left Moira behind to pack all by herself, they were kicked out before they could even have a sip of hot water. And that wasn’t all—they were then forced to act as delivery boys.

’If they’d known this was going to happen, they never would have gone back.’

"So you just came back?" Moira asked.

"What else were we supposed to do?"

"We came back to help you pack. Aren’t you happy?"

Facing the question from Shane Rhodes and Kai York, Moira gave an awkward laugh. "It’s not that I’m not happy... It’s just, I’m almost done packing. All that’s left is to harvest the vegetables from the garden and put them in the warehouse. Oh, and the chickens and ducks—I’ll just put them in cages for now and keep them in my Space Button."

The three of them hadn’t expected Moira to be so fast. A profound sense of uselessness washed over them.

"Boss..."

The three exchanged a look. One went to the garden to harvest vegetables, another went to catch the ducks, and the third headed to the chicken coop in the backyard to round up the chickens.

Just then, Zion suddenly appeared at Moira’s side, its eyes full of question marks. "Research indicates that men habitually avoid housework. Why is it that the Master does not have to do anything, yet appears unhappy?"

’How am I supposed to answer that?’

"Probably because your Master isn’t an ordinary person."

"Not an ordinary person?"

"Yep, not an ordinary person," Moira nodded emphatically. "I heard a guy chatting earlier. He’s from Class 3."
