Apocalypse Beast Supplier: Only I Sell God-Tier Beasts
Chapter 80: Parasitic LeechWith his eyes lit up, Terrence reorganized his thoughts as he took a step back, moving slowly as his eyes met with the Shadow Hound’s.
"Go get it, boy!"
The Shadow Hound fired up immediately, letting out a low, vibrant growl before launching itself straight back below the massive frame of the Golem Turtle. With swift, lethal precision, it unleashed a rapid Triple Slash to serve as an instant distraction.
"Go to the sides too! Use the Triple Slash as a platform with Light Body! Cover all directions!"
Following Terrence’s sharp command, the Shadow Hound launched another set of Triple Slashes. This time, however, the energy blades weren’t aimed directly at the Parasitic Sucking Leech.
Using the physical momentum of the skill, the hound used the mid-air Triple Slash as a temporary stepping platform. The moment its paws touched the energy surface in mid-air, it launched a massive, dark iron-infused slash directly toward the parasite.
Then, another Triple Slash followed without targeting the leech directly. The Shadow Hound leaped toward that trajectory in a dark blur, setting its paws firmly on the energy structure while expertly maneuvering itself mid-air.
Three consecutive dark slashes followed in rapid succession, barraging the parasitic leech once more. This relentless pattern continued over and over without a single fail, as the Shadow Hound thoroughly confused the leech while the blinded Golem Turtle tried its absolute best to swat the hound away.
Terrence watched the tactical execution from a safe distance, now completely clear of the boulder turtle’s area-of-effect attacks.
He couldn’t help but smile at the sight. With how precise and accurate the hound’s strikes were, the Golem Turtle was completely losing its sense of direction, becoming increasingly disoriented as the parasite’s life force steadily drained away.
The Parasitic Sucking Leech was clearly controlling the Golem Turtle’s central nervous system. By theory, if they killed the parasite, its connection to the Golem Turtle would be severed instantly.
There was even a strong possibility that the Golem Turtle was already physically dead, or they could simply leave the giant host unconscious once the leech died and safely continue their journey toward the distant light.
Regardless of the mechanics, the entire tide of battle had turned completely in their favor.
The Shadow Hound moved like a dark blur across every angle, striking from all different sides to ensure that the leech continuously took direct damage while failing all of its frantic counterattacks.
As the hound lunged forward one final time with its Iron Skin fully activated, the strike connected with maximum force, and the parasitic leech was violently ripped off the turtle’s throat.
Terrence felt his heart skip a beat from pure excitement, followed instantly by a deep, rumbling wave of adrenaline.
In his eyes was the absolute reflection of a beast battle executed to perfection. This specific feeling was exactly what Terrence loved most about being a tamer—working seamlessly alongside a beast to craft real-time tactics and overcome seemingly impossible foes.
While technically the Golem Turtle’s raw power wasn’t inherently stronger than their combined potential, its natural immunity—or perhaps extreme tolerance—to physical attacks went far beyond the normal damage they could dish out.
After all, the Golem Turtle sat near the absolute top of defense-specialist beasts recorded in human history.
Then, finally, it was over. As the final dark slash was delivered, cleanly slicing the parasitic leech in half, the massive Golem Turtle collapsed heavily to the ground.
Its giant body created sharp ground tremors and kicked up massive dust clouds from the earthen spires it had materialized earlier.
The fight had officially ended.
With a deep huff of relief, Terrence walked back over to the quiet battlefield. He peeked down at the bisected body of the leech and reached out to pick up the beast core glowing inside its remains.
His eyes remained glued to the crystal in his palm, feeling a deep reluctance to believe the disturbing reality he had just uncovered.
"This... should not exist inside a basic C-Rank dungeon rift," Terrence mumbled to himself, his eyebrows furrowing. The Parasitic Sucking Leech was not a standard C-Rank beast as he had initially assumed—instead, the energy signature radiating from this core was undeniably A-Rank.
Terrence turned his head to look back at the fallen Golem Turtle, sensing the last lingering traces of its life force rapidly fading away. He reached out and touched one of its massive, hard limbs, pressing his fingers into the stone-like surface. With each passing second, the extreme toughness of the beast’s rocky skin became noticeably softer as its mana dissipated.
"Go get its beast core," Terrence ordered the Shadow Hound softly.
Terrence sat down on a nearby rock, deeply contemplating what had just transpired.
’There was a fully grown, A-Rank defensive Golem Turtle residing inside a basic C-Rank dungeon rift. On top of that, there was a fully evolved leech parasite that had reached its peak A-Rank stage. How were two massive A-Rank existences hidden inside a low-tier C-Rank rift?’
Noting this unnatural discovery, Terrence rummaged through his memory and tactical knowledge to find a logical, reasonable answer. Yet, no matter how he looked at it, no logical explanation came to mind.
It all looped right back to the glaring fact that this scenario should have been mathematically and spatially impossible.
’If that’s really the case... then something corrupted or abnormal is actively happening inside these dungeon rifts. And if it’s happening here, it might be happening in other rifts across the region as well.’
A second later, the Sky Dragon returned from its aerial scouting run, carrying a profound discovery. It let out a natural, high-pitched vocalization, chirping rapidly as if trying to communicate an urgent report to him.
"Calm down, take a breath. I can’t understand you when you squeak like that," Terrence said softly, gently caressing the back of the baby dragon’s head to soothe its excitement.
The Shadow Hound returned a moment later carrying the Golem Turtle’s massive A-Rank beast core in its jaws. Terrence took the heavy core and safely stored both high-tier crystals inside the inner pocket of his jacket.
’I’ll feed these directly to the Evolution Booster necklace later,’ Terrence planned privately. ’It seems the higher quantity of the beast core, the better the overall result will be. Or maybe my theory is slightly off, but I’ll test it later.’
"Alright, let’s head over to the location you were reporting on," Terrence said, standing up and dusting off his pants. He didn’t bother looking back at the battle site, leaving the two defeated beasts behind in the clearing.
As the three of them continued their journey toward the glowing orange light, his vision of the anomaly became clearer and clearer with every step.
The surrounding mist could no longer obscure the view due to how close they had gotten.
After a few minutes of steady walking, they finally arrived directly at the source of the light. But instead of feeling relieved or happy with what they found, Terrence instantly went completely mute, standing utterly frozen in his tracks.
They had left the entry portal far behind them, ensuring they were traveling deeper into the rift space. By all established laws of dimensional physics, there could only be one entry and exit point for any given dungeon rift.
Yet, what stood directly in front of their eyes was completely unnatural.
’Is that... another active rift?’
