「Day 25 of the game.」

The day was spent clearing out Xenomorphs.

「Day 26 of the game.」

After several consecutive days of cleanup, the number of Xenomorphs had decreased significantly, but at the same time, their combat effectiveness had also increased.

Compared to how busy everyone else was, Perry Yates had become the most idle person around.

After all, with her poker cards, every move she made could instantly vaporize a huge swath of Xenomorphs.

And after she attacked a few times, Perry noticed looks of envy and urgency in the other players’ eyes.

They were clearly afraid that her combat power was so immense she would wipe out all the Xenomorphs, leaving nothing for them to do.

Perry naturally noticed this too. So, she now only targeted Xenomorphs that looked particularly strong, spending most of her time dealing with the corpses of the ones that had been killed.

Working alongside her were some players who hadn’t used a Fusion Card yet, as well as those who disliked fighting and whose Card Abilities had no combat power whatsoever.

「Day 27 of the game.」

After several days of hard work, the last Xenomorph was finally defeated, and everyone couldn’t help but cheer.

Almost everyone had reaped considerable rewards from the past few days of battle.

Seeing this, Perry Yates controlled her rose vines to drag away the valuable Xenomorph corpses. The useless ones were directly incinerated on the spot, and the ground was then washed clean, leaving not a single trace behind.

Just as Perry was processing the Xenomorph corpses, a female player suddenly approached her.

"Hello, Boss. My name is Giselle Lowell. I was wondering if you have any Healing Cards?"

Perry Yates looked at the girl. She had a round face, short hair, a timid demeanor, and seemed younger than Perry herself. "What kind of Healing Card are you looking for?" Perry asked. "Many cards have healing effects now. Gentle attributes like the Wood Attribute, Water Attribute, Light Attribute, and Moon Attribute all come with healing abilities."

Hearing this, Giselle Lowell subconsciously bit her lip and said, "I’m really scared of getting hurt, so I want my first card to be one with a powerful healing ability. As for anything else, I don’t have any requirements."

Hearing Giselle’s request, Perry realized she actually did have a card like that on hand.

"I should have the card you’re looking for."

Perry then took out the Regeneration Card.

"This is a three-star card, Wood Attribute. Its ability is just like its name suggests. After fusion, no matter how severe your injuries are, you can quickly regenerate and heal."

"To be honest, calling it a Healing Card is a bit of a stretch, because it can’t heal other people—only yourself."

When Giselle Lowell heard this, her eyes lit up, but then she hesitated. Although the card perfectly met her personal needs, it couldn’t heal others, which diverged from the healer-support role she had envisioned for herself.

Besides, it was a three-star card; she couldn’t afford it.

Perry Yates naturally saw Giselle’s predicament, but she didn’t say anything. She wasn’t running a charity, after all.

"This is the only card I have on me right now that meets your requirements. If you’re not satisfied, you can wait until after the game and go to The Card Tavern."

The implication was clear: if you can’t afford it, wait until the game ends.

Hearing this, Giselle Lowell nodded, looking a little dejected. Her eyes lingered reluctantly on the Regeneration Card for several seconds.

Not long after Giselle left, Xavier Alden leaped out from a corner, grabbed Perry’s hand, and stared intently at the Regeneration Card. "Boss," he said, "can you sell this card to me?"

"Sure, as long as you can afford it. One hundred White Cards, or ten one-star cards. If they’re a rare attribute, they can count as two cards of the same rank."

Hearing Perry’s price, Xavier Alden instantly deflated.

"Boss, we go way back! Can I give you an IOU? Or I could work for you, that works too."

"You’re a veteran player, and you don’t even have a hundred White Cards on you?"

After all, Xavier Alden had bought quite a few things from her before and had always been quite generous. She didn’t believe for a second that he was truly broke.

’He definitely had them, but it would mean cleaning out his entire stash.’

’It wasn’t impossible, but it would leave him feeling completely insecure.’

Perry Yates watched Xavier Alden’s silence. ’He is my cousin, after all,’ she thought. ’I suppose I can cut him some slack, but it needs to be kept quiet.’

’Besides, at her tavern, she only had one employee, Sylas Sawyer, besides the butler. Hiring another one wouldn’t be a bad idea.’

"What! One White Card for a month’s salary!"

Xavier Alden stared at Perry Yates in shock, his eyes looking at her as if she were some kind of monster. The question, "Are you some kind of slave driver?" was practically written all over his face.

Seeing his reaction, Perry shrugged. "What’s so shocking? Go ask around. The price of a White Card has been driven up to two hundred thousand a piece. I’m offering you two hundred thousand a month. Where else are you going to find a boss as good as me?"

At this, Perry couldn’t help but puff out her chest, as if expecting praise.

’Yeah, that’s true, but you can’t calculate it like that!’

"Doesn’t that mean I’d have to work for you for a hundred months for free?"

Xavier Alden’s voice was weak and listless.

"A hundred months? You weren’t planning on paying a single card upfront, were you?!"

’Crap,’ Xavier thought. ’I accidentally said the quiet part out loud.’

In the end, Xavier Alden still committed to taking the card, but he didn’t take it right away.

He said he could still save up a bit more and asked Perry to hold the card for him and not sell it to anyone else.

Perry didn’t refuse.

「Day 28 of the game.」

There were simply too many Xenomorph corpses. Even though Perry had already incinerated a great number of them, many more still awaited processing.

Perry herself wasn’t idle either; she was responsible for both incinerating the useless corpses and processing the valuable ones.

Under these circumstances, there was simply no time to sublimate cards.

To avoid being disturbed, she simply had the Golden Spirit Illusion Feather activate its do-not-disturb mode.

This so-called do-not-disturb mode meant that from the outside, no one could see them, nor could they see or touch the Golden Spirit Illusion Feather’s protective barrier. It was as if they had already left, leaving behind only an empty city.

As for any natives who went through great trouble to find them only to come up empty-handed, well, that was none of her concern.

However, Perry Yates did leave behind a way for them to obtain cards. After all, they were all human; she would help where she could.

「Day 29 of the game.」

The end of the game was fast approaching, but they still had a huge number of Xenomorph corpses left to process.

Seeing this, Perry simply stored away a portion of the unprocessed Xenomorph corpses, leaving only a small number for the other players to handle.

「Day 30 of the game.」

As the game system’s announcement sounded, all the players instantly vanished from where they stood.
