"Is that an earthworm?"

Staring at the thing yanked up by the vines, Amber Sheridan could finally make out what it was: an earthworm, magnified a thousand times over.

Although it looked like a snake, an earthworm was still an earthworm.

"No wonder it was hiding underground."

Perry Yates’s fingers clenched. The vines wrapped around the earthworm’s body tightened violently, instantly constricting it into several segments.

However, it was common knowledge that an earthworm’s Life Force was incredibly strong; it could survive even when cut into multiple pieces.

So, to ensure the earthworm was well and truly dead, Perry Yates didn’t even spare its remains.

As the earthworm died, a card wreathed in black energy suddenly appeared before Perry Yates.

The front of the card showed the earthworm’s grotesque face, while on the back, the words "Sin of Lust" were written.

A flash of delight appeared in Perry Yates’s eyes when she saw the card. After so long, she had finally found a second one.

Amber Sheridan, standing to the side, showed no intention of fighting for it. Of course, even if Amber Sheridan had wanted to snatch it, Perry Yates wouldn’t have let her.

Just as Perry Yates was about to reach for the card, a sharp, piercing sound suddenly came from the distance.

The shrill noise gave both Perry Yates and Amber Sheridan a sudden case of tinnitus, causing them to lose their footing and fall from the tree.

The moment she hit the ground, Perry Yates steadied herself. Suddenly, two warm streams of liquid trickled from her ears.

Noticing something was wrong, Perry Yates reached up to wipe them away, and her fingers came back stained red.

’Am I bleeding?’

Seeing this, Perry Yates looked up in the direction the sound had come from. A familiar figure in a beret stood not far away, staring right at her with eyes that seemed to burn with anger.

"Hand over the card, or don’t blame me for what happens next."

An imperious female voice rang in Perry Yates’s ears. There was no doubt it came from the person nearby.

’Heh, it seems I was too idealistic about the relationships between Dealer Players.’

Meanwhile, the woman, seeing Perry Yates’s lack of response, gradually lost her patience, her brow furrowing.

"I’ll say it one more time: hand over the card, or don’t blame me for what happens next!"

"I’d like to see just what you’ll do to me."

Perry Yates straightened up, her gaze fixed on the woman, a defiant expression on her face.

She brandished the card in her hand and said, "You want it? In your dreams."

’You’re asking to die!’

Ever since becoming a Dealer Player, no one had ever dared to speak to her like this. Even among other Dealer Players, although her Card Level wasn’t high, other players didn’t dare—or didn’t want—to offend her because of her attribute.

When they encountered her, they would avoid her if they could. This had gradually made her arrogant and domineering, to the point where she thought she was invincible, the most badass person alive.

And now, she had run into a hothead like Perry Yates who actually dared to talk back to her. She was instantly enraged, the killing intent in her eyes almost palpable.

The woman opened her mouth, and a purple soundwave shot toward Perry Yates with devastating force.

"BOOM!"

The soundwave struck Perry Yates directly, kicking up a massive cloud of dust.

Seeing this, the woman couldn’t help but reveal a satisfied smile.

’Tsk, with that little skill, you dared to fight me? I’ll teach you what a senior is. In your next life, remember to be more discerning.’

When the dust settled, the bloody scene that should have been there was nowhere to be seen. Perry Yates was completely unharmed, her body covered in a layer of armor woven from the three intermingling attributes of Wood, Sun, and Moon.

Before the other woman could even recover from her shock, the Spiritual Ability Gun had already appeared in Perry Yates’s hand.

A beam of blue light shot out, piercing straight through the woman’s head. Until the moment of her death, her face was frozen in an expression of incredulous shock, as if she was wondering why her attack had been useless, why Perry Yates was unscathed, and why she was dying.

In reality, it was all very easy to understand. It all boiled down to two words: level suppression.

The defense of a five-star card wasn’t just for show—one only had to look at the Golden Spirit Illusion Feather for reference. Not to mention, she had been killed by a four-star Spiritual Ability Gun.

After dealing with the woman, Perry Yates walked over to her to collect her spoils of war.

Skill Cards disappeared completely after being integrated and wouldn’t reappear even if the player died, but item cards were different.

Several shattered card fragments were scattered around the woman’s body.

These item cards were, without exception, all Defense Cards.

When the woman was attacked, these cards activated, but they were powerless against the Spiritual Ability Gun. The end result was that they were destroyed, becoming useless cards.

After looting all the cards from the woman’s body, Perry Yates habitually destroyed the corpse to erase all traces before leaving with Amber Sheridan.

After they had walked some distance, Amber Sheridan suddenly said, "Perry Yates, do you want to join us?"

"Us?"

Perry Yates looked at Amber Sheridan in confusion.

"It’s all Dealer Players from various worlds. Your abilities are excellent."

The implication was: Your abilities are excellent, so you are qualified to join us.

"So what does your organization do?"

Hearing Perry Yates ask this, a small smile played on Amber Sheridan’s lips.

After Amber Sheridan’s explanation, Perry Yates finally understood what their organization was all about.

The organization was called "The Owls." It had started as a simple code—a signal for mutual aid and support among Dealer Players before a fight. Gradually, it evolved into an organization that now had over a hundred members.

Moreover, she learned from Amber Sheridan that the survival game had descended upon their world over three years ago, making their planet one of those that had endured the longest.

"What do you mean, ’one of the planets that had endured the longest’?" Perry Yates asked curiously. Her intuition told her it wasn’t a good thing.

However, Amber Sheridan had no intention of elaborating.

"This isn’t the place to talk. I’ll tell you later, or maybe when we meet again somewhere else, if fate allows."

「The tenth day of the game.」

Based on previous experience with the game, the difficulty was supposed to have its first spike today.

But even after breakfast, Perry Yates didn’t feel anything different. The surroundings were as calm and peaceful as ever.

Their mission today was to eliminate the last four remaining people.

After all, it was already the tenth day. If they didn’t deal with them now, they would become a serious threat.

As before, Perry Yates was in charge of locating them. This time, Evan Fuller was also joining the two of them.

"Master Ford, a small matter like this is something Perry Yates and I can handle. How could we possibly let you get your hands dirty?"

Watching Amber Sheridan’s sycophantic display, Perry Yates couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
