Perry Yates spoke the most brutal words with the calmest tone.

In response, Perry Yates produced a two-star identification item. She pointed nearby and said, "See for yourself."

Just then, a pocket on the player who had found the card began to twitch. It was followed by a flash of golden light.

In the next second, a humanoid monster appeared. It stood nearly two meters tall, its body and limbs unnaturally long and slender. Its skin was a dark, bruised blue, and its eyes were sunk deep into their sockets.

The monster didn’t immediately attack the female player. Instead, it approached the corpse of the player it had killed earlier, bent down, and began to feast. The body was devoured in moments, leaving nothing behind.

Once it had finished eating, it approached the female player. It raised its sharp claws, and with two sounds of slicing air, the woman’s arm and a leg were neatly severed.

The starving ghoul devoured the arm and leg as if they were mere snacks, chomping them down, bones and all, in a matter of seconds.

Once it was done, the starving ghoul licked its lips in satisfaction before turning back into a card and clattering to the ground.

Perry Yates watched the entire process unfold, but she didn’t make a sound to interrupt or intervene.

’She knew her Butler’s combat power was greater than her own. It stood to reason that this starving ghoul, also manifested from a five-star item, was more powerful than her too. So, it was best not to meddle.’

’With that in mind, Perry Yates decided it would be best to find a new location before everyone else woke up. After all, judging by the starving ghoul’s behavior, it clearly considered all of them its personal food supply.’

No sooner said than done. Perry Yates grabbed a tool, found a random spot, and began to dig.

The opening was quickly bored through, revealing a new cavern before Perry Yates.

This time, without an Infrastructure Space Stone to stabilize the passage, the wall she had just breached would reform the moment she crossed to the other side.

Perry Yates’s luck held true. The other side of the cave was free of any immediate danger.

Just as she was about to leave, she glanced at Dylan Adler, who was still unconscious on the ground. She considered for a moment, then decided to take him with her after all.

’He was one of Drakonia’s top fighters, after all. It would be a waste for him to die here. And, in a way, Dylan Adler had saved her life.’

Perry Yates watched the wall seal up behind them and finally breathed a sigh of relief.

A few minutes later, Dylan Adler regained consciousness. His eyes widened in surprise as he took in the unfamiliar surroundings.

"I thought you’d leave me behind," Dylan Adler said.

At his words, Perry Yates tilted her head, her expression clearly asking, ’Why would you ever think that?’
